Maddie, it seems that the chairs were a definate prop for photographers
years ago.
I loved the pic, but where was your doll. I had one in my photo, I must have been playing up that day. Norty norty me.

I have just watched Ann Widdy dancing to the music from titanic. Oh my god, why couldn't she have hit the iceberg and sunk. I bet she gets through yet again. booo booo get her out.

It must be my old age and/or senility because I hear youngsters speaking an alien language these days which I fail to understand.

Dermot, the grandchildren have a lot to answer to. When we are with them,we seem to adopt their way of talking, not good I know,as we being the elders should correct them.

As Shelly has said, back in the swinging sixties, and early seventies,we had our own way of speaking, and it was done to annoy and bewilder the parents at the time. We felt oh so cool, but sounded stupid at times.
When the word hip was used, my parents thought that friends had problems in that particular area.

Hi All,

Been Shopping ...
Bought some glitzy earrings ...what for ?..... I don't know ..LOL.

Now back for a chilled beer.

Now where's our birthday boy ? suppose he's getting traumatized about being a year older .....never mind Stephen we all go through it !!

Maddie I loved your photo of you as a little one , you must have been rich to have a matching bonnet ......I only had a pom pom hat that my Granny knitted in all different colours, as she said it goes with anything that you wear...LOL
Also had socks knitted with 3 needle's remember those ? my grandma was very clever she would knit all day long for us and when I was 16yrs she knitted me a .............WAIT FOR IT ...........a LIME green jumper and my sister a shocking PINK one ..So now you know how the colour lime green stuck ..LOL

Hope you are all nice and warm back there.

Hi Girls

you are so much younger than I am so you are girls to me.

I hope you have all had a good day ?.it has suddenly got very cold here. I am having my Horlicks right now before I go to bed. I am not tired , just cold and there is nothing to keep me up.
Hurry up and send me that photo of our Stephen I might feel warmer. Lol
I thought the large hat was our Shelly what made me think that. ? I printed all the photo's out you have been sending me on good quality printing paper and have written little bits about you under your photo, so I know more about you and I am making it into a book. so I will be able to put Stephens in as well now.

I have told my daughter she must get help I am sure she will not leave it too long , as she has her husband to look after, as well and does not want to end up in a hospital.
My G Granddaughter has these funny ideas bless her little heart she is such a sensitive child, she reads a lot and sometimes seem not to realise the difference between fact and fiction.
like her Mum she has spent so much time in hospitals it is like having two homes for her. she is so brave though for a little girl.
I thought all Sailors knitted Stephen. my Uncle leanred to knit it use to amuse me when he came home and brought his knitting with him

Rita

nite nite sleep tight.

morning all
nice and brisk this morning the weather I am speaking about Jack Frost came with a vengance last night while I was tucked up in my warm bed.

The photos are lovely Stephen. I pictured you like that in youir portrait. as my Grandmother would say a true good looking Scot.

I like the photo of your wedding.your wife is very lovely.and you of course.
The last time I played snow angels was 2003 the trouble was I needed help to get up again . my grandchildren and Great Grandchildren still do that play snow angels. we are all a lot of fools in my family. you would think the first thing to do would be build a snow man but that comes second on their list.

well ladies I hope you are all going to have a good day today. not get too cold if you have to go out.
I wonder how Linda is in Bath on her Christmas shopping spree.? I am looking forward to going there next year
if my sister and I go to Western Super Mare.for a week.
Pauline I am pleased you were having your bath before you ate. because it is not good swimming on a full tummy .

Well some of you will have seen my photos..........In case anyone is wondering who's who............my wife is the one in the white dress. ROFL

Seems like just yesterday they were taken. Well one of them was actually.

How fast do the years fly in.

My wee grand daughter, Eilidh age 6, put 10 candles on my cake

' Why 10 ?' asks I

'Grandad, we don't have enough candles, and 6+4 makes 10'.

She's a bright wee lass.

Loads of snow last night. So it was out early with the snow shovel again.

It's still snowing very hard so I expect the plough will need to come out soon.

I've to head into Edinburgh today for a reunion meeting with some friends.

As long as I make it to the Motorway things should be fine.

Then later on today a Christening of a Great Niece. Hope they make it to the Church. They live fairly high up and the roads will probably be badly hit by the snow.

Last Winter a house in the Glen was burned to the ground beacause the Fire Engine could not get through the snow. The snow was still at least 3ft deep at the road side in April. The high tops of my local hills still had snow on them in mid June.

Hey Ho ! Off I go.

Catch you later. Have a good day ya all !

I thought someone took my roof off last night - I then realised I was living in an igloo.

Hi everyone.

Lovely photos today, Maddie as a little angelic bridesmaid (being held still by an aunt) ,..............LOL

Stephen as a handsome young man with his lovely wife, and an up to date one of him being very sensible............LOL

I don't think I'll bother shoveling any snow away today, it's just going to come back again in a couple of hours.

Looks like we'll have cabin fever by the end of the week.

Stephen, my brother-in-law said the motorways are just as bad as the side streets........so be very careful.

Rita Report 28 Nov 2010 11:48

Hi Lady time does go quickly .I dont know where it has gone. my life seems to have flown by. even the days I get up do a few jobs and it is time for bed.

Pauline I could not stop laughing when I saw your garden and that snow I thought she wont be able to make a snow angel in ? they would need the SOS helicopters out to look for you.

Stephen I asked me Great Granddaughter Megan ( last year when I went to me daughters and she had brought me a birthday cake) why have I gone down in age ? there were twentyone candles on that cake.she smiled and said" ha we played a joke on you grandma "I said to her" I think you have." she said Daddy said the firemen may go on strike and there will be no one to put the candles out when it catchs fire..
Brett looked a bit sheepish I said that is the last time you get two presents on Christmas day. (his birthday is Christmas Day so he gets two presents. ) He told me I had said it as a joke( out of the mouth of babes. you never know what will come.out ?
I told them in futrue if you get that idea of a cake then get a candle with the age on it and that way you only have one candle to light. and it saves you on matches.
I tell you my family are as mad as I am. I wonder who they take after me or my Late husband. ?

I dont know what happened to me today, because I didnt drink anything stronger than a coffee. but I cooked my dinner chicken breast,s stuffed yes I did say breasts I forgot there is only me and I cooked two breasts. and roasted enough potato's for three people and the cabbage the same., I did four yorkshire puddings as well . I always have them if I have a roast dinner.
no way could I eat that amount so I have put them in a bowl looks like I am going to have bubble and squeak for the next two days.
to add to this I made a large rice pudding. and a small bread pudding.
I am thinking of having a dinner party anyone want bubble and squeak. ? with rice pudding or bread pudding to follow.
no wonder I am putting weght on.
