Marilyn, can't believe you want to leave all that sunshine. You'll soon cool down when you get back here.
Rita, I'll have some of that bubble and squeak and bread pudding please. We don't eat dinner until about 8pm, so it won't put me off my dinner.

I thought you were being a bit optimistic Stephen.
Never mind, you can have some fun in the snow instead.
Never tried skiing, but think I may have to learn if this snow doesn't stop soon.

My nephew has his on there because of all he does in America and my sister .
The McCallum death certifcate I have I have had for three years I put it on trying to find "board and "general topics." I have even given the address of where they lived in Dingwall R & C and no one seems to have them in the family. . seems such a shame I dont want to shred it. I told them I didnt want any money and will send it free. I will have to leave it on the thread and hope someone will claim it. Stephen is that a kilt you are wearing for your wedding.?

Evenin all. Many thanks for the photo's,Marilyn and Pauline. Our Mr 007 and a 1/2 Stephen's wedding pics were lovely, and Maddie was a proper little madam at the wedding.
Marilyn fancy telling Pauline to whoosh some of that snow, down to us others. We don't want it ta very much. Judging by the amount Paulines got,she could have her own ski run in the garden. Enjoy your last week of sunshine, coz sure as eggs is eggs, you are sure to come back to some snow. ha ha
Ahhhh Stephen what a shame everything got cancelled for you both. But it's better to be snowed in at home, rather than away. Will you be o.k to get to work tommorrow. Or have you got to get the sledge and huskies out. Whip crack away, ye ha get up there little dogies.
Hi Rita, hope you are staying nicely wrapped up and warm. Have plenty of hot drinks love. I wont say eat well,as I can see you are doing that anyway. Judging by the amount you cooked, you must have thought we were all coming for our sunday lunch. LOL
Pauline, will Brent be o.k to get to his centre tommorrow, or do you think they will cancel it again.
What has happened to our Shelly today, is she still wrapped up in a blanket by her fire keeping warm.
Hi there Lady, good to hear from you. Have you got any snow your way yet.
Maddie is at work today isn't she. I bet she will be like a frozen pea when she gets home, ahhhh bless her little cotton socks.

GREAT, GREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT.
I belong to the Friendly Thread.....or should I say......Friendliest Thread.
All as daft as brushes,
mad as hatters,
a bunch of screwballs,
a load of looneys
totally dolally,
missing a screw,
BUT OH BOY ! Do we know how to laugh and have a bit of fun.
And still support each other when the need arises.
Well, my planned day didn't happen.
So I went and played on my skis instead. Came home in the dark sliding along using my headtorch. Yep.....daft as a brush.
Snowed nearly all day today. Better get a bigger shovel for Mrs Stephen.
Tea time now. Catch you later.

See girls, I told you our James Bond 007 and a half, was a nutter, fancy risking his neck going out in that snow skiing. At least you could have done the milk tray advert Stephen, and bought Mrs Stephen a box home.
Brrrr Maddie, poor you having to face that cold weather out there. Have you got work tommorrow as well .I am dreading the snow coming up our way, it's been snowing down in Dover and Folkestone today, so watch out my love, get the moon boots out ready. LOL
A question for Marilyn ...... did you send a p.m to Huia today, re someones family in NZ.They are having a reunion with the family next year. If it was you, well done, if it's not you, try harder next time. LOL

On a serious note.
For those who drive or go out in cars.
We always have, in each of our cars , Waterproof and warm clothing, gloves and wooly hat, extra socks and stout boots, torch and first aid kit.
In winter we add a shovel, some grit, a sleeping bag. Also a thermos flask filled each day with a hot drink.
Folk tend to think they are invincible in their wee machines with air con and central heating......until it breaks down or they are stranded in the snow.
Worth thinking about.

Thanks for the chocs Stephen, just what I need to cheer me up a bit. I agree with what you are saying, about the emergency kit. Fortunately we are not in a remote place. But when we do get snow, I like to check on my neighbours, to make sure they are alright, and also if they need anything. We have several widows in our small close, and I would hate for them to be neglected,as it's not always possible for their families to get to them. If we don't see a neighbour for a day or two, we knock on the door to make sure they are well.

Stephen when we lived in Norfolk my husband use to put all those in the car boot including an old bit of sacking which we put under the wheels of the car when stuck. we also took large plastic bags, to put over our shoes incase we forgot the wellies.he use to keep a packet of torche batteries incase our torche ran out. and he carried reflectors to place around the car so people knew we were in it. and didnt hit us. we got caught out twice with the weather. Hi All,
Maddie you are funny...... when are you due to retire from work ? You cant possibly have broken vessels at your age or can you ???. hmmm in the 90's well yes possibly.. LOL
MO ....YES that was ME posting Huia about the two of us finding a member called Maria her biological dad in New Zealand last year. We worked together on the case ..LOL and got the results in finding her dad that left UK when she was a little girl. Maria has kept in touch with me in informing me of the slow but rewarding coming reunion that will happen in Feb2011. There are two lady's that Maria wishes to meet to hug as she tells It ,for finding him and one is ME !! LOL.....and the other HUIA in New Zealand. Now all I want is brownie points ,but they don't give them out on genes ,only yellow stars and they have been whooshed .
Hi Stephen.....My chocolates have melted....boo hoo .

Thanks for the tea Jean Had a lovely if rather cold weekend The Christmas Market at Bath was overcrowded, too many people for all of us in our group !!! Very pretty to see, but actually spent more time in the Roman Baths and getting a meal. Bath must really benefit from the influx of people, but it spoilt things for us. Will go again but at a quieter and warmer time of year. There was some snow around but no disruption thank goodness. The Sunday in the Cotswolds was lovely. Again very cold, but nice to see Stow and Bourton, some snow around but not even a covering. Thanks for the photos:- Pauline's snow, please don't send it south !!! Stephen, on your wedding, as a younger man and the snow angels. It is nice to see who we are talking to. Maddie as a child they are such lovely pictures and contrasting too, the portrait when butter wouldn't melt in your mouth........ then when Aunty had to restrain you !!! Well I know that situation well, my youngest was like you especially when it is necessary for them to be on their best behaviour. Actually just remembered my son's wedding and the young bridesmaid, she really looked as if she'd rather not be there. Very miserable in all the photos. I hope everyone is keeping warm enough in the cold weather. Marilyn I know you need to keep cool BUT you will be back soon. Little has chickenpox, but is still coming !!! Mum almost begged me to have her? Well if she is at all unwell I will have to phone and get her picked up. Will let you know later on how she actually is. Have a good day

Morning everyone, hope we are all well and warm.
No frost here this morning, so that is good.
My eye seems to have 'bleached' a bit this morning, just a bit bloodshot. So it dont look like I have been out on the tiles ALL night.
Marilyn, they have just given me my due retirement date, and have moved it 2.1/2 years. So I wont be going anywhere soon. So thanks for that Government. It is sailing further and further away.
Just off to have me brekkie, than pick up a couple of errands, then to work. Busy, busy, busy. Aren't we all.
See you all later. Take care out there.

Stopping for a wee break........I've been out since before 6.00am shovelling away at the VERY DEEP snow. Need the plough out now though. Thank goodness I have the required gear to cope with this weather. Years of practice and experience soon lets you know what you need and what's totally useless. The freezer is well stocked and we have loads of tinned food including milk. Wouldn't matter too much if we were snowed in for a couple of weeks or more, not that that is likely to happen. I have in the past put the skis on and gone to the village to get a couple of things, more for a bit of fun than neccesity.
Thanks for the breakfast Jean, needed a top up of Coffee. Will save the rest till later.
A wee laugh for you all.......my daughter has Africans staying in her holiday apartment just now.......she wondered what all the noise was......on investigating she found it was the Africans dancing in the snow.....they had never seen snow before and obviously never felt it's texture. They had great fun.
Have a good day ya all.

Good morning one and all. We have had a light dusting of snow this morning. I've been on my hands and knees praying we don't get any more, so much so,that i've got holes in my jama bottoms.
Take care Jean, when you go for your treatment today. And thanks for the brekkie, it was lovely.
Oh Maddie, what a bummer that you have to work on for longer. Try and have a more calmer day today, you don't want to be unwell for christmas.
Stephen, it was funny to read about your daughters guests. When I did the fostering years ago, the parents were Nigerian, and they also had never seen snow. The look on their faces was something to behold. They were very afraid to go out in it at first. I was surprised that they were able to walk, they had so many clothes on for warmth.
I hope Paulines son, Brent has been able to get to his day centre today, and that she has not had more snow.
Rita, stay in the house and keep warm, unless you really HAVE to go out.
Shelly must have hybernated. Goooood Morning Shelly.
Marilyn, be careful you don't get sunstroke.
I will be back this evening, bye for now folks.

Morning all.
Another day with loads of snow, but we got thunder and lightening with the snow storm this morning ........just for a change.
Thanks for the chocies Stephen, they were lovely. Have you got a spare sledge and a couple of huskies I could borrow? Can't walk in the snow now, it's going over the top of my (knee length) boots, think I need some fishing waders.
The bus won't be coming for Brent, it's got no chance of getting here..........so we'll have cabin fever again this year.
Thanks for the lovely breakfast Jean, just what I needed. How are you doing? Not long now for you to find out if all that cancer has been zapped.
