Afternoon All
Just another very quick post from me.Janice is still here so it is all go go go .We have been to Beckworth Emporium this morning. It was very busy with children and families whizzing and falling on the ice rink :-)I bought plenty of goodies.Mainly nice meat from the butchers dept and other fripparies .(any excuse to spend lol)Then Janice wanted to go to Tes** so we popped in there.
Now we are just going to have lunch(late one).Southern fried Chicken Chips and peas. The Roast was last night .Then my BIL should be back here about 4pm form visiting his Daughter (from 1st marriage ) and Grandson.A quick cup of tea and slice of cake and then they will be back off to Tewkesbury.
I will then be able to read back over all the posts that I have missed.
Lunch is ready so will BBL

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 14 Dec 2014 15:06

WE've had our big breakfast and I am just about to wash up. Not much light left today to do much on the rings buit I may get a few more mossed. Finished of the other two this morning so that is 8 done in all so far. May do some of my posies but will see how I go.

I don't blame you Frank putting your hood up. Oh won't wear anything that has a hood on it. Thats a nice idea for snowdrops and crocus on the graves as they do look after themselves and are such a lovely sight early in the year. As most of you know we have lots of snowdrops in the orchard and there are bulbs showing in some places out there in the corner. Also the bulbs I put in containers that the chickens dug up twice in the summer are now showing signs of life outside my shed. I was going to put stones on top but there are so many I have crammed in there I don't think stones will be right just now and if I put gravel on them the bantams will have that out anyway........... :-|

Can't make up my mind what to put on mums little place of rest this year. May just do a posy, a special one of course. She only has a small headstone with a Robin engaved on it in the corner and it has a pot holder for flowers so I may do a little tree in a pot to go in there, on the lines of my rings.

When they say 5 foot of snow, does that mean all at once or at different times during the winter??

Gillx Report 14 Dec 2014 15:25

So you're a hoody now Frank ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-).

What a lovely idea to plant snowdrops and crocus at the graves, it'll be lovely to see every spring :-) <3 <3.

I saw the forcast for 5 foot of snow I'm not much taller than that so will have to buy some stilts to get around :-D :-D.

I don't fancy minus 15 degrees either, our pipes froze one winter, don't want to go through that again :-( :-(.

Gillx Report 14 Dec 2014 15:35

Do you like how colourful I tried to make my post look, it's my way of making it look Christmassy ;-)

Frank

Frank Report 14 Dec 2014 16:17

Well I have read the paper for what's in it, I might as well cancel it, but the sport pages get my attention.

Ros has been ironing since we got back. She is now putting things on the backs of doors that we will be taking to Devon. A bit more mess won't make any difference.

I'fe ordered the crocus, 200 for £1.99 with free p & P. The snowdrops are 100 for 99 p but £3.40 P & P. I have asked what it would be for 300. Waiting to hear., then I will order. I don't know if we will be able to get back over to the cemetery before Christmas. But will do it as soon as we can.

I can just see you Gill with stilts. lol ;-) ;-) ;-) No Mel not all winter long but in a few days :-( :-( :-( Stock up with everything if it comes. !!!

Years ago, pipes froze every year. We had no heating in the house apart from the fire in the "BACK ROOM" with the back boiler behind it. Bare lino floors, and frost on the inside of the bedroom windows. That was the winter of 47. When snow was still on roofs in the April. William will remember that. You girls were not even a TWINKLE in your FATHERS EYES, :-D :-D :-D :-D

Off to put dinner on, and sort out what to watch while XXXX factor is on for TWO HOURS BAR HUM BUG

Frank

Frank Report 14 Dec 2014 16:25

Sorry folks those crocus are £7.50 per 100. and I've ordered 200.

Frank

Frank Report 14 Dec 2014 18:58

Yes Mel, we did. Now you will have to put up with me. :-( :-( :-(

Finished dinner and all washed and dried up.

I am down to jogging bottoms. I am baking. I suppose that will change when I go into the conservatory later. ;-) ;-) ;-) But it's got to be better than listening to that row on X factor. Loud music and song, plays my head up. !!! so it's better I am out of the way.

I have the choice of so many programmes, that I am sure I will find something to watch for TWO HOURS.

Hope those who watch it enjoy it. I know Jane will !!!! (she has no taste :-D :-D :-D :-D) SORRY couldn't resist THAT !!!

Just got the email Jane of Fitz's tree it's massive, it must of taken ages to decorate it. I didn't realise the photo was on an angle so it looked odd at first, then I realised so turned my head and looked at it properly lol

Off to carry on watching X FACTOR yes I like it to Frank lol
It's the final. Fleur East to win :-D ;-)
Hope I haven't jinx her now ;-)

Gillx

Gillx Report 14 Dec 2014 23:34

Glad Lewis Hamilton won the Sports person of the year. I recorded it to watch tomorrow but was sure he'd win, since he is the F1 world champion.

He won the drivers championship on my birthday which made my day. His team also won the constructors championship a few weeks before.

Best birthday in a long time :-D :-D :-D
This is now the cherry on the cake ;-).

Didn't know you followed the F1 Mel, hubby and I are made up Jenson Button got a drive next year, they left it very late to let him know though, which we thought was cruel. At least he knows before Christmas.

Wonder what will happen with Alonso, hope he doesn't play silly games with Jenson like he did with Lewis. Should be interesting to watch next season with the new Honda engines though.

Love the name you have chosen Mel, are you going to have a plaque made :-).

Off to bed now, busy day tomorrow visiting MIL

A quick god morning to you all before I print off a few more Christmas cards. A lovely sunny morning here but unlike yesterday, I didn't take any photographs. The ones I put on Facebook yesterday (some of you will have seen them) seem to have gone down well. And before anyone asks, no, I didn't pay my grandson to say nice things about them!!!

No plans today. I am going to vacuum throughout because I'm fed up with seeing bits of tinsel etc sparkling up at me from everyfloo0r in the house! I'm afraid Carmel is a bit of a Christmas-olic :-)

Wednesday we are having a much needed visit from 'Baby' Grace (we won't be able to call her that much longer!), her Mum and daughter Dorothy, so that is something nice to look forward to. Saturday we have been invited over to Measham by our granddaughter Siobhan whose birthday is on the 20th - so more to look forward to.

I'll look in later to see how you all are. TTFN

Morning Will and all, Evening Kim.

Awake at 5.00 am this morning, was making tea at 6.00 am. Ros came out at 7.20 very early for her :-D :-D :-D

Nice name Mel, who's was that ???

I have decided, that this evening when they pick up Lewis, I will say halo as I go out of the house, and go to the pub. I will take my phone so Ros can ring me when they leave.

We had a lot of rain last night, while I sat in the conservatory. I watched an hour of ABBAs life story, then caught the first hour of Lewis on ITV 3 watched the rest in the lounge, then went to bed.

I might go with Ros to pick up Lewis for him to go to the dentist. He has to have TWO teeth out today. poor old chap. It needs to be done to let his other teeth spread and straighten up. It will be worth it for later in life. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Off for Shower and Shave.

See you all later

Morning/Evening All

Oh I too get fed up with sparkly bits getting all over the place.I even had them on the top of the hob!!.I think that they must have been stuck on my clothes and dropped on there when I was cooking.

The pic of Fitz's tree didn't do it any justice .I took it on my phone.I think I will see if I can get one on my proper camera .it really is smashing.

Well I am off to the Renault garage to see if they can fit me a new rubber pedal on the accelorater as my foot keeps slipping off when I change gears and it is becoming pretty dangerous now( and scary). Then the dry cleaners to have sleeves shortened on a new coat and to have James's jacket cleaned as his friend accidentally spilt his pint over it on Saturday night :-S...it smells wonderful (not).I think I will have the window open in the car lol

It is a beautiful sunny morning and Chris is off on one of his jaunts in the countryside.

Prickly Hollow :-D..Good choice Mel ....I am guessing it must have been your suggestion then Frank ;-)

Right I must get my skates on.BBL
