Yes Jane, Carmel has very thin skin and also she can bruise by just looking at an object :-) She also has very dry skin on her legs and has to rub baby oil into them on a daily basis. I just hope that silly woman doesn't drive a car otherwise we'll all have to be on the look out for her !!!

Evening all,
Little bit of frost this morning then out came the sun ,it turned out to be quite a nice day. Tomorrow hubby has the day off so we're going to Norwich Christmas shopping , we hope to be home just after lunch as we have the children coming for tea while son and DIL go to the hospital ,DIL has decided to have a c section so they should give her a date tomorrow .
I seem to have been on the go all day it's nice to sit down.
Oh those blooming shopping trolleys ,why do they all seem to drag them behind themselves ,if they pushed them they could see what they are doing with them , they drag them and then suddenly stop and start to reverse with out even looking where they are going , the times i've put my foot on the trolley to stop them hitting me . I hope Carmel's leg soon heals it can take a while when your skin is thin ,i know my dad had lots of problems with his legs because the skin was so thin on them .
Oh goodness Jane lets hope your delivery is early rather than late ,delivery's seem to be getting later and later , i suppose it's easier to catch people at home in the evenings .
Well i would have to move out if we had rats in the house !! no way could i go to bed knowing there were rats on the prowl :-D I hope the rat man can soon sort it out for you Lavender .

'L' Plates should be used on trolleys :-).Some people are just totally oblivious to others . Just watching the news .What a dreadful thing to happen in Pakistan. All those dear Children killed .It is just too sad :-( :-( :-(..It makes my blood boil
Frank ,I think it was a good idea for you to decide to be out when Lewis's Mum and Dad came.Better that than a big bust up.I can understand Ros being a bit miffed with you though.I would have been the same with Chris.Hopefully the air has cleared now with you both.

When is baby due Mandy? I had 2 C Sections and they were fine :-D Both elective ones so I knew exactly when .They were both by epidural so I was awake and aware of what was happening.I do remember when Hannah was lifted out .She wee'ed all over the Surgeons feet :-D :-D.Bless her <3.Caesearean babies come out with lovely shaped heads as they haven't had the trauma of pushing themselves out. Yes I hope the wardrobe arrives at the earlier time .It seems like we must be the last delivery of the day :-S Hey Ho just our luck !

Baby's due around the 25th Jan but DIL thinks they will give her a date about a week before that ,she had a c section with Lacey and was given the choice of having a natural birth or a c section this time but they did tell her that it does put stress on the old scar by having a natural birth and a slight risk to baby so she opted for the c section .
We have the fire going but i carn't seem to get warm this evening ,i've just put a cardi on .

Evening All,
Oh Lavender not a rat in the house.........think I would be joining Mandy outside the house till that had gone! Yes, you would need a cleaning frenzy after that!! We get rats here as there is a ditch the other side of the back fence, but I've only seen a dead one. Did I see on another thread that you have horses?
Frank, I'm famous for making wrong turns when I'm driving, which OH never understands! It never bothers me though as I just turn round as soon as I can. :-) Good move to go out early and remove yourself from the situation. Was Lewis ok after his dentist visit? I mentioned to OH that he was having teeth out to stop overcrowding. He said 'Hmm, it's more a case of 'vacancies' than overcrowding with mine!!' LOL.
People just don't look what they are doing half the time William. Their eyes go one way and trolley the other. They can do some damage though when they are pushed into you as poor Carmel found out. What a shame and you'd think the woman that did it would have been more caring. I bet Carmel will get a nasty bruise as well it bleeding.
Yes, sometimes a simple meal just hits the spot! After a couple of days of Christmas Fare, we often fancy poached eggs on toast!! :-) Ham, eggs and chips is an occasional favourite of mine too, with lots of tomato sauce. :-)

I was told after my 2 C sections that a third would not be advisable because of the old scars.I said there was no chance of me having a 3rd baby lol...I sent Chris for the snip pretty quick after I had James :-D :-D..Sorted :-D
I am going up to bed to watch the last episode of The Missing .My left knee has been so painful today I've been like Hop along Cassidy. So I have found a heat patch as no paracetamol or Brufen seem to be doing much to help.Bed might be the best place ,and then I will take the patch off before I go to sleep I have 9 minutes to get into bed and set my laptop up . See you all tomorrow x

It will certainly help with any arrangements with knowing the exact date Mandy. I bet the children will be so excited. :-)
Jane, my knees and back have given me gyp today as well. I know mine are from being up and down decorating the tree and climbing on the stool, then all the HW. :-S Not been yanking those long boots off and hurt your knee have you? I remember my foot used to nearly come off pulling my boots off sometimes! lol. It's good Chris is preferring his retirement to being back at work, even though it must be a bit disappointing to see things aren't as good now. OH has come back from meeting his old staff before now saying how bad things seem to be, yet would be so easy to fix!! Like Chris he has no desire to go back and fix them though!! lol.
We had the nice carvery today but it was packed with Christmas Parties so it was quite noisy once the wine was flowing and the crackers were being pulled. Then we did a big shop and got most of the Christmas food apart from perishables. Now I need to have a root through the freezer in the garage to put things I bought altogether so I can find them easily. :-S
Off to bed now.....OH has already gone as he has a meeting at Hinckley tomorrow and has to be up early. I might go with him and look round the shops if I can crawl out of bed and if it isn't raining.

It was a good break at Cen*er Par*s, Frank. We went to the Nottingham one last year, this Woburn one nice and new like you say. Not a cheap holiday really but my daughter booked it over a year ago to get a discount. She was saying today that the last minute holidays are good value. You have to take into account that the pool is amazing for those who enjoy water parks with all the flumes etc., it's really a place for families. I wouldn't choose to go there if it were just my h and me!
Yes, Annx. I have two miniature Shetland ponies, we've had them from young as pets. They are not broken in, just pretty!! We have them immediately outside my lounge and study french doors so can enjoy them all day.

Morning all and evening Kim,
Windy and wet here today.
Oooo Lavender two Shetlands how lovely. when I worked for the PDSA I used to have to go with their shetland to collect for them. Goldy had a special girth with a collection box each side and I would stand with her all day in Ilford High St. Her halter had a feather plume on the top and she had a blue and gold coat with the badge on it.. You have brought back memories of my times there. They had a few Shetlands and I used to be able to take one of them to go and collect my boy from school so I would ride it there and he would ride it home. It used to cause quite a stir as the children loved the shetlands. When a new foal came along I would have my pic taken with it for the newspaper.
Few things to get done today so see you later.

Ha! Ann.These boots are quite easy to get on and off. They are cut away at the sides which makes things a lot easier and the foot is slightly on the loose side so no real struggle.I had them on just now ready to go out but I felt too warm in them so have my ankle boots on now :-D.I don't think I shall be bothering with a coat it is so mild today.
Mel I can just imagine you on a Shetland.Your feet must have been on the ground!!!
lavender how lovely for you be able to just watch them outside your window.I know they often use little Shetlands in Pantomimes like cinderella .I don't like to see them on a stage like that with all the noise from the audience, and the hot lights.Out in the open is where they should be :-D
Right I am off now.The window cleaner has been and parked his van behind my car in the drive so I have been hanging on waiting for him to go BBL

Morning my lovelies and evening to our Kim, !!!
Nice bright sunny morning again here, not at all cold temp. up to 13 degrees today.
All this talk about "C" sections made my knees go shaky :-D :-D :-D Both of mine were natural births at home, and I was there throughout. and a great help to the midwife. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Lewis is fine now, you made me smile Ann with your OHs remark. (TELL ME ABOUT IT)!!!! My five are still holding up well. :-D :-D :-D My new teeth are rubbing a little on my top left gum, but I put a bit of Bogjel## on it and it easies it a bit.
Ros is still full of cold, and I think I might be getting it. :-( :-( :-( They are still full of it in Devon also, so it looks like a "COLD CHRISTMAS" lol
Has the rat man been yet Lavender. ??? and if I haven't already asked where are you living ??? Two Shetland Ponies must be lovely to look out on anytime of day. Do they run around and kick out ??? I love to see horses free to do that <3 <3 <3
You are starting to bring back memories now Mel, We could stand on "DRAPERS/MILLMANS hill and see the PDSA in bold letters across the roof of the building. It was where I would take my dog, when unwell. You might have seen to me !!!!
Hairdressers for Madam at 2.00 pm Having her highlights put in for the holidays. Nails on Friday.
I got a right old dirty look yesterday, when I said to Ros, DON'T GET LOST going to Tesc# I checked her tyre pressures on Sunday. They charged 50 pence to use the air pump. DAYLIGHT ROBBERY. It's only 20 pence at Tesc# She has totally filled the petrol tank, all I need to do now is check the oil and water and washer bottle before we go.
Yes I am pleased I was out of the way when they picked Lewis up. I know what a wicked tongue his Mother has when she starts, and that would have caused a right DING DONG.

Hi all
Been raining here but thankfully it's stopped now. OH has been moving some pots around for me to fill in some gaps in the garden and my cheeky tame squirrel Rosie has been for her breakfast, although she buried most of the nuts in my pots again. She's so funny to watch, mush down tush up, quite a site to see :-D.
Sorry to hear about Carmel Will, I hope she's alright now. I think the worse is when parents let their small children push the trollies, they can't see over the top and they run with them so god help anyone who gets in the way.
Shetland ponies outside your window how lovely Lavender
A new baby in the family soon Mandy, hope everything goes smoothy for your DIL.
Jane did you see my post thanking you for your Christmas card it arrived safely the other day.
I've put my sofa covers in the wash and it sounds like the washing machine has finished so I'm going to chance them on the line, it's quite warm outside so hopefully they'll dry, if the rain keeps away.

Afternoon All,
Yes it seems very mild today, didn't even take my coat to nip in the shops down the road.
Two little Shetlands, how lovely Lavender! I always wanted a house with a paddock just outside! I loved the idea of strolling outside in the morning with a carrot or two. I bet they soon come to the fence/gate when they see you. We saw a little grey one when we went for lunch yesterday and I said to OH that I wondered if it was a Christmas present for some lucky child as it wasn't with the other horses before. What lovely Shetland memories you have too Mel. When they bring them to our local supermarket the little ones absolutely love them and get so excited. How fantastic for your son to be able to ride a pony home from school!
It sounds like you will all be in the same boat coldwise then Frank. There seem to be lots of them about and the boss where we had lunch yesterday said he was still trying to shake one off.
Gill, I've seen a squirrel burying nuts in my pots here before. It seems they prefer them to the ground for some reason! lol. Maybe it's because the soil is easier to dig?
I feel so tired and hot today, quite zombielike. OH will be home soon so I'll see what he wants to do before I get changed. I really need to do more HW, but don't fancy doing that......no surprise! I will go and sort the birdfeeder next I think.....it will be cooler out there.

Out of the blue, I ordered some wild flower seeds, for the bees, and birds. they arrived this morning, and when I mentioned it to Ros. she said they are not going in the garden, they are natural. The birds will be glad of the seeds in the summer, and they should brighten up the verges :-D :-D :-D :-D Might give some to Carol, to scatter on her husbands natural grave in the field where he is buried. That should brighten the grave up for when she visits.
I'm thinking of going out for a walk as it's so mild.
I am taking my big coat, scarf and gloves to Torquay, as I intend to walk the seafront most days, and I will take my spare walking stick, in case I wear the other one out :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-P :-P :-P :-P

I laughed at you wearing your walking stick out Frank... I had visions of you bent nearly double still leaning on your stick. Bettertake some new rubbers for the ends then.
Been to Torrington for oh for the dentist and he dropped me off at Li*l and I mosied around there till he came back to me inthe shop. we bought bits for lunch and I got some bicarb of soda and baking powder as when I did my Christmas cake I noticed that the date had run out on my bicarb but used it anyway. I can now throw the old stuff away and start afresh.
Just going to make myself a cuppa after all those chicken wraps and different mayo's and salad bits.

Afternoon all
Just brought the sofa covers in off the line and they are dry, good job I did because it's just started to rain and it's coming down quite heavy.
Yes Ann I think you're right about the squirrels burying their nuts in the pots, the soil will be softer and Rosie, as I've named her, has a bad front leg so it will be easier for her to bury them.
She sometimes tries to bury them in the grass but it's not long before other squirrels dig them up, so this way the nuts in the plant pots are left alone for her to go back to when she's ready.
One of the neighbours cats nearly got her yesterday, she was happily collecting the nuts from outside our back door when all of a sudden this big black cat came from behind the greenhouse and chased her, I put my shoes on and quickly ran out after them, luckily the cat was still in our garden trying to hide behind our cherry tree under the hedge and Rosie was no where to be seen, so when I saw Rosie again today I was pleased to see she was ok. I wasn't expecting to see her so soon so it was nice to know the cat hadn't scared her to much to stop her coming for her nuts.
What a nice thought Frank to give some of the seeds to Carol, she'll be so pleased you thought of her and the birds will be pleased about the rest of them come the summer, they'll probably end up scattering them around your garden so you'll have the pleasure of them too. ;-) ;-).
Going to put the sofa covers back on the sofa's now and have a cup of tea, I seem to have a headache that just doesn't want to go today, which is very annoying, so having a break from the computer screen might help. I've been online most of the day catching up on all my emails.
