Evening all,

Where has the day gone ,i seem to have been on the go all day but i have got every thing done now ,Turkey's defrosting nicely ,that's now down in the shed on the freezer top so that will keep nice and cool down there , no room what so ever in the fridges ,i don't know what i'd do with the spare one in the shed ,sausage rolls made and i have even set the table .
I have six big bin bags down here in the lounge waiting for son to pick them up , he should be here about seven ,he's going to leave them in his car until the children go to sleep !! might have a long wait i think ,they were so excited when they came this morning :-D

These poor fairies ,fancy having to have a branch shoved up your skirt !! :-S mind you i usually shove a light up the skirt of mine :-D :-D :-D

You had a good walk Frank, it's lovely getting a bit of sea air in your lungs ,it always gives me an appetite.

It's been a nice sunny day here not at all cold ,but i think tomorrow should be a bit colder .

Just had a relaxing bath ,I was very weary, that grandson of mine never sits down for more than a second and he's off again. :-D :-D

I was listening to the news on the radio while busy in the kitchen, and they were talking about the tragedy in Glasgow with the dustbin lorry, it seems that there was a young teenage girl out with her mum and her gran & grandad doing christmas shopping , and the poor mum stood and watched her daughter and her mum & dad , ploughed down by this lorry, OMG what a horrendous thing to have to see and you cannot help in anyway,
The Bishop of Glasgow has paid a visit to this poor woman to give her some comfort.

I Better go and set the table for dinner,

Wishing all my good friends near & far A very Merry Christmas, Hope everyone has an enjoyable Christmas day. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Evening All,

Yes Ruby I had one on just the same as you. That is great news from your cardiologist, he sounds like a nice man too. It doesn't sound odd to me to go out just for a dessert as we have done it in the past! That 7th heaven sounds fantastic! I think I shall be joining you on 'lean' eating in the New Year, but you are well organised getting prepared now and getting grandaughter involved in sorting your lower cupboards. I had 2 long 3 drawer units put in place of cupboards and a pull out corner unit so there is just a double cupboard under the sink now. It made life a lot easier. It sounds a nice idea to go visiting everyone else this year! My first MIL always did that while her husband cooked the Christmas dinner!

Mel I reread my post and can see at first glance it looked like I said Jane was tipsy. Jane obviously had missed my earlier post about her tipsy fairy so maybe she was tipsy after all!! lol. :-)`

Frank, the house sounds ideal being so close to the sea. I bet you will sleep well after that lovely walk in the sea air. I see you have been busy in the kitchen......keeps you out of mischief though.

We had a lazy start to the day with poached eggs on toast while we were out like Jane and Hannah! Then we did a 'William' and had a look around the shops in Wigston. OH always has a look at the charity shop books and he found himself a best seller football book, Roy Keane's The Second Half, that was only published 3 months ago at about £14 and he got it for £1.50 so he was well pleased with that. :-)

Everything is all ready for tomorrow now except the table being laid and OH is now tucking into the gammon with some pickles and pork pie, chicken and sausage rolls!! I just had a gammon sandwich.

He still hasn't set up the Blueray player we bought last spring, so I asked him to look at the instructions a few days ago to see if we needed to get any leads or anything. Well, he left it till tonight didn't he and and it took him ages to find the instructions as he'd taken them out of the box and yes, we do need a lead!! :-S

Mandy my fairy I had years ago had her undies illuminated too!! :-D I remember she wore a white crinkly paper dress, not like the posh silky dresses they have now. One year I even repainted her face to make her better looking........didn't work though. lol We have a homemade star now. OH shudders at the mere suggestion of a fairy. I have a pattern somewhere for a beaded fairy with a crystal beaded dress.....might do one for the top of the little tree next year and see if he notices it. ;-)

I'm back. Not such a good Christmas for the poor people in Glasgow, why is that these tragedies often occur so near the holiday? Also heard on the news that a couple have been killed when they were hit by a car while crossing the road in Manchester. I presume it was dangerous driving as it said the driver had been arrested. How awful, not just for the victims but for the knock-on effect for all the families.

Anyway, Carmel woke up earlier in a good mood and was ready for a bit of tea. We had toasted teacakes with figgy pudding jam - very tasty. We can leave all the festive stuff until tomorrow. Dorothy will be doing a dinner for the family at 4pm (based on history, this will be more like 5pm or so, who cares!). She texted me this morning to say she's made us a cake so thats a bonus too.

My daughter Mandy sent us a lovely hamper that arrived this morning, I'' send some photos when I get a chance.

Oh I love toasted teacakes William....I like marmalade on mine. :-)

Two things that made me smile this week. The first was a scarecrow in a field in a red Santa outfit. :-) The second was a sign in the co-*p at Nuneaton which said, " A Free Ride in a Police Car Will Be Given to Anyone Caught Shoplifting".

We shall open MIL's presents tonight. We'd leave presents till tomorrow normally, but she will ring first thing in the morning before we have even stirred so we need to know what to thank her for. OH will do the leaping out of bed to answer the phone thank goodness. She thinks everyone rises at 7.30am like she does.

Mel I hope my laptop is much speedier like yours is. I carried a laptop in my job to use at companies so was used to them, but when I got my desktop they weren't powerful enough for what I wanted and had smaller screens than they do now. Now the new laptop outstrips my old PC. How fast things move on.

I was looking to book our holiday to the same place in Cornwall again next year. But they seem to have installed hot tubs on half the lodges now and increased the price by 25% on all of them!! :-S Not sure what to do now as it was such a quiet, peaceful place with lots of wildlife, especially early in the year when we would go which is what suits us. Apart from the hike in price I can imagine it being a lot noisier now with people outdoors in the hot tubs in the evenings, especially when the wine is flowing. Maybe we should look at others before deciding as it might be the same elsewhere!

Well, <3 <3 <3 A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL <3 <3 <3 I'll bid you all goodnight as I have a date with Santa soon!! ;-) ;-) Hope you all have a good night's sleep and I'll pop in tomorrow sometime. :-)

That is me sorted now too Mandy.I feel quite pooped.I just want to drop into bed .But I am going to wait and watch Gogglebox.I just love that programme :-D

Ann I saw some girls on their horses yesterday and the leader horse had those covers on his ears(like the ones that keep flies off). But these were Reindeer Antlers !!!!!!.Poor horsey looked very daft.He must have been so embarrassed :-S

Frank it sounds like you have your exercise for the Xmas walking all that way. What lovely weather you have had.Better than the last time you were down in Torquay :-D

I am going to bow out now for tonight.Everyone seems to be fading fast here.
I am sure I will pop in in the morning but just in case I don't .....I wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS <3 <3 <3
Make sure there is no peeping tonight otherwise Santa won't visit ;-)

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE.

Good morning my dear FRIENDS, and of course KIM. SHIRLEY and RUBY who are far far away.

I was woken by lots of noise this morning, I was the last one up. We are all in dressing gowns and have had SMOKED SALMON on toast with Bucks FIZZ

I was in the kitchen most of the evening, doing veg. This morning I have prepared the Jersey Royals, Chestnuts, and washed and wiped up.

Loads of presents everywhere. ELLA doesn't know which way to turn for them. She is so excited.

Great morning here, Sunshine and light clouds. Not sure if I should walk this morning, as my leg feels very tired and aching.

Dinner about 3.00 pm. But if it's later who cares, we aren't going anywhere.

Have a good day everyone.

Love to you all.

Annx Report 25 Dec 2014 12:09

Afternoon All,

Sunny but cold here too. I should give your leg a bit of a rest today Frank, you don't want to overdo it and not be able to get up or downstairs!

Lovely smell of turkey now and the roasts are in! :-) OH is fiddling with his new satnav and carols are on like at Fiona's. Somehow I managed to get him TWO Matt books the same this year! I must have wrapped one then ordered another later!! :-S Still, it did make him laugh!! :-D

BBL, better go and do some basting......lunch may be a bit later with this oven.....things take longer, but who cares as Frank says!! We can please ourselves! :-D

Happy Christmas everyone - I've just sent an email with photos attached.

We have been awake since before dawn (worse than kids), been to Mass, had a slap up breakfast and will be at Dorothy's for dinner at 4pm (or 5 - or 6 ???)

I'll catch up again if we don't go to my daughter (Mandy) tomorrow. She sent us a super hamper which arrived first thing Christmas Eve, lots of lovely goodies in it and a very tasteful and useful box which Carmel has already laid claim to. She is in a lot of pain following her previous knee op and is not sure how she'll spend today. We are thinking of going over to see her in the next couple of days. She lives out in the sticks half way between Daventry and Banbury, an hours drive each way, but as her Dad you can image I'm worried about her.

Enough of that - have a lovely day everyone.

Hannah is coughing for England now and has a big box of tissues close at hand.
The sun is so bright we have had to pull the curtains.I would like it to be a bit duller when we sit down to eat so the table candles can actually be seen :-D
The oven is pinging so I had better see what is cooked now.
Enjoy your day everyone <3

Hope the starter ws a success Jane. I cooked my sausage rolls this morning and oh has already eaten about 7 and had prawns with his new chilli and mint mayo. That was in Santa's Pants with other pickles and olives.
