Annx Report 25 Dec 2014 19:59

I'd love to have seen that Mandy. :-) Whenever OH gets stuck with IT he says what we need is a 5 year old! :-) They pick these things up so quickly don't they.

I got some proper 4711 Eau de Cologne I used to love to dab on in the summer years ago but hadn't seen for years. Also a fabulous Beading Bible that covers everything. I've started a lovely jigsaw of the Yorkshire Dales, but there is so much 'green and brown' I think I need daylight or new specs. I wouldn't mind your bird Binoculars Jane, are they small ones you can put in your pocket? We wished we had some when we were in Anglesey. Two of our presents from a friend were wrapped in some beautiful white paper with dogs on it that were solid golden glitter. Well you should have seen the mess we made opening those.........there's gold glitter everywhere now. lol.

We didn't bother with breakfast or Christmas pud and I just had a mince pie and some fudge and 3 choccies for tea! The Turkey was so tender this time I couldn't lift it out of the tin without the wings and legs falling off, even with the huge wide forks with the long prongs that are specially for it. I think that high temperature cleaning blast I did a while back has normalised the temperature settings on the oven!

I did sausage rolls last night and they'd all gone by bedtime Mel, I think I had just 3. I don't know where they put them do you!

Off to watch Miranda we recorded now.

MillymollyAmanda Report 25 Dec 2014 20:25

It's because they all use tablets in school Ann ,the school has just bought tablets for every class in the school.
I bought that wrapping paper too from Te*co's , so i know what a mess it makes :-D i wrapped the presents and then had to hoover the table so i had to put the presents in a carrier bag !! and that's were they stayed ,son and DIL unwrapped the presents with them still in the carrier bag LOL

Well the Rose's chocolates are calling to me .....must go :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Frank

Frank Report 25 Dec 2014 21:54

Put those Chocs away Mandy. You know where the weight will go :-0 :-0 :-0

Dinner was lovely, No started here either. We had melons to cut, but everybody was more interested in the DINNER. We had pudding a couple of hours later.

I am in the kitchen, as they are watching East Enders, and recording Downton. Neither Jan or Jo watch it. So Ros will catch it tomorrow, unless she stats up late tonight.

Tomorrow is the Annual Swim, along the beach. It's starts at Mid Day. So providing the weather is O.K. we will all go along and see it.

Jan's other daughter is coming tomorrow, so we are all looking forward to the announcement about the BABY.

I'm off to bed for a read in a while. So goodnight to you all.

Frank

Frank Report 26 Dec 2014 10:42

Morning all, Evening Kim,

Where are you all. sleeping off all that food from yesterday.??

Not much to report. weather is damp and horrible, so if we go to the front today it will be by car.

Jo gave us a fright last night, she went to bed then had a sip of water and Couldn't BREATH She screamed for her mum, and everybody went running apart from me. I couldn't have hurried, even if I wanted too. She was fine , she had caught her breath and couldn't breath, ( THAT doesn't sound right)

Ella, is playing up (as usual) spoilt doesn't come into it. I don't know how I hold back from saying something. She will only eat what she wants. mainly sweets and chocolates. She hardly touched her dinner yesterday, and had one piece of smoked salmon last night.

Gillx Report 26 Dec 2014 11:09

Morning all

Well, yesterday was so busy I ended up in the kitchen from 12.30 to 5.30 cooking the turkey then making quiche's and sausage rolls along with sausages cheese and onions on sticks ready for tea time, then I had to pre-cook another turkey for today and in between all that I had a chat with our youngest daughter online as she couldn't make it here for Christmas. By the time hubby got in from work I was so tired. Mum and Sandra said they had a lovely day.

I recorded Downton so will probably watch that tomorrow as I have another Christmas dinner to do for today and probably more sausage rolls, hubby likes them so much there's hardly any left for today. ;-). I've had to hoover and polish this morning as there was so much glitter everywhere. It seems to have found it's way to almost every room, so it was easier to do the whole place.

An Annual swim in the sea, this time of year, that's going to be cold Frank, good job you're only watching ;-)

Bet you can't wait to hear about the baby <3.

I had to laugh Mandy when you said little Katie will help you with your Tablet, the little ones do put us to shame, but I suppose it's second nature to them. Still it was a lovely thing to say.

Sounds like everyone had lovely gifts and all of you had a good time.

Apparently the country is suppose to be getting snow this afternoon, hope it's not to bad for anyone having to travel. Should look pretty though.

Going to get the spuds and veg ready now.

Morning/Evening All
On a cold and frosty Boxing Day.Are we in for snow? I think I heard something about snow in the South West??

Well yesterday was a SMASHING day...literary .We had just had our starters which went down a treat :-D :-D then I asked Chris to lift out the Turkey etc from the top oven where everything was keeping hot..There was suddenly a big crash and then silence !
He had dragged the inner glass out from the drop down door and it just smashed to smithereens on the tiled floor :-S :-S :-S.I think he expected me to blow my top,but I stayed calm and we all helped brush up the glass ,and then I dished up and we all sat down to eat again :-D..In fact we were all in stitches except for poor Chris....He broke the big kitchen bin first thing in the morning too.

I am now going off to buy a new one.Not quite the thing I was expecting to do on Boxing Day lol.Hannah is not feeling up to going back to London today so it will now be first thing tomorrow morning. She is bunged up to the eyeballs with cold .Must get some Sudafed tabs too when I'm out.
I hope there are no disasters today .No cooking other than to heat up some nice rolls and fancy bread. The rest is cold.

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday with lots of nice pressies, and good food and wine :-D
Do let us know when you know about the baby Frank.Have you all put bets on??

Right off to get this bin and drugs for madam :-D..BBL

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Dec 2014 12:20

Afternoon all and evening Kim,

I did'nt wake up till 11.20am. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D I had been up in the night for a leak and it was still dark so went back to bed. Oh said he had been in three times and I heard him the last time he came in. I have just read your posts.

Jane it sounds like you really did have a SMASHING Christmas. As Gill said it was just as well the turkey did'nt follow the glass door otherwise you'd have had no dinner. These things always seem to happen at the wrong time. don't they? I am always cross if a glass in broken on the floor and keep looking to se if any slithers have been missed. It can go to places you would'nt think of looking like up in the air to the work surfaces. Bet he felt dreadfull. Did he break a third thing yesterday?

We still have presents to open today as we always save some.

Hope Jo is ok now Frank. It can be so frightening when you lose your breath like that. Now we shall all be waiting to hear the result of the baby's sex.

Gill you have been a busy girl with all the cooking and cleaning you have been doing. Hope Sandra liked her presents and enjoyed have nan there and now another Christmas with dad home too. Love to all and enjoy your day together.

Mandy I bet the children were worn out by the end of the day with all the excitment of their presents.

I had recorded Downton last night but other things too so I only got the first 3 mins. Thank goodness for iplayer on the vision box. did enjoy it as it was longer than the usual ones.

Must go and do some sorting out of the chickens now. It is wet and rainy here today. What I call a mucky day. We had a frost last night before I went to bed but I could'nt tell you whether it was there this morning or not!!!! It certainly was'nt by the time I arose.

Cold turkey for us today and I shall do Chips for oh if he wants them.

Jane

Jane Report 26 Dec 2014 13:55

Gill us girls seem to spend most of the day in the Kitchen don't we on Christmas day.
No the Turkey was safe as it was already carved but luckily Chris managed to grab everything just in time and was hanging on tight lol
I don't think he broke a third thing(well not that he has mentioned)

I have got a new bin now ,but it's not as big as the other one.The same style though. One of those push button tops.I bought James a new Duvet Cover and Pillow Cases for his bed and some batteries to go in my new cushion massager :-D.I shall be testing that out in a minute :-D.Then a quick trip to Asd* for Hannahs cold medicines.
I do hope she will be feeling better by first light on Sunday when she sets off for India.

It wasn't very busy out and about .I thought it would be crazy ,but thinking about it everyone will have gone to big places like Milton Keynes.Kettering doesn't have much to offer in the way of big shops.
It is 3 degrees outside and the sky is looking very grey.I wonder if the white stuff might just land here.

Mel you certainly had a long lie this morning.I did get up at 8.30 and came down to rinse off some Big prawns that I had defrosting in the fridge overnight for Jess.Yuk I do not like them :-S.I made a cup of tea for Chris and I and took them back up to bed but he was just getting up so brought his mug back downstairs.

I have a pic of Chris sweeping up the glass .He looks a honey with his paper hat on lol
I will forward it on.Thankfully it was safety glass so no nasty shards. There is a lot under the cooker though .So that will have to be pulled out at some point.

Gill you will be sick of the sight of Turkey soon lol.Big Buffet later for us.I have so much food in the fridge it is ridiculous.AND the amount of cheese that Chris has bought....well I won't go there! One is a very smelly one and everytime the fridge gets opened the smell comes right through to the lounge :-S It pongs.

James has put the batteries in this cushion for me .....It's lovely .I'm buzzing :-D :-D

Sounds like that was a good pressy then Jane. Enjoy your massage.

It has been raining here all day. The chickens look like drowoned rats and their run is literally running in water as it dos'nt seem to be going away but just alyin g on the earth.

Just had a phone call from my neighbour to ask if a fox has a chicken does it leave feathers about? I am afraid next door don't have their Clucky now........... :-( :-( :-( and the boy is at work and dos'nt know yet. I told her to pick up what feathers she can find and just say you hav'nt seen her.......................

Fiona dusting and hoovering on Boxing Day!!!.Not here lol.But the dishwasher has been as busy as yours I think .I dread to think now what it would be like with out it.

So Gill has the snow!!!.Gill I thought it looked quite likely here but it is raining :-S.I was really hoping for a few flakes.Lucky Sandra :-D :-D....I want some.

Chris disappeared ...I found him fast asleep on the bed.No Stamina !!
I have everything ready in the kitchen now just to be brought in and put in the table .Just need to pop the garlic bread and a Quiche in the oven.

Annx

Annx Report 26 Dec 2014 17:27

Afternoon All,

Oh I bet Sandra is really excited with the snow Gill. Just sleety rain here at the moment......I just checked after reading your post! :-D

I was up early and went to Grantham, 45 miles from here to the retail park, and have never seen it so busy first thing. I just managed to get a parking space and they'd only been open 15 minutes! OH decided to come over 2 hours later to have a bite to eat with me like he did last year and then go on to a match at Stamford. He couldn't find a space in the huge carpark and had to park along a road nearby. Luckily with 3 cafes there there were plenty of tables free. On the way back going across the top of the Vale of Belvoir the car kept beeping risk of ice. I saw a huntsman in pink over the top of one of the hedges and had forgotten they would be out today.

Poor Chris, did he have butter on his fingers? lol. I managed to break a clear p*rex plate getting the Turkey plate out to put the Turkey on yesterday. I'd got a bit of steam on my glasses from peering in the oven and somehow managed to lift the edge of the plate with the Turkey plate and it slid gracefully out of the side of the drawer and SMASH! Like Mel says, you are never sure you have swept it all up with the bits flying everywhere. I haven't broken 2 things YET though! I bet those doors don't come cheap Jane......MORE EXPENSE as Frank yould say. :-) Poor Hannah coming down with a cold just before her holiday. I hope it is one that clears up quickly. Your massage cushion sounds nice!

My word Gill, you were busy yesterday. I think you must have lots of energy......I would have run out of steam! I hope you enjoy your second Christmas lunch with your hubby today. We still haven't wanted any desserts yet.......too much grazing on nibbles and chocs.

I'd forgotten about little ones having them in school Mandy. I should know from what OH has said about the schools he deals with as he's mentioned it. Who would have thought years ago that our biggest challenge in the future would be keeping up with IT. :-S :-S

That must have been a shock in the night Frank, but good she was ok. What a cold day for that swim.....I just couldn't do that unless I was wearing a fur lined wetsuit!! :-)

We watched Call the Midwife and it was sad as Fiona said. We also saw Strictly, The Queen's Garden (very good!) Miranda, the Alan Davies Dog prog as well as the Battersea Dog's Home one. Downton is still recorded.

Just looked out again and it's SNOWING like mad like a blizzard!! I hope OH gets home ok.
