Morning all and evening Kim,
That must have been lovely Wiliam. I bet he was looking down and thinking he had had a very Christmassy send off.
Windy and that find rain today and I have to go shopping...........
I have been looking at my tree over the last few days and it would have been my grandads birthday on the 20th and thats the day his dad died. He also lost his mum before that in 1918 and a sister too.
Missing our Liz and I hope she does come back soon and that they have a smashing Christmas.

Morning my chatty friends, Evening Kim.
Was up at 5.30 this morning, had THREE MUGS OF TEA read my book till 8.00 when madam got up, she is still coughing her heart up. All I seem to do is sneeze. (about 20 times this morning)
What a lovely card from Ann, most unusual. !!!
Elizabeth when ever you feel like popping in, you will always be most welcome. I need some more women to "CHAT UP" :-D :-D :-D :-D Not really . I am very quiet and reserved, ask the others ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Jane that's not nice, you will decorate James bedroom when he leaves home lol
Ros did an excellent stir fry last night. But used a Cantonese sauce. on top of all the others she uses. Boy did it have a KICK. What with my beer on top, my white friend has been busy. :-D :-D :-D
Will, I can remember the last time I had FISH FINGERS, it was 1961. when I helped a cousin put up a fence in his garden, and his wife did F F. That was the first and last time. I love FISH of any sort, but can't stand F F. That together with other things I have only had one of including McD. Whimp#y Kentuck# fried chick#n and those horrible bread rolls filled with everything from the shop I can't think of.I do tend to be a meat and Veg man, with the odd Takeaway and Spag Bol. Sheep sh#t pie as Mel would say.
Shower time, see you later.

I hav'nt done sheep sh*t pie for a while Frank. Perhaps one this week..... I must buy some sping greens as I like that with it and lashings of the meat juices gravy.
The wiond here is very strong today and is blowing the fine rain along in clouds but it is not that cold funnily enough.
Oh won't eat fish fingers either and I hav'nt had them for about 27 years. My son used to like them but only the cod ones. I don't like what they call white fish as it is usually pollock.

I would have thought you would get a good choice of Fish locally Mel.
I do miss my SEA FISHING, as you knew what you caught was fresh and would be prepared and frozen with hours.
Mel, It's funny how dates have such a lot of memories. My day died on the 30th Jan 58. My daughter was born 30th Jan 64. When I moved up here my best friends b'day was the 30th Jan and his wife 22nd Aug. the same birth date as my DADs
Will, Sunday down the lane was such an experience. When we had a broody hen we would go the CLUB ROW and buy ONE DAY OLD CHICKS, to go under her.
When I worked in Cunard House , Leadenhall street, Wentworth Street was only a short walk away, and would spend time round a music shop listening to the latest hits, and bought all my Shirts, socks, underpants from the Market stalls. The office then moved round the corner to The Baltic Exchange in St. Mary Axe. almost opposite Lloyds Building. So we weren't far apart. We might have crossed paths and didn't know it :-D :-D :-D
The Tower Hill was another lunchtime destination, watching men get out of handcuffs and chains, tied in a sack. Another regular visitor to Tower Hill, if you remember his name was DOCTOR RONALD SOAPER he would gabble on about religion , and the state of the world. We would eat our sandwiches on the seats overlooking the Thames and sometimes would see Tower Bridge go up to let a ship through. Oh. Happy days.
Hedgehog is still feeding like mad, His dish was in the middle of the patio this morning with his calling cards all around. The mealworms and Spike food had all gone from his dish. WILL HE EVER STOP EATING AND GO TO SLEEP ???? This means I will have to ask someone to feed him while we are away. :-( :-(

Well Frank I was thinking the same as you will mine ever stop feeding and go to sleep for the rest of the winter. I hae eased off the food a bit as feeding a big can a day plus dried food is rather expensive and must cost me about a tenner a week. I keep forgetting to put some mealworms in a dish for them. They arrived yesterday and these have to last till past the new year. Might try a few in a clean dish tonight so they don't get away.

Had a lovely Christmas lunch with my coffee friends yesterday, and gave each other a little gift, I'm going to leave the presents till Christmas day, more for me to open then,
Hi To Elizabeth :-D :-D
We are still waiting to find out if Katherine has Coeliac Disease , she had a phone call from the Drs receptionist telling her that she had a vitamin D deficiency and that the doctor will give her a phone appointment before 12 noon tomorrow. to discuss her recent blood test, It's a good job A*da do gluten free foods , otherwise we would have to hunt and find them, I wonder if the health shop in town do gluten free products,
Time for a coffee, I need to finish of my Christmas present wrapping, only got a couple of adult ones to do.

Mel I did a sheep S##t pie on Monday, thinking it would be nice and soft for Lewis, but he didn't want to eat. So we had it Tuesday and I warmed a bit up for yesterday lunch.
I bet both Victoria and you will be glad when the new machine arrives Fiona, Saves all the lugging around with washing. Does she bring her own powder or is that down to good old MUM ????
Nor a very nice day for Jane, I hope she's not PUNTING UP THE RIVER. :-D :-D :-D She will certainly get the wind up her if she is ;-) ;-) ;-)
It's coming over very dark now. I think rain is on the cards.
Ros has taken her HUDL back to Tesc# It won't hold a charge for more than an hour. In the paper at the weekend someone wrote in about it, and was told to take it back, so that's what she's done. Any trouble and I will be on the web to their Customer services. DON'T MESS WITH FRANKIE BOY !!!!

Frank, if we ever meet up we will have a fine old time talking about the East City when we both worked there. I have exactly the same memories as you, lunchtimes spent on Tower Hill listening to orators, escapologists etc etc. What a rich life it was. I used to have to cut through Crutched Friars to get there and the bonded wine warehouses were built into the arches underneath Fenchurch Street Station and you could smell the wine in the air. There was a pub under there too which I think was called The Old Cheshire Cheese (?) and nearby was the Toc H building. The looking over Tower Hill was the headquarters of Trinity House. Funny how these memories never leave you.

The whatsit is going to hit the fan. The bloke at Tesc# said where's your receipt, without it we can't do anything. That's like waving a RED flag to a bull. I was straight onto the Customer Services by email, pointing out that under the Sale of goods act, it was not merchantable quality, and I want a replacement without any further delay. Will now wait for their response.
I just noticed an advert on the T.V. for these Money lenders (robbers) 974% interest. I think it's time the law was bought in to BAN this type of advertisement. It's just dragging these poor people into more and more debt. Some people just can't help themselves !!! and these people certainly don't help. !!!!
Boiled onion Roll for dinner tonight. For those who don't know what it is, I will explain. A suet pastry rolled out and stewing steak, onions, carrots, potatoes laid on it sprinkle with Bist# and roll up, roll in Greaseproof paper then a clean tea towel and tied up. Place in a large saucepan and boil for two/three hours. Fresh Veg on the side, What a blow out that will be about 7.00 pm.
See you later, if I can still move !!!!

Cor that sounds nice Frank can I come to dinner please?
We have lamb shanks sweet pots and spouts and carrot.
Got myself a coat in Bideford today from oh for Christmas. It is mauve, quite long and puffy in a sort of swede feel fabric and a bobble hat that matches quite well also in mauve. Did'nt see a handbag I wanted but I shall have a look in mOle Valley tomorrow.
Got my £25 off in Mo**isons today so that paid for two nice bottles of red wine that we like and a bottle of port with a bit left over for other things. Our favorite red Har*dys Crest was on offer half price and the port was marked down too.
I meant to ask Jane what she thought of the end of The Missing ?

Evening All From a totally cream crackered me.I'm on my knees :-S Chris is too.I don't think I will be able to stay awake to watch The Fall tonight. It will be on catch up tomorrow .
Mel I was so surprised at the ending of The Missing.I thought it was the last ,but now we will have to wait until the next series starts(whenever that might be.It is so good but they are dragging it out now :-S :-S
No punting today Frank lol.I'm staying well away from those things, after my showing myself up episode :-D.We did a lot of shopping, some Xmas presents, and other bits. Then I bought myself a new handbag and 2 pairs of legging/jegging trousers and 2 tops. All the clothes will be going back,as the tops didn't fit properly and the leggings make me look like Max Wall(not a good look). All from M&* so I can take them back here. Lunch was at Jamie's Italian .It was packed out and extremely noisy with everyone talking and the waters and chefs shouting and background music. We did have a nice meal though and a lovely glass of wine.Noted the name of it so i will have a scout around and see if I can find it locally. We could have bought a bottle there but at £28.50.....I don't think so.It's probably about a tenner in the shopsEven that is far more than I would normally pay but for a good wine I might splash out a bit :-D The building the restaurant is in is lovely with a domed roof and marble pillars. The toilets were old Thomas Crapper ones with an old fashioned cistern with the flush handle in the middle of that.To flush you pulled the handle a bit like a one armed bandit one :-D.I have not seen one like that before. I also bought myself some mascara .Not exciting really but I haven't been able to wear any eye make up for a while (since my eye started running and getting a red bit on the bottom lid.So thought I would try the Cliniqu* brand as it is supposed to be anti allergic .I have never paid so much for a mascara, but I think its worth giving it a try.If it works I might invest in some eyeshadows. There are occasions when a girl really needs to tart herself up a bit :-D
Frank I am sure you will be able to get Ros's Hudl sorted.Isn't that Tesc*s own brand? If it is then it is obvious it hasn't been bought anywhere else. Also if they know there is a problem they should be more accommodating and sort it.
I did have to laugh earlier. We got on the Park and Ride bus to go back to the car and within a few minutes I counted 5 people fast asleep lol. They must have all had a busy shopping day too.I was waiting to see if anyone drooled :-D
Chris bought a jar of Malt Extract (do do with his bread making). He just opened it for me to have a sniff........YUK it brought back memories of the dreaded VIROL that I used be given by tablespoon as a child :-S Disgusting stuff.
I keep looking at the time, thinking can I go to bed yet.But I am going to try and hold out a bit longer.

It's PIGGY FRANK. I have eaten so much that I can hardly move.
I'm on because I spoke to Shirl on SKYPE this afternoon. She sends her love. She can't get on the thread. When she goes into it they ask for her Password then won't accept it. She has been in touch with Genes but without any success.
She is having injections in BOTH EYES NOW. so not looking good (no pun intended) Her family are alright , but the eldest who is in the home, still hasn't settled. He isn't getting the help he needs in the night.(toilet)
Will, Those wine vaults smelt horrible as a young man. A girl from my office and I got quite close, and she would come over to Woodford on a Sunday from Rainham. The train home was from Fenchurch St. so I would go up to Liverpool St on my season ticket and walk her to Fenchurch Street. I wasn't a drinker in those days so that pub didn't mean much to me. But the old grey matter still has loads of memories.!!
Mandy, Ros filled up at Tesc# today and saved over £8.50 with her 20p off. She couldn't get another drop in the tank. !!!
You are doing well Mel, a new computer and a new coat and hat.
I had another present turn up this morning for Ros Ester L make up bag filled with various makeups. What with het bracelet, new coat AND HAT and other bits she will have plenty to open at Christmas. I did say the Bracelet was for B'day and xmas. !!!! <3 <3 <3
Ros missed one week so didn't get her £25.00 but she did get a voucher for £15.00 which she gave to Martine., to buy a few extra for them.
All washed up and cleared away, so will settle down for a bit of Tele.

I think I have 22p off a litre of petrol ,but you can only use 20p and the rest carried over.It is good, and especially with the petrol prices dropping like they have.I give James my Clubcard so he can fill his car with my 20p a litre off.He uses so much petrol going to and from work each week and i just tootle around ,so I let him have the benefit.
Frank I hope you don't suffer tonight after being Mr Piggy.Your white friend will be fed up with you sitting on it so much :-S Nice pressies for Ros then :-D :-D
Mel you will be looking very smart in your new coat and hat :-D The colour sounds lovely. I think it must be really windy outside.I can hear things a blown'.I just want to be tucked up in bed.I can hear Chris yawning and James has just had a bath and says he is off soon.He has had a bit of a stressful day at work I think, with internet playing up or something and causing all sorts of problems. So it is going to be lights out early for all of us this evening.
Ann your decorated Candle is just FAB :-D :-D

Dear William, Frank, Fiona and Milly Molly Amanda
Hello
Thank you very much for the kind welcome.
To answer Mel's question, I live in the East End of London.
A small cockney sparrow!
I have been researching my ancestors on the genealogy websites for about 6 years.
I enjoyed history at school and this has been an extension of my curiosity to find ancestors, to learn about their lives, where they worked and travelled.
The historic customs associated with different regions in the UK fascinate me.
Its a great feeling when you finally locate a piece of information and another part of the jigsaw is complete.
Take gentle care With best wishes Love from Elizabeth, xx

Hi Elizabeth .It is so addictive this searching and finding out things about ancestors isn't it.I have only been doing things in dribs and drabs and flit from lot to another so am very disorganised .I keep going off on a tangent and get all mixed up lol But it is fun and interesting especially when you get your teeth into something:-)
I am still clock watching ,and now actually feel a bit more awake so I might just make it it to watch The Fall.(It might just be wishful thinking though)

Evening All,
Jane you did make me laugh with your Max Wall leggings/jeggings! lol. It's just the sort of thing I do.......I have this image in my mind till I try things on, then this other, less flattering image appears in the mirror......Yikes!! It sounds like you had a good day out though and I haven't seen one of those toilets with flushes like that either. Speaking of Max Wall, OH tried his new shoes on last night and came to show me. Well, he had his check jimjam trousers on as he had been watching the telly, so they were rolled up above his knees, then a hairy expanse of muscular calves (about the only bit of him that is muscular!) black socks pulled halfway up his shins, then these big clompy doc marten type shoes on his feet. As he was walking down the hall with his head bent over to look at them himself, his feet were at ten to two........I just couldn't keep my face straight!!! :-D :-D
It was noisy at Ullesthorpe Court where we ate today. We went really early thank goodness as there were only 4 tables that weren't reserved. We went to MIL's after and it looks like the stair lift will be fitted in the New Year. FIL seems to be ok on his new BP tablets which is good.
I saw a tiny artificial Christmas tree in the garden centre after and it was half price. As usual I wished I'd got it afterwards so am going back for it tomorrow if it's still there. I want it to stand on the drawers in the hall and then decorate it with just icicles hanging all over it. I thought it would look nice and a bit different.
Thanks for your lovely card William, so nice to see more of your art and drawing talent! :-)
Nice to see Elizabeth has come back to us.......all are very welcome here. :-)

We,ve got a stripy sky this morning. Blue white pale grey and darkl grey but the sun has popped out for a half a tick now and then. The patio is dry so it could'nt have rained in the night which makes a c hange.
May have to go to Holsworthy today for chicken food etc. and I need to go and see how the shop has got on with the rings.
