Evening all,
We've had a lovely sunny day after a bit of a misty start ,we've been sitting out again as it's been so warm .
I have felt quite upset today ,i read about some poor dogs that had been dumped on the side of the road in Norfolk ,they were found by a lady who at first thought the dog was a sheep ,it's fur was so matted it just clung in big clumps all over his body ,they were thin and in the end they found nine wandering dogs in a terrible state on the road ,how could any one let the poor things get in such a state .
Mel i love the brooch and the little neck purse ,it must be really fiddly sewing all the beads round the edge . I got a bargain today i went to get some wool to knit Lewis a hat and gloves and i spotted a little tray with all coloured beads in for £2 -99 so i got one i thought the girls might like them .
How lovely for Larry to make his own Apple juice much better than just dumping the Apples , when we went to the tip the car in front of us had tubs and tubs of cooking apples they were dumping it seems such a shame when there must be people who could make use of them .
Sandra got you then Gill :-D :-D it's a wonder she could keep a straight face . She will have great fun watching the birds feeding ,you'll have to get her a bird book so she can spot witch birds come into the garden .
That's not good OH getting locked in like that Ann i don't think i would have liked that knowing i couldn't get out if i wanted to . No good doing the new exercise if you find it's making the knee worse.

All packed away and had a drink. Been out inthe garden and picked most of the aples off the Golden Delicous tree as I had a couple last night and they were lovely. I don't want the birds eating all those and I have left a lot of small ones on it and some up the top I can't reach.
It sounds like Sandra has had a whale of a time today fixing the bird tabel up with her dad. Gill you will have to get hubby to put some hook at the corners so she can hang things on there. I am sure the birds will soon find it and you can put some bread on it too. My wild birds get the fat out of the chops if I grill them on the crust of bread and they love it. I don't know if it has a tray with an edge on it but if it has get hubby to drill a couple of holes so the rain can drain off.
Cheeky girl drinking your vodka and coke !!
The suns been out this afternoon. It was trying to rain a bit when I left here but when I came out of Morrisons the sun was shining and its just gone in now as it getting dark.

Oh God Mandy! Were the poor dogs be able to be saved or were they too far gone? I just can never understand why people can just abandon animals like this. If they can't cope there is always somewhere they can take them.I am glad I didnt hear about that .I wouldn't be able to get it out of my head. I think I won't now from what you have described :-(. It is just so unnecessary . It is like dumping a load of rubbish :-( :-( Do you know what breed of dogs they were? It just makes you wonder what kind of people these are. Well they aren't human as far as I am concerned :-S You were lucky with your weather if you were able to sit out. No chance of doing that here.

Yes all saved Jane ,the vets cleaned them them all up and they've gone to the RSPCA,I should think they all had to be completely shaved of all their fur ,they looked to be big dogs but it was so hard to see what breed ,it was the eyes of one poor dog that got me ,they just looked so sad I could cry for them.
If you did want to see them have a look at Eastern Daily Press site .

How awful Mandy, I've just had a look, those poor dogs, how nice for everyone to help them and take them to a place of safety, they'll be looked after now. I hope if there were anymore wandering around they were found and taken to the vet. I hope the police find who's responsible and they are punished. My heart goes out to the poor dogs.

Morning all
Cloudy here today but I think it's going to be sunny later.
Just cleared Sandra's room so I can get on with the insulation. I ran out of time yesterday so hopefully it'll be done and dusted today.
Poor Sandra can't get into her room or the room she watches her programmes on. Luckily she records one programme in our bedroom so she's going to watch that and wrap up her Christmas presents while I do her room.
The nuts have gone onto the bird table so now she's waiting for the birds to arrive. I hope they don't take to long as she's bound to ask me how long they take and I don't know so can't give her an answer.
OH is going to drill some holes to let the rain drain away and put a couple of pieces of wood on the front and back as there are small gaps which we don't want to food to fall out of.
Well, I'd better make a start on the insulation, we put her bed back up last night so that's had to be taken down again this morning. I don't think OH is going to want to do that every day so it's up to me to get the whole job done today. See you all later.

Just finished helping Sandra sort out her Christmas presents, she's going to wrap up some for her nan, gran and aunt as well, I was going to do those as there from all of us but she kindly offered to do it and it'll keep her busy for a while as she watches her programme.
Well, the nuts have gone off the bird table, the squirrel spotted them and scoffed the lot. Sandra was as pleased as punch that something had gone on there. OH has bought some bird seed so when he's finished filling in the gaps and drilling some holes where the food goes to let the rain out I'll put some seeds on there. No doubt the squirrel will have them.......the cheeky minx.
OH has just gone in the loft to get some more Christmas paper for Sandra as I only had one pattern and she wants different ones, then I'll mix the paste and get on with her room. I needed to sort Sandra out first otherwise she'd of been bored once she'd watched her programme, so she's all sorted now and happily getting on with wrapping up the presents.

Good morning to you all,
OH WHAT A DAY YESTERDAY. :-| :-| :-| :-|
Ros had a terrible night on Monday, who she appeared Tuesday morning, sh looked like DEATH WARMED UP. I rang to Doctor o get her an appointment , Ros spoke to the receptionist who told her to ring 999. The lady at the other end asked various questions and said. Take 4 aspirin and crunch them in your mouth and swallow. NO WATER. Ten minutes later she said she could have a sip of water to clear her mouth.
The Ambulance was there in around 15 minutes, and after doing an ECG and various tests, got her in the Ambulance. THAT'S WHEN IT ALL WENT TITS UP. Excuse my expression. We arrived at A & E at 9.45 am. They look her for a blood test and X Ray. Put her back into the waiting area of A & E and there we sat for 3 hours. A doctor came and said we need to do another blood test, I thought i was from the blood they had already taken. this was at 1,30 pm OH NO.!!!! At 5.45 after being moved to another area, a nurse said YOU haven't had your blood test have you. ??I had better do it now. It takes three hours PLUS to get the results from the PHATH LAB. BUT I will mark it URGENT. At 8.00 pm Ros called the head nurse and said IF I DON'T get my results by 8.30 pm I WILL DISCHARGE MYSELF. 8.30 arrived and she told the nurse to get the discharge form ready, at the same time another nurse called out "ARE YOU MRS. BEDFORD" We have your blood results, they are all clear. We just need the doctor to see them, and then you can go home. When I asked how long that would be. She said anytime in the next TWO HOURS. !!!! With that Ros signed the form and was wheeled out to the EXIT. Carolyn was there to bring us home.
Fortunately, I had taken a Shepherds pie, I made and put in the freezer, out, and left to thaw, before going to hospital, so at least we had something to eat before going to bed.
I will hopefully catchup will the posts later .

That's disgusting Frank, how could they leave you all day like that. How is Ros today? I hope she's better than yesterday. Why did the doctor need to see the results if they were clear? Don't results go to your doctor, maybe you could ring him today and have a word about them. Are you going to put in a complaint? The last thing you both needed was to be sitting around all day. At least you had something to eat when you got home. I bet you were both shattered. I hope you both had a good nights sleep and are okay today.
OH is in a bad mood, I don't know why though. I need help putting the insulation up and he is flatly refusing, so I don't think it's going to be done today. I tried to do the little bit inside the window by myself but the insulation snapped in a few places so I don't think it can be used, I don't want to chance that happening on the larger pieces that go from top to bottom. It's not cheap so I don't want to waste anymore.
I asked him to get some Christmas paper out of the loft for Sandra and he moaned about that, saying it wasn't up there even though I explained what the box looked like. He finally found it after much reluctance. He had only moved it from where he thought it was, did I get an apology for him shouting at me......did I heck.
He then tried to do the bit of wood on the bird table and couldn't do that right, by then I was almost in tears with frustration, so that's not been done either.
I hate it when he gets in these moods, they happen quite often now. He used to be so kind and nice until his dad passed away then he turned and started arguing over silly things all the time. I don't know why he's like this and now he saying he can't get anything right so is refusing to do anything. He does tend to sulk so that's probably what he's going to do all day now.
It's Sandra I feel sorry for as he's letting her down. I wouldn't mind but they had a great day yesterday. He seems to have gone from hero to zero overnight. So it looks like we're going to have to put the bed back and hope he's in a better mood tomorrow. Unless he snaps out of it in the next couple of hours. I wouldn't mind but it's only 5 pieces and wouldn't take long to do.
I just feel like crying at the moment. All I wanted to do is sort Sandra's room out for her and to top it all off I've just noticed a load of mould on the ceiling in the back room, so that'll need sorting. It just seems to be one thing after another this year. I'll be glad when it's over......roll on next year, I hope it's a better one, not that it could get any worse than this ones been.
Sorry I just needed to vent a little I hope you all don't mind? I'll be okay when I've had a good cry.

You know you can rant and rave to us any time Gill thats what this thread is for now.
Frank that is really disgusting the hosp leaving you all day like that. Did they say what was wrong with Ros in the end and did they give you anything to eat or drink while you were there. As Ros was a patient they should have given her something to eat they used to with mum when she had to go early in the morning. She got a tray of food once with soup as well and I had that! I do hope she is better this morning and did you both sleep ok last night? we knew there must be something wrong with you not posting yesterday and were getting quite worried. Sending love to you both <3

Oh Gill, what is happening to your OH. ?? Is it that he is bored being at home all the time. Perhaps a job out of his present environment, will help him. You always say what great company he usually is. Perhaps a check up at the doctors would be advisable. If you can get him there. lol lol
I know there are times when I get very frustrated, being at home 24/7. and not being able to do things I want to do. It's try to say, you take your frustration out on the ones you love.
Ros had a terrible night last night, and spent most of it sitting on the sofa in the lounge. Th neck pain and her sciatica were plying up to the point that she took some of my strong PAINKILLERS.
When we got home last night the heating haven't come on. I increased the temp. but still no heat. The same this morning, so we are without HOT WATER apart from the shower which is electric. So it looks like something has gone wrong with the boiler, which is in the loft. I will have to ring Pete the Plumber, to see when he can look at it. I hope it's not a big EXPENSE.
GOOD LUCK with things at home Gill, will be thinking of you xxx.

Sorry to hear Ros had a bad night and is in pain, did your painkillers work? Although I wouldn't recommend she does that all the time. It must of been really bad though for her to do it this time. I don't suppose all that sitting around yesterday helped. I hope she feels better soon.
I hope you aren't without hot water and heating for long. I know how it feels, if you remember we had the same problem a few years back. I think you can get a new boiler for free from Warmfront. If you Google it all the information is on their website and I think there maybe other companies that do it to. We've had two new boilers in the past 10 years with Sandra being on the deeds and claiming DLA, so long as you have a benefit that qualifies you then it's all free. It's worth a phone call to find out more and would save you having to pay out for a new one if that's what you need.
Sorry about the rant earlier, I've had a good cry and feel a bit better now. I've even poured myself a vodka and coke........I know it's a bit early but I felt so frustrated at letting Sandra down, which wasn't my fault and the look on the poor girls face broke my heart, at least I'm a bit calmer now and OH has finally realised that it's Sandra who being treated badly not me so his mood was a waste of time and he has finally agreed to help me do her room.
I think it's because he's also realised he can't go to bed and neither can Sandra and I until the job is done as there are lots of things on our bed and in the spare bedroom. I don't think he wants to have to put Sandra's bed up and take it down again either, so all in all, what ever the reason is, he's calmed down and is going to help me now.
I see where you're coming from Frank, but he's been like this for almost six years now and he was working then, so I don't think it's not having a job and as for being bored here, he goes out all the time to visit his mates. It's Sandra and I that are stuck in doors almost every day. We've got used to it now and find things to do so it's not to bad anymore and when we do go out we appreciate it more with not going out very often. I think Sandra and I have only been out about 5 times all year, the rest of the time we're here on our own.
I've tried asking him to go to the doctors but he flatly refuses, saying there's nothing wrong. He just doesn't seem to see that he has changed and not for the good. He has trouble with his hearing and won't get that seen to and now he's losing his memory. I'm very worried about him but he just won't go to the doctors, so what can I do, I can't force him can I? The situation, because it's all the time, is starting to get me down and I can see Sandra isn't happy with him sometimes either. I wouldn't mind but we all had a great day yesterday, laughing and joking then today is the polar opposite. It can get very confusing as we never know what mood he's going to be in from day to day. I even thought it was his age and he was having a mid life crisis, but surely it wouldn't of gone on this long. I don't know maybe it does :-S :-S and at some point he'll go back to being the kind caring person he used to be.
Don't get me wrong he can be lovely when he puts his mind to it, but you can guarantee he'll be in a mood every week at least one or two days of it, sometimes more and it's really getting me and Sandra down now.
Well, I'd better go and make a start on Sandra's room before OH changes his mind.

Afternoon All
Oh Frank what a day you had yesterday.that does seem far too long for having just blood tests and an Xray. I asm not surprised Ros had had enough and signed herself out. Did the hospital actually come up with a possible reason why Ros had felf so ill. The fact she was told to chew some aspirins says to me they were worried there mught have been a clot going on somewhere. What a dreadful worry it must have been for both of you. I hope that with your painkillers she will be able to have a better nights sleep with much less pain. Have you managed to get the heating and hot water back on now?You wont be wanting ot be without that at the moment with Ros feeling so unwell.
Gill,I am so sorry you are having such a horrible day. No need to apologise for letting off steam here.Just writing everything down is a good bit of therapy and helping get things off your chest. You say how worried you are about OH. I am wondering if he might be worried too but just not saying anything and being in denial. It sounds very much like that to me. Typical Man :-S. You do spend a lot of time together too and I know if Chris and I were like that it would drive us both crazy and not making for a happy relationship . Sandra must feel the tension and not really understanding why her Dad is the way he is sometimes. I was shocked when I read that you and Sandra have only been out about 5 times this year. Surely this can't be good for you.Is there no where you could just go together for a few hours sometimes. I know you dont drive but is there a bus you could take to maybe just have a trip out somewhere no and again? Even an organised day coach trip . Just something to get you out of the house for a bit. I hope that things are now a bit more 'back to normal' and that OH helped you in the end and Sandra can sleep in her room.
It has been a much better day here and I have actually managed to get most of washing dry on the washing line.Chris has once again done the ironing :-D. He seems to have taken that job over which suits me nicely :-D. I didnt clear the leaves away from the drive today as Chris said to leave them until tomorrow when they might be a bit drier and he will collect them all and put for compost. He has had his suit out today and it needs altering as he has lost weight since he last wore it .The trousers especially are so baggy and nearly falling down !. We cant have that happening on the big day :-0. He needs to get his act together and make an appointment at the Tailors. I must remind James too to try his suit on. Mind you it is like talking to a brick wall sometimes :-S
I've just put one of those cook in the bag chickens in the oven (lemon and Garlic) . I will just have veg with mine but do potatoes for the men. I had a big bowl of Pea and Mint soup at lunchtime with a slice of toast so am not too hungry.
Just looking out the window and there is not a breath of wind. Nothing is moving except for load of gnats :-S. We have one very irritating fly in the house and just cant manage to get rid of it. It has even managed to stay clear of fly spray !! Stupid (clever ) thing.

There isn't anywhere around here for Sandra and I to go to apart from the next village and that's just charity shops Jane. I asked social services if there were any clubs Sandra could join but there isn't anything local. All they said was there's nothing they could do for her......talk about useless. Like I said we've got used to it now so it's not to bad. We can't take a bus there as it would cost nearly a tenner just to get there and another tenner to come home again, the prices are ridiculous.
OH did help me start Sandra's room but when I was outside I noticed the squirrel had been in my pots of bulbs and started eating them or taking them out, so I moved all 10 of them into the greenhouse and hurt my back so I've had to stop Sandra's room for today. She said she'd be okay on her mattress in the living room for tonight, at least she'll be warm as we have the fire on in there and I'll finish her room tomorrow.
You made me laugh when you were talking about the stupid (clever) fly. lol ;-) :-)
