Just spoken to Jane and she is delighted with the card I made for Hannah and Gareth and Chris said its brilliant. I am sooooooo pleased they like it and there's not another one in the world the same........ :-D

Evening All,

It was quite foggy here first thing and I was wishing I had my camera with me on the way to my beading buddies this morning. The trees in the mist looked lovely with the sun on them and a standard rose bush in someone's front garden looked so pretty with the spider webs all over it like garlands.

I hope Ros is in less pain now Frank. Pain does make you feel a bit grumpy when it wears you down. I hope your sister picks up and isn't in hospital for long.

Oh Mel, don't you feel daft when you get appointment dates wrong.....we've all been there as well! Lets hope the man who bought the land sticks to what he says and doesn't plant trees blocking your view.

Those felt brooches are lovely Mandy. I saw some nice ones on Pinterest too, but I still like Mel's with 'Wish' on it the best. Yes, I'm hoping to have a crack at the cracker! Once the lady has done the workshop for it she is sending me the pattern so I hope I can follow it! Are you making anything for Christmas? I remember your Christmas trees you made one year. I expect you have to watch Max with where you put things now......he's like a naughty toddler! My friend with the 2 Maine Coon cats is unsure whether to put her tree up this year as the kitten is very inquisitive and fearless so would soon be climbing it and causing mayhem! lol.

I wonder if the wallpaper paste has given you a sore throat Gill. I hope it doesn't get worse and it's good your OH has had a break with his friend. OH enjoys his footie trips and meeting some pals there. Mind you it seems to be all women he meets with the work he does! It's true we all have 'off' days as you say. I remember lining walls with the polystyrene roll at my old house and it did help, but you had to put the lining paper on afterwards then so it took me ages to do. I like your little Robin and expect Sandra is glued to the window watching the bird table now, bless her.

Jane, you've reminded me I should have picked my prescription up today! It will have to be Monday now. Fingers crossed the lady will say she can do your jacket when you see her on Tuesday. You're nearly all sorted with your outfit now.... just the fascinator.

We each buy a lottery ticket every other week and it was my turn to get one for last Saturday. OH asked me this morning if we'd won and I replied 'no'. 'I thought not' he said.............'you weren't PACKING'. lol :-D

Gillx

Gillx Report 19 Oct 2018 21:10

Thanks for the pictures Jane, is that the jacket you are thinking of having lined? Your dress is very pretty.

It sounds like the pain might be getting Ros down Frank, which might make her not feel her usual self.

The clocks go back next weekend Mandy (28th October). I was thinking the same as you this morning and wondering if it was this weekend, so I Googled it. Winter will soon be here, they say we're in for a bad winter this year. I wonder if that means snow, that'll please Sandra, you know what she's like with her snowmen.

Gillx Report 19 Oct 2018 21:19

Just noticed your post Ann. Yes, Sandra is glued to the window keeping an eye on her bird table, unfortunately the squirrel came back and ate all the bird seed which Sandra wasn't happy about, so I'm going to see if I can find some squirrel proof bird feeders (if they exist) then I can put nuts on the bird table for the squirrel and all the wildlife can have something to eat and Sandra will have the pleasure of watching them all.

I think I've got a cold or a virus as I've been coughing and sneezing all day and feel pretty rough, my throat is still playing me up. I had a bit of a sleep this afternoon which helped, but think I might have an early night. I hope I feel a bit better tomorrow or I'll be finishing Sandra's room off feeling ill. It's taken a lot longer than I thought and poor Sandra is sleeping on her mattress on the living room floor so I really need to get her room finished and back to normal for her, then I have the front spare bedroom to do.

Giggling after yur last bit of post Ann.

I had'nt seen that site with the brooches on Mandy so thanks for that. The only thing is though that most of the flowers on some of the brooches are ready cut and I like to do it all myself.

Did you see the price of those toadstool brooches £12.50. I think mine are better than those.

I have been trying to make a Wiccan ring thing today between other jobs. At least oh came out and said he would have toasted cheese sarnies so I shall have more time this evening to do something.

as Jane now has the card I will send a pic of the envelope I made for it to go in.

Jane Report 19 Oct 2018 21:46

I hope the little Robin keeps visiting the table Gill and that it encourages all the other little birds. Sandra will just love it :-D
Yes thats the jacket(although it is not actually a jacket) its more like a shrug /cape .The pics dont really show it properly.

LOL Ann,I would be packing if we won the lottery. I dream about it sometimes(wishful thinking).I Think we all hope it might be us. Someone wins so why not us.Just live in hope :-D I have plans to travel the world :-D :-D ;-) If only.
I have been thinking it is Thursday all day today :-S. Lord knows why. I keep telling myself it is SATURDAY tomorrow and not Friday.

Mel has done just done such a wonderful card with all lace and bits from my wedding dress :-D :-D LOVELY :-D :-D

Thomas is in :-D. I can go to bed and shut the back door now. Night Night x

Morning Frank and all,

Today is full of mist and mellow fruitfullness and the sun is trying to burn it off without much sucess yet. I shall be over the back with my camera if it does as some of the pics I wanted did'nt come out clear as I was in such a hurry.

Hope our Frank managed to get back to bed for a few more zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's. I thought I was going to have trouble sleeping when I went to bed last night but I think I dropped off quite quickly in the end.

Done it again forgot to post this and I have been out the back field taking more pictures.

Frank Report 20 Oct 2018 10:38

Morning again to you all,

I finally went back to bed at 4.30 am was awake again by 7.00

Fed the birds, showered and just had a phone call from my SIL. It appears that my Sister Mary has taken a turn for the worst. She has been rushed to another hospital with the "TWOS AND BLUES" going. Both her sons are rushing to the new location, from what Fran says, they have called for a VICAR. So things don't look good. I will keep you posted .

Ros has gone to meet Martine, under orders, that if she gets tired she must rest, and as soon as possible get home. I expect it's water of th DUCKS BACK. ;-) ;-)

Did you get the photo's you wanted Mel,??

Not a lot to say this morning as you can imagine. xxx

Gillx Report 20 Oct 2018 10:42

Morning all

Dry and bright here today

Sorry you didn't have a good nights sleep Frank, hope you have a better one tonight.

Did you manage to get some better pictures today Mel?

I'm expecting the POLICE to call around today as our neighbour 2 doors down over the road (the new people) were broken into last night. Their TV was taken and a few bits and bobs and they stole her car, although they didn't take his car. I didn't know anything about it until OH told Sandra and I this morning. He was going out to the shop for some milk and saw the neighbours in the street looking upset so asked them what had happened. Apparently they got in through the kitchen window.

I'm determined to finish Sandra's room today as I don't like the thought of her sleeping in the living room.

OH has just gone to our neighbour on this side to let him know what has happened as he has CCTV, you never know he might of caught something on it. OH's just got back and apparently another neighbour (next door to the one who's been robbed) was there and was telling everyone that they had taken the wing mirror off the robbed car and used that to open the window, not sure how though. There are footprints on the window sill on the outside. They took the car key off the key ring to the car they didn't take so the car can't be moved off the road, they took all kinds of electrical stuff, but thankfully didn't go upstairs. They have children, can you imagine how frightening that must of been when they got up this morning. Unfortunately our neighbours CCTV doesn't cover across the road, but if the police want to view the footage incase the robbers came on this side of the road, then they can.

Apparently the house alarm isn't connected to the patio doors that the robbers went in and out of, (the keys were in the lock on the inside) so maybe it was someone they knew. They've had lots of builders in and out since they moved in, leaving them on their own in the property while the couple were at work. I know they fell out with one of the builders over something and that's when we found out that the woman who lives there is a bit of a story teller, as she kept changing her story about the builder to different people, not realising that we all talk to each other.

Opening a window with a wing mirror sounds a bit far fetched, and we all think there's something dodgy going on as they took the second car key off the bunch of keys that had the house keys on, surely they wouldn't of wasted time doing that and wouldn't it of made a lot of noise, surely they would of just taken the whole bunch of keys? OH has just said they need a code to start the second car anyway. Time will tell I suppose if they're telling the truth. If it is true then I feel sorry for them, but she is definitely a weird woman.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 20 Oct 2018 11:05

O dear Gill not a nice thing to happen so close to home and near Christmas too. I hope they get the locks changed and get things sorted. You say she is wierd anyway, in what way?

I have never fancied going out and leaving people in the house to do work but I suppose needs must when the devil drives.

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Oct 2018 12:13

She's a story teller Mel, when she was having problems with the builder she told at least three different stories, two different ones to OH, so I don't really trust her. The police have been to theirs, but never went door to door, so we don't know what's happening yet. I just hope it's not fraud.

The poor old lady next door to her is worried sick as she lives on her own. I just get a feeling about the new girl that there's something not quite right, but I can't put my finger on it. OH feels the same, she just comes across as being very odd in the way she talks, and some of her stories don't quite add up. If she's telling the truth and she was broken into then I feel sorry for her, but at the moment OH and I aren't quite sure. Like I said time will tell I suppose.

I've just finished making the template for the last large piece of insulation so I'm going to have a cuppa then copy the shape over and put the insulation on the wall, there'll only be a small strip under the radiator to do then and it'll be finished. Hopefully it'll be dry enough for Sandra to move back in tonight.

OH and I don't like the idea of her sleeping in the living room, just incase the break in over the road was genuine. I'm just grateful we have two 7 foot high gates down the side of us, the first one you need a key to open and has two bolts on it and the one further down has big bolts on it to, plus if the first one does get opened or someone tries to climb over it our security light will go off, so if Sandra is back in her room she'll see the light and wake us up.

Going to get my cuppa now and get back to the insulation, the sooner it's done the quicker it'll dry.

Annx Report 20 Oct 2018 12:37

Afternoon All,

Nice and sunny here so I'm nipping out soon with my camera as my worst knee seems a bit better today.

I love the envelope Mel, you have done it so nicely. They will be surprised how lovely both the card and envelope are. I think your toadstool brooches are nicer than some others too.

Oh Gill what a nasty thing to happen for your neighbours! It all sounds a bit strange......had they left the keys on the inside of the patio lock themselves? They were obviously after the electrical stuff which they would be able to sell it easy with Christmas coming soon. They need to be very mindful now that some of these burglaries are done with future intentions. They steal a telly and laptops because they want the new replacements the victims will buy and will come back for those in a few weeks. :-0 I sometimes wonder how much workmen talk to other mates about the houses they work at and what they see inside. You never know who knows who do you! I have gone out and left workmen from bigger local companies sometimes when OH was working and they have been there all week. It's hard to watch them all the time as it is. The trouble with alarms is that you have to get up in the night yourself so not all the zones can be activated and meandering half awake into the kitchen and a different active zone can be a rude awakening! lol.

It doesn't sound good with your sister Frank. At least she is in the best place to get any care she needs.

Jane Report 20 Oct 2018 13:44

Afternoon All

Frank,I am sorry to hear about your Sister. The fact the Vicar has been called does make it sound very serious.I am sure you are so worried and maybe that is why you were unable to sleep last night. At least your Sister will have her boys with her now.

Crumbs Gill.I hope it wasn't a break in across the way .If as you say the lady is a bit of a story teller maybe it is all made up and she is just trying to make a false claim . If it is true though it will have been pretty scary .I am sure the police will know one way or the other as to if it is all true or not. That bit about using the wing mirror to break in sounds very odd. We all have to be on our guard these days and as Ann said if you have workmen in you dont know what they tell others (even if innocently) .I have left our decorator and plumber in the house on their own before ,but I know them so well and trust them totally.I think anyone else though I would make sure either Chris or I am in.

Poor Jess had a dreadful scare on Thursday evening when she got back to her flat from Uni. The gate was open and the lights were on.Benjy was going nuts. It turns out that the landlord had just let himself in to do something.Jess thought it had been a burglar and was totally freaked out and rang James(at work :-S ) in tears. Obviously James couldn't do anything so got her to ring her Mum and she drove down to Canterbury to be with Jess. It is illegal I believe for a Landlord to just let themselves into a property like that with out prior warning. Jess could have been in the bath or naked when this chap waltzed in !.

I went to Asda this morning and for some reason (probably the soles of my shoes) I kept getting dreadful electric shocks when I touched some metal shelvings. You could even hear the 'crack' :-S. There is a new petrol station there now and the price of Diesel is £1.28 which is really cheap . The Shell garage at the top of our road it is £1.38. 10 pence difference is a lot.

The sun keeps coming and going here and when it is out it is so warm .Its a lovely day.
James went to Wicksteed Park earlier with his friend Jake and his little girl called Beaula. They fed the ducks and a Peacock which she loved.
Chinese home delivery for us tonight :-D. James is out at a musical evening in aid of Johnnys Happy Place.

Gillx

Gillx Report 20 Oct 2018 15:09

Sorry to hear about Jess Jane, what a horrible experience and poor Benjy would of wondered who the man was to. Pleased to hear it wasn't a brake in, but you are right the landlord needs to give noticed if he wants to gain access even though it's his property. I hope Jess is okay now.

Yes, Ann, they left the keys in the patio door and the TV was right next to it, they don't have any blinds so anyone could see right into their living room.
They've had the police and a lock smith around today. I feel bad thinking the worse and that she might be lying but she has told some weird stories since she moved in. If it's true though I do feel sorry for her and hope they don't come back, but like you say Ann, chances are they will come back for the new things.

OH has just gone next door with it being sold (there are still a few bit left to take out) and shut their bathroom window and also taken their keys out of their patio and back doors, I've text the ladies daughter to let her know what OH has done and that she can collect her keys from ours when she's ready.

Sorry to hear about your sister Frank.....Thinking of you <3

It's taken me all day to make a template of the last long piece of insulation and cut the insulation to shape so I can finally attach it to the wall. This job has been a pain from start to finish and I'll be glad when it's over. All the walls are wibbly wobbly and now I'm trying to get behind the radiator and around the window all at the same time......what a nightmare. Hopefully the insulation won't brake as I try to put it on the wall. Having a cuppa first before I do it. All that'll need doing then is a small strip along the bottom under the radiator and it'll be finished. I've never known a job take so long and I've still got the spare bedroom to do yet. :-|
Not looking forward to that as the walls are 8 foot high and I'm still not feeling 100%

Jane

Jane Report 20 Oct 2018 16:51

Some years ago now when Hannah was with an ex. They woke up to find 2 men coming up the stairs !!!!. Her Ex leapt out of bed and chased them off ,but to find they had taken one half of the patio door off and outside were the TV ,video ,and all sorts of other things just ready to be whipped away .It seemed that there had been a lot of break in that night on there close and car keys were taken in quite a few houses, a few cars gone too.I remember how shaken up Hannah was then.
So it looks like it really was a break in then Gill. That is good of OH to go next door and make sure everything is secure .
Leave the spare room Gill !!!!!! you have done enough now with getting Sandra's room sorted. You need to have a bit of a rest now before to tackle that job. I don't know where you get your energy from to be doing what has sounded such a difficult job. I think I would have thrown the towel in by now LOL

James has just got Thomas in . He spotted him heading out towards the road :-S He was just at the pavement when James managed to pick him up just in time . Thomas is now in a huff on his bed :-D.

I hope Ann has managed to get some lovely pics this afternoon :-D.She takes just the best photos.

Evening all,

Another nice day here and again we sat out in the sun for a while this afternoon ,we have done a little gardening we've dug out an old Honeysuckle that looked like it had died and replaced it with a nice pink rose from the font garden that was getting a big to tall so its now pinned back to the trellis .

Frank i'm sorry to read about your sister being so poorly today <3

So it does sound like it was a break in then Gill if they have changed the locks and the police came ,it must be awful to know people have been rummaging around while you are sleeping ,i hope they can be caught quickly before they do it to some one else .

Poor Jess that must have really frightened her and Benji too with the landlord just going in like that i don't think he should really do that ,makes you wonder if he's done it before !!

Oh Mel the envelope is really pretty ,it will go so well with the card and i think it's lovely that it has some of Jane's bit's and pieces from her dress and garter , you've done a great job on it .

I had quite a disturbed night last night ,in and out to the loo ,just get back in bed and have to go again , i don't know if it was some thing i had to eat but Coiln ate the same as me and so far he's been fine , i feel really tired today i think i'll be having an early night .

So much for a nice Chinese tonight. I have spent an hour trying to get through to place an order. Given up now and sent Chris off to the F&C shop. He has never done that before !!!!!. He must be starving LOL. I had to tell him which place go.I gave him my order of either Haddock or Cod(Haddock first choice) and I said mushy peas too. I have not had mushies since I don't know when.( not sure I really like them) but thought I would give them a go again.

Frank your poor sister I hope the boys got there so they could be with her whilst she is really unwell. <3

I have been playing this afternoon and finished a Wiccan wreathy thing. I am just about to start dinner as I did'nt realize what the time was when I made a coffee.

Sounds like they did have a break in then Gill. Best to be on the safe side and take all next doors keys into your place.
