That's from the famous "four candles/fork handles" sketch ja...x - absolutely brilliant. Ronnie Barker was pure genius at times.


You make me feel soooo old when you say you don't remember 1969...it doesn't seem that long ago to me!


Read an article in the Telegraph this by one of their young reporters. He was going on about how he had found some old postcards going 'all the way back to the 1960's" and how fascinating they were! He then went on to say "if there are such things as postcard collectors". Honest to goodness, what a limited knowledge of the world he has and how young and inexperienced it made him seem.

Ive just watched the two Ronnies sketch and was laughing so loud!

I do remember 1969 but not the sort of program I would have been allowed to watch at that age I was 11.

With regard to the weather - our day was much like yours, I think.

Cold and very windy this morning, then the torrential rain, then the afternoon was really hot and sunny and we have just had the most ginormous storm - Thunderbolts and lightening!!!!

We did get the snow here (well almost!! - GIANT hailstones!!)

All gone quiet now and the sun is shining and we have a lovely rainbow in the 'still very dark' sky !

Such strange weather indeed :-S

Which do you mean Gins? The 'o's and the 'four candles' are all part of the same sketch. It was set in a hardware shop.

Have you ever seen Morecambe and Wise with the breakfast scene to the music of the Stripper? May be on Youtube but don't know.

Dea, my friend really is improving. Her hair looked really nice today. When she was in hospital at the beginning of the year, it looked as though someone had been at it with pinking shears.

It's her birthday next week so her family are giving her a small party.

If he did'nt get an award he deserved one, he played the part brilliantly

I have just opened an e-mail from GR... is this your ancestor in the 1891 census ...Mary Torr YOB 1885 Ripley.. Location 1891 Belper, Ripley....

Now I don't think my head is stitched up at the back... but Mary Torr was born in 1885 in New Zealand which is a bleedin long way from Ripley...

Ripley's believe it or not....

Night all ~~~~~

For me the day has hardly begun... it is Saturday morning.

Coming back on the motorway yesterday when we got nearer to the city it was jam packed at 2.30pm and usually this does not happen till after the kids get out of school. Starts getting heavy about 3.15pm then I remembered it was Friday.... and in NZ every Friday is POETS day.

garbage will go out of the house tomorrow morning ............ we'll be able to put it right out for collection on August 2nd!
