re cleaning things

I use those soluble denture cleaning tablets for lots of things

Vases ..... fill with hot water, drop in a denture tablet, leave it overnight, add more hot water, and use a brush to gently wipe down the sides. Glass vases sparkle

............ this cleaning method is suggested by the Nova Scotia Glass company for all their very expensive crystal, but I've been doing it for about 20 years.

Coffee and tea mugs ............... as above, but you can use a sponge to wipe around

I wonder if Gins' shower head could be cleaned with the tablets??

...... put hot water in a large bowl or sink, add the tablet and soak the shower head for a couple of hours

I have used that technique of soaking some glass and ceramic objects when I wanted to clean the outside of them

I'm also helping less than I was, because there are so many people now doing it, and there is less and less that interests me

do get some interesting ones in the wee hours of the morning when the Aussies post.

Yes I think so Dea

When there were more boards I think some people just seemed to help on one board like yourself. Now they are all fighting to be first to answer and half the time I can't be bothered to post then have to delete because someone got there before me

I think you are quite right

JC for example used to stick mainly with TTF

I used to prefer Records and Tips, and TTF was my third choice

Unfortunately, I can't be here 'in the wee hours' when you two are about !!

Oh well, I will just have to go back to doing my own tree !!! - Not such a bad thing hey ???

Hi C

yes, I uploaded it last night

The lady sitting in the chair is OH's gt gt grandmother, b. in the 1820s ...... I have a studio photo of her as a young woman in about 1860.

The little girl standing is OH's grandmother Fanny, born 1877, and the one on ggrandma's knee is her sister Isabella about 2 years younger

Fanny died of colon cancer in the 1920s when OH's father was still in school, and Belle moved in to take care of her brother-in-law and nephew.

Belle collected and kept pictures of the family, obituary cards, those wedding cake cards, etc .................. and that is what we found in a little brown attache case that had remained unopened in our basement for 20 years. It's where I found this picture, and the 1860s one.
