This site is good if you want to be nosey

http://www.nethouseprices.com/

The house I live in was sold to the current owners for £86,000 in 2000

Dont think it goes back much further than that though

thanks for that jax

the house next to my grandfather's sold for £70,000 in July 2008

but granddad's was the corner house, and possibly a little larger.

No sign of anything earlier than 2000.

The house we lived in was sold for £12,000 in 2000 ...... I hope it had an indoor bathroom by then! And the house next door sold for $70,000 in Oct 2010. Thye were identical back in the day.

The last house I sold was in 2000 and that went for £165,000 should have held onto that one

£12,000 seems cheap the first house I bought was in 1982 and that was a two bed terraced ex council place and that was £24,000 sold for about £76,000 in 1997 but it did have a very nice bathroom.

Couple of days ago I gave a fair bit of info someone by pm because she was not given the info on a look up thread I decided to step in and help.

Pm opened within half an hour and 24 hours later no acknowledgement for what I sent.

So I sent a message saying I did'nt have to help as I was not asked but you had the time to read my pm and it is only common courtesy to reply or words to that affect.

Thats been opened too and still no thanks

Wonder why you bother sometimes

OH did much better yesterday .... took 2 bananas and a granola bar with him, and nibbled on those, as well as grabbing stuff from the "snack" trays

But they are going to have to increase the number of ceremonies!

I think they work on getting about 100-150 students through a 1½ hour ceremony, that may also include an Honorary Degree recipient, who of course gives a speech ........ but so many more students are now attending that they're getting close to 200

OH said he left the stage during one of the ceremonies, and found 2 of the janitors sitting waiting for the end ...... they complained to him that they didn't have time to clean between ceremonies. Most important, of course, being cleaning the toilets, and then the auditorium.

They hadn't finished the toilets when the "audience" for the next ceremony was being shown in!

Sounds like they need more staff as well as more ceremonies Sylvs.

Glad your OH got something to eat today...he must be run off his feet. Hope you gave him a foot massage when he got home...... :D

Just recovering from a visit from son, 2 grandkids and their 5 year old cousin. I DO know why it's best to have kids whilst you're young...lol

The poo bear returns!

I was going to report her latest post as a duplicate, but her posting history is such a tangle that it just isn't worth hoping that the powers that be would pay an iota of attention ...

Jax,

That Nethouseprices website is very interesting.

Being a nosey so and so I looked up some of my old residences. I discovered that one of them sold for £235,500 in 2007. When I bought it in 1980 it cost me £15,000. I sold it for £95,000 in 1999, perhaps I should have waited a bit longer.
