Looks like you lot have been innoculated with a gramphone needle as my mum used to say. Natter natter natter. ;-)

Thank you to everyone ~~~~~to my friend Victor, for your good wishes. Have had a good day and the family have just gone home. I think I've gorn deaf :-D

We put them through the torture of our 10 min wedding video which was originally made on cinefilm. My granddaughter turned to me and said "You haven't changed...you're still the same". What a very perceptive child.....lol

Now need to chill for a while methinks.

GR must get fed up with reviewing it and reinstating it......Bet we never know the reason it keeps copping an RR..Pointless to keep doing it I would have thought.

Congratulations on your 60th Cynthia!

LOL have got my grumpy pants on this morning and am fed up with vindictive, narrow minded individuals reporting for anything and anyone...

Aside from that, hope you are all well and I wanted to know if I could have the benefit fo your experience.

In my 'spare' time, I am a volunteer firie and am a leader of group of juniors in addition. I have one who is a constant distraction, and is starting to direct attention solely to themselves so the quieter ones never get a look in. He's been spoken to I would think about 8 times...short of booting him out, anyone have any ideas on how I could approach this in a positive manner? (The person is aged 13).

Persephone Report 30 Jun 2011 00:30

Get said 13 year old to stand up and give a talk about himself... and have the others rate his ability... or is this too harsh a treatment.
Can you find what he is good at and get him to work on that?

I solemnly declare that I do not give an iota or a stuff re anyone's spelling except Gins... I admit I was picking on her.. I thought anything "someone else can do" I can do better.

I also would like you all to know my lamp post is in Wellington and I live in Auckland so it is a long way to ply my trade. This is not a red light district, but it is not far from a fountain that plays with coloured lights... so if anyone is in need of a dousing.

Cyns you looked lovely in your wedding dress and I admire the way you sometimes wear your grundies, never let it be said that they lower the standard. Peak below your coat yes but on no occasion have you marred your impressive status.

Now I am off to arrange my lighting for the 1st of July celebrations.

ah well, I see the RR'er is at work again!

there are a few on General Chat who fail to see why this thread should exist, when they get told they shouldn't be answering ancestry questions on their chat threads.

One or two of them were quite vituperative about it a couple of weeks ago.

Nah .......... it couldn't be them

could it?

OH has just been to tell me proudly that he has boiled 3 eggs without letting them explode

................... and that he used the new pan we bought less than 3 hours ago.

I'm sorry that I can't suggest anything to help you other than what Persie has suggested

is he starved of attention at home?

Persephone

Persephone Report 30 Jun 2011 01:12

Hi Sylvia

How are you feeling after your experience yesterday?
Strangely I never get sore afterwards... but it is a performance, gravity is a problem between me and the x-ray plates and the person performing the service.

I still use the same pot to boil eggs that my mother had... it is so battered but it suffices. My mother also left the eggs to boil and then took two young relatives who were staying with her out to town. When they got home the little one said what's that stink Aunty A? One egg was very much stuck to the ceiling and the other one had been a messie jessie on the bench. I have also forgotten them... not too much mess when I remembered, bit of egg on the ceramic hob but the pot is getting very thin on the bottom and wobbles from being so uneven and dented.

As I said when I first came on this thread, I wondered why there were so many posts for a thread that had the original title....Glad I looked in.. :-)

Does one think that because Gins has now changed the title of the thread it should not be on this board and are having a go because of that? :-(

Just a thought.... I do have the odd one.

Persie

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 30 Jun 2011 01:48

that's a possible, Persie!

I must admit the last time he exploded the house, there was the most awful stink ....... but it was from the teflon coating of the pan, which let off all kinds of noxious fumes.

and that is why we throw the pans out ................. I don't think they are safe to use after the coating has been damaged.

TBH Persie, I am sore after yesterday .................. 3 or 4 of the xrays were of less than the full boob, so the edges of the plates were actually digging in to tissue. That is much more painful even that the "ordinary" one.

I'm quite surprised that I haven't shown any bruising!

I sometimes feel like asking the technicians if they don't get fed up of handling lumps of meat all day! :-D

I do hope they get to the "bottom" of all this Sylvs....

When I had the sewing machine biopsy... the two that did it fussed and fussed over me, I was seated and it was just like I was stitching myself... they wanted to put cushions behind me and on my lap and did I need coffee etc. I was the only one not worrying.

Next time I had the needle biopsy done when I was lying down after I had had ultrasound....The clinician did not know how to do it, she was doing the ultra sound so I asked her if David (my previous clinician) was around and he came down from wherever and talked her through it and again I was more relaxed than she was. I felt that I had been in there for hours and hours..Talk about onto it... I met the surgeon that day and both him and David rang me at work the next day and the surgeon said I have a gap tomorrow so you can come in then. I really had no time to think about it.
My work could not believe it, Mammogram check Wed, phone call Thurs, Operation Friday.... Weekend rest and back at work Monday.

Just about as quick a turn around as my lamp post LOL ;-)
