Actually Cynths - the 'appetite' will be raging for the next week or so - I have had to go back on the steroids again because I couldn't breath - they are starting to sort it out now but they don't half make you hungry :-D :-D

Gins and Dea-
Oh-I'm sure we'll be OK.
Just have to keep an eye on flooding problems. The wind- I cannot control. grin
Do wish I weren't a smoker, though. You start to feel very odd standing outside puffing away as a storm rages.

Speaking of which-Dea- curious to know (sorry if this has been discussed} are your "taste buds" affected by your meds?

Mo

Thinking about it Maureen, there is some sort of change!

I had some home made vegetable soup from the freezer yesterday which was from the same batch I had had before and it did taste somewhat overseasoned (which it wasn't!) and yet when I made a delicious 'beef stew' into which I put plenty of herbs, red wine, and practically a whole bulb of garlic, I couldn't taste any of them! - My husband said that he could, but I couldn't.

So, yes, they obviously do have an effect.

But, hey - they enable me to breath without struggling so I don't care :-D :-D

Dea,
Yup. Breathing does take first place.

Although -your food descriptions have my senses dancing all over the place.

The one "hurricane precaution" I did insist upon was that OH haul my potted basil plant indoors.

I will send you some of that stew over Maureen - Husband said that it really was delicious! - I know that the texture was VERY good - the beef just melted in the mouth !

You keep 'Basil' safe now !!

Dea-
Sweet Basil is fine.
I think I'm losing my mind, though. Who on earth would pour water into a plant that has no tray/dish under it? Mother Nature's floods are one thing ,,,,

About that stew-my address is:

Morning all, sunny and windy here - but nowt to what you're expecting Maureen!

Very sad that my beautiful black Hollyhock Niger has snapped in the wind. It was well over 10 foot tall and was staked, but the wind off the sea must have been too strong.
