Thank you Dearest Dea..........just what I needed - a lovely breakfast. :-D

I think our Sylvs is fair worn out with all the visitors and travelling she's doing....... :-S

I'm putting a marriage PowerPoint together ready for our Wedding Fayre later in the year. The photos I have been allowed to scan are marvellous. I am waiting for one from a lady in church - it's her aunt's wedding photo and is over 100 years old apparently!! :-0

Cool here too Dea.........but I think it is good enough to dry the washing.... :-D

Off for a browse....~~~

Phew caught up at last.

Gins that was a quiet day ;-)

tonight we are babysitting so no hospital visits. tomorrow got a new Sky box being fitted.

From Monday to Thursday next week got something on every day somedays two things.

We have dentist appointments on Tuesday (I thought it was Monday) which is just as well as I have broken a tooth :-(

Friday is the only day (so far) that we do not have an appointment somewhere OH has his hospital checkup on Thur)

We are hopefully off on holiday next Sunday.

Just to keep me busy my Aunts grandson is emailing me he wants help to do the FT as a surprise for his Mums 50th. Says he is finding it hard to find stuff on SP! He has done the paternal line which is also Scottish so how did he manage that :-S

I have given him some stuff but he says he is a generation further back than I have got have asked him twice to give me details of what he has and he hasn't yet.

Until he does no more info from me ;-)

I also haven't had time to sort out the box of photos that I have been trying to do all week.

Oh and just to keep us busy we will be fitting in visits to the hospital .

Worn out I am :-)

We're having

Halloumi topped with rosti and baked cornish camembert with a cranberry sauce on a bed of rocket

Is that called an 'infusion' or 'confusion'?

Linds.....sit down!

Dea

Dea Report 10 Aug 2013 18:11

Well, whichever 'fusion' it is Ginns, it sounds lovely !!

We are having a 'similar' thing but with no halloumi and no cranberries - salad leaves topped with goats cheese baked in breadcrumbs soaked in olive oil with a hint of garlic, then sprinkled with toasted pine nuts and chopped wallnuts.

Sounds good Dea....is your goats cheese mild, I hates the strong stuff!

Dea

Dea Report 10 Aug 2013 18:21

It is lovely and mild and soft and very creamy Ginns.

See, you don't need 'faces' to have a good meal

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 10 Aug 2013 19:10

Yuk. Yak. Yuk. Goats cheese and leaves.

Assorted meat chow mein in blackbean sauce for me :-D

Wandered round town with daughter today. Absolutely packed with odd items of 'entertainment' taking place. Definitely ear bashing stuff....... :-0

Have booked the Rug Doctor online ready for Monday. Am cleaning daughter's carpets as well as my own. She should be out so that will help... :-D

It is lovely Cynths - a light meal for a warm evening when you have been out for lunch earlier!!

Leaves drizzled with a nice olive oil and balsamic vingar dressing topped with that lovely warm melting cheese and all the little crunchie bits........ Mmmmmmmm :-D

You can't beat it !!! ;-) :-D :-D

Hi all

another sunny hot day ........ although there were very dark clouds around this morning. Plus heavy rain in some areas around Vancouver

The sun started breaking through about noon.

we went for morning coffee, then to the Rail Station, and got our tickets printed out.

I love the long tickets you get in this country ..................... one for each train you're taking.

so ................ 2 trains, plus the "paid" ticket = 3 tickets. Total length of ticket is about 18"

Also got my "non lactose food" sorted out for the first train ............... sandwiches only on there, and every one on the "sample menu" had some sort of cheese on them!

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 11 Aug 2013 08:01

Good morning all..........you sleepyheads!! :-D

Rise and shine! We have a brand new day ahead of us!

Okay, 'cos I will be getting ready to go you-know-where, a quick breakfast for you all.

Cereals
Porridge

Bacon - crispy for Dea

Tomatoes - grown in this country

Eggs - any which way for Gins

Sausages - from my lovely butcher

Mushrooms - fresh from the field

Hash browns/fried bread for that crunchiness

Toast a'plenty

Croissants

Crumpets

Tea, coffee, fruit juices.

Enjoy!

Takes apron off.

I CAN eat fairly rare steak Gins........... :-D :-D :-D

Dea, I have never, ever, fancied that sort of thing.........just doesn't appeal I'm afraid. :-(

Sylvs - mind you don't trip over that long ticket of yours.......... :-0

I agree about the 'non-lactose' diet. Both daughter and OH are allergic to cheese, which is very limiting at times. It's really frustrating, when eating out, to find that everything either has cheese IN it or ON it!

We occasionally buy a 'choose your own topping' pizza from Asda and I have to specify NO cheese on it please. It isn't the same for them, but it makes them feel as though they are, at least, having a pizza.

Daughter can't eat chocolate either - except for a couple of squares of the dark type. It can be hard to find a cake or biscuit which HASN'T got chocolate on in some places. She even has to ask before ordering carrot cakes as the 'frosting' may contain cream cheese. :-(

Must stop nattering ~~~~

Dea

Dea Report 11 Aug 2013 08:44

Good morning all :-)

Thanks for the lovely breakfast Cynths - I will have some of everything please with extra bacon <3 <3

Cynths - I DO like my meat but I could never eat a rare steak - mine has to be cooked all the way through !!

I know what you mean about not fancying the goats cheese thing but when I worked over in Spain, I was there such a lot that people would cook me 'special meals' and when you have been working in intense heat all day this sort of meal is wonderful, eaten outside and accompanied by a large glass of lovely chilled Cava................. just 'perfect' ;-) :-D :-D

I have many things nowadays which have been cooked for me in the past over there which I wouldn't have thought of trying before.
