Sleep well Sylvs and thank you for breakfast.

Interesting about the genetics thing..........I knew a family of parents with black hair who produced three daughters with bright red top knots! I was told it was quite common for that to happen......they were of Welsh origin - would that be a coincidence or ??

Occasionally you see in the new of a mixed race couple producing twins who have different coloured skin tone.

Then, of course, we move onto genetic disposition for illnesses and what can be inherited. Whole new can of worms.

Bit deep for a Thursday morning........so off to check on Dally etc.

Just seen them Cyn

Think most of it was done by pm 10th Dec. I think I will stay out of it this time.
I suggested she got the marriage cert to find out how old her grandfather was...so she has it now let someone else deal with it...The pm's drove me mad as I think they did you

Her name and title of the thread has three letters Gins.

Had to put new washing machine in today, well it was;nt a new one but one I bought 5 years ago but this house had appliances so has been in the garage for the last 18 months.

Hope they dont think we are going to leave it if we have to move out.

jax Report 10 Mar 2011 15:11

How old would you date this washing machine?

I am sure I bought a fridge freezer almost 20 years ago that looked like this

And got an illiterate nasty PM in return.

They don't teach the art of apologizing anymore, do they?

... Especially in the UK, I have observed, where the only thing anybody ever seems to be able to muster is "I apologize ... if I have offended" ...

I've virtually never heard that formulation anywhere on this side, and yet it's the only thing one ever sees here. Not: I apologize for wasting your time; not: I apologize for not reading the rules; not: I apologize for failing to acknowledge the time and effort you put into trying to help you. Wait until your bad manners are pointed out, and then say: "I apologize ... if I have offended" ...

jax

jax Report 10 Mar 2011 16:31

But you are used to nasty PM's JC

She drove me mad back in Dec, the purpose of getting the marriage cert was to find out their ages.....has she mentioned them.....No. Now she is guessing the age of her gt grandfather aghhhh

Yeah, I looked at that thread, you got the same response after she'd behaved like an inconsiderate cretin -- not "I'm so sorry for ...", but "how dare you speak to me ...". Cretin.

My mother decided to get her carpets cleaned this week. In the process of moving all her stuff out of the way in her tiny apt, she tripped and landed on her face on a coffee table, and broke her knee.

Not to go into all the other gawdawful crap happening in my life at the moment, but an incapacitated 80-yr-old mother 250 miles away isn't what I was hoping for this week. My sister lives w/in a mile of her but is really occupied with trying to keep their travel business (30 miles away) afloat. The granddaughters, 11 and 13, will be doing cat litter duty ...

Oh FBG -- do look at Success Stories. ;)

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 10 Mar 2011 16:53

I got one too Janey - it wasn't particularly nasty, just er...er....not terribly well put together shall I say???

I am SO sorry about your mum, she's my birthday friend. What an awful thing to happen to her. Did she hurt her face as well? Is there anyone else who can care for her during her incapacity......maybe home care or whatever you have in Canuckland?

I will have to find some more jokes for you to send her to try and keep her spirits up. Please send her my love and best wishes. Sorry you're having a bad time at the moment too.

However......perleeez.........FBG has enough haloes to last a lifetime so I ain't polishing anymore right now. Humph.

jax Report 10 Mar 2011 16:59

If you want FMP military stuff I can do that just ask me when the others have gorn to bed.

Dont know why I bother with the FB pages...Someone posted a photo of her gt grandparents asking if anyone had any connection on the Ancestry page.

I replied have you checked the trees on the said site.

Yes ect ect I was just wondering if anyone on facebook is also related x

Why make it sound like they hav'nt looked? have they contacted those people? who knows!!!

jax Report 10 Mar 2011 17:47

Thats what we got with the house and matching under the units fridge and a freezer plus a tumble dryer which is in the shed (dont think that works).

The lease says they are our responsability.....what does that mean if they are old? we were going to get someone out to look at it...but thought it would be wasted money so decided to use our own one.
