Just finished reading back. Jax I have the fb settings sorted so Dally and everyone else cannot see my friend list and only the bare minimum showing and same on OH. Thanks for your help with this.

JC I'm so sorry to hear of your mother's accident. It is really hard not living close by whilst she is incapacitated and such a huge worry. Apart from the physical injuries, she would have lost her confidence too. This is the biggest problem I have with my mother, lack of confidence.

I don't think Dally realises how much easier on here it is to keep track of posts so making look ups far more successful. About a month ago on FMP fb page there was someone with a picture of their relative and I know I have seen that picture before whilst looking for my Regimental Sergeant Major who had a DCM. I went to check but the page moved down so fast it was virtually impossible to keep track of the thread. Even now it still bugs me and I keep retracing my steps on my military searches. When I eventually find it I will post it on there with a hope that she sees it.

Went to check the rest of the house ............. and saw an electricity company vehicle with a man up the pole at the corner


yep, they'd turned off the power without any wanring


cam back on in about 10 minutes .......... just as the man said when I went out to ask



spent the next half-hour correcting clocks, radios, etc ..... and have left the difficult ones for OH :)))

Yeah I think your right there Sylvia. How can someone who uses the site so infrequently criticise it?

EDIT; I've decided not to respond to any of her posts whether directed at me or not. It may make me appear ill mannered but better that than enter into a conversation with her so that she can twist what is said. But then again she talks to herself quite a lot so she most probably wouldn't notice lol

The thing is, she doesn't use this site, because she can't get on ........ or so she claims!

she does believe everything bad that anyone says on that gr wall, and there are some of the nasties on there. Some who have been permanently banned from gr because of things they did, mainly on chat.


I'm only responding at the moment because she accused ja...x and I of being bullies, intimidating and harassing her, and of being hypocrites.

I've now reported that post as she has refused to apologise and remove the post.

we'll see what happens next.

I forwarded my mum's email to No.1 with the brief intro

"just what everybody needed" ... meaning, as if life weren't crap enough, look at this.

Except I didn't send it to No.1, I sent it to my mum. Oh, kewl. So fortunately I realized it almost right away and wrote back and said didn't that sound heartless! and it was just meant to sound kinda despondent, but she wasn't despondent, so I shouldn't be, right?


So here's my mum's reply -- for anybody whose mum hasn't made her feel guilty lately, I'm happy to share mine. ;)


Don't be despondent and don't worry, I'm not! Yesterday I was a little down wondering if I could handle this, but today I feel much better about things. I've dealt with a lot of things over the years what with kids, parents & inlaws,husband and friends and I think I've done well enough with it all, so why stop now?

Don't think about coming, I went into the kitchen a while ago and had a nice dish of beets, yum, and so good for you, a glass of V 8 and some yogurt then I went potty and got on to the couch and put TCM on [old movie channel] and there you go. Oh yes, Reta just brought me 6 lemon cupcakes! She delivered some to Peggy and me, she likes looking after people. I've had one already!

So go and work and don't make me feel bad about being careless, O.K.?


Reta is her nice next-door neighbour, a big tall Englishwoman with cropped white hair, and lovely manners. ;)

She does'nt seem to understand we were trying to help re the not being able to access the site.

I'm no computer person but surely there would be a lot more people having problems if it was down to GR.

10,000+ that like that page (not that it means a thing) surely there would be a lot more than a handful that were having problems?

I haven't seen that post, I don't think she's on the same planet as the rest of us. I don't believe she can't access the site, I think she jumped on P bandwagon. If I couldn't access the site, like P, I would be explaining my specific problem, and requesting a solution. I haven't seen her do this. She mentions it in passing but never directs her posts to GR.

I'll go and have a look on the other side

She sounds one fantastic lady JC, I guess you're very proud of her. Quite indomitable in fact. She should have been British because she is showing good old British spirit.....lol

Had a couple to view about 10 days ago --- hes was dutch she was spanish looking for a house for his dutch parents

Flew in from England one day viewed and flew back the next day -- telling agent he will be back in contact ----who knows

More concerned about re homing the cats -- as we can come back to UK and leave house but not the cats

So difficult
