Rob,

You seem to have discovered the sort of joke that tickles these ladies sense of humour so I will pitch one in as well.

THE SAGA OF BERT & MARGARET

Bert always wanted a pair of authentic cowboy boots, so, seeing some on sale, he bought them and wore them home.

Walking proudly, he sauntered into the kitchen and said to his wife, "Notice anything different about me?"

Margaret looked him over. "Nope."

Frustrated, Bert stormed off into the bathroom, undressed and walked back into the kitchen completely naked except for the boots.

Again he asked Margaret, a little louder this time, "Notice anything different NOW?"

Margaret looked up and said in her best deadpan, "Bert, what's different? It's hanging down today, it was hanging down yesterday, it'll be hanging down again tomorrow.

"Furious, Bert yelled, "AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT'S HANGING DOWN, MARGARET?"

"Nope. Not a clue", she replied.

"IT'S HANGING DOWN, BECAUSE IT'S LOOKING AT MY NEW BOOTS!!!!"

Without missing a beat Margaret replied, "Shoulda bought a hat, Bert. Shoulda bought a hat."

I'm supposed to be working ... so ...

I have just got about half way through adding comments to the 48 TREES at Ancestry that have my greatx4 grandparents in a little parish in Cornwall in the mid-late 1700s as the parents of somebody born in Tennessee.

48 morons. Unbelievable.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 16 Mar 2011 02:57

that's incredible, JC!

Hope at least some of them react by removing your gx4 grandparents from their trees.

JaneyCanuck

JaneyCanuck Report 16 Mar 2011 03:42

And 48 more will immediately sprout, as more stupid people get sucked in by Ancestry's ads and "build" their instant tree, composed of my ancestors served up by Ancestry as helpful "hints" ...

Gee

Gee Report 16 Mar 2011 07:08

Just read JCs posts....dont people want to verify info before they stick people into their tree?

My cousin in Atlanta copied my tree but I sent him scanned certificates for his file....you do need proof!

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 16 Mar 2011 07:22

Sorry about the news from the physio Sylvs.........:(

However.....thank you for the breakfast........:)

I'm still learning about Ancestry but have noticed on the 'hints' they give me re my paternal family, Ancestry state them as having them as having been born in Wycombe, Bucks, Pennsylvania, United States. I see that some of my links have copied it blindly. Maybe I should do a Janey and contact them?

Manic day......~~~~~~~~
