Morning all.

Just been ironing for 2 hours, so no exercise for me today.

Linda, stop for a minute. I too rushed around like a mad thing when my Mum was very ill.

just stop for a few minutes and give yourself five. If you make yourself ill you will be no good to anyone. Of course your parents are very important, but you need to look after yourself too. Make sure you eat too. I made that mistake, and was running around on empty.

Hope everyone else is well.

Ta ta Rita. Have a good rest.

See ya later.

Aww Linda, I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling so low. It must be awful not being able to see your parents when they're both ill. Your mam will have to stay in hospital until your dad is out and able to look after her again. The stress won't be helping him either.

There's nothing you can do about it at the moment but that won't help the way you're feeling. Your husband will take you over there on his next day off. In the meantime I'm sure your sister will be with them as much as she can be, so they won't be alone.

We've got the sun today, we had rain all day yesterday - gave the garden a good drink. I'll be able to get some washing on the line today though.

Hope you have a good time Rita, try not to get too upset about John, you had a lot of good times together.

Morning all.
Linda, I am sorry to hear your sad news about your parents, bless them both.
It's very hard living so far away from them, and not being able to pop in and visit them, as I know you want to.
They are both in the best place for them at the moment, with all the care that they need love.
Stay strong Linda, and when you see them, give them extra cuddles from us all. Make sure you keep your energy levels up as well.

Marilyn, what a shame about the fete being a wash out. It takes some organising getting these things up and running in the first place, only to have them washed down he drain like this, is a dissaster.

Maddie, two hours of ironing is excercise in itself love.
My excercise for today, will be me throwing my arrows at the dart board.
No, spears wont work i'm afraid, theres just not enough room for them.

Pauline, washing on the line!!, whats that then. It's been pouring it down here, and blowing a gale. The washing has had to go on the clothes horse again, in the spare bedroom. Thank goodness it dries well in there.
But theres nothing like air dried clothes,is there, they always smell so lovely and fresh, and a lot softer.

Going to get my bath now, speak to you later.

I bet I have missed Rita, but I will say have a lovely time all the same.

Were you lucky enough to have known some or all of your grandparents?

Some say that grandparents are essential for the mental health & stability of a nation. They have always held a place of honour in traditional societies. But in our modern society, grandparents are often shoved to the margins.

If your grandparents are still alive, when did you last visit them; write, phone or, even, e-mail them? Do so now because they are a treasure.

Dermot, I wish I could e.mail or phone my grandparents.
I lost my mums parents in 1952 and 1953 when I was six.
My Grandparents on dads side well, grandmother passed when my dad was a young child, and grandad died when I was nine.
The only method of communications with them now would be via a medium, or ouija board, and theres no way I would go down that route.

Hi Shelly.....

Evening all,
Dermot I would love to have known my grandparents better. On my mums side my gran and grandpa died when I was only 6 and within 6 weeks of each other and on my dads side my gran died when I was 24 and I never knew my grandad. ( My dad didn't know him either) He left the family home when dad was a little baby. I aim to find out about him though :-)

Been windy and pouring with rain all day :-( Did all the ironing, nearly 4 hours of it and then fell asleep in my chair so OH went and got us a chinese takeaway for tea.

Linda, i hope your parents are ok. It must be such a worry for you being some way from them. I hope they will both be home together soon and fully recovered. ((((hugs)))) to you and them.

Cath xx

Oooh Pat how sad not to be able to remember your grandparents.
I used to sleep with my nan, in her double bed, and grandad had a single bed in the other room.
It was lovely to snuggle down, and feel the warmth of nan's body, very comforting to a very tired child.
When we lost Nan, my aunt took over. She would wait till my uncle got up for his early shift on the railway, then carry me into her bed, where we would snuggle down together for a few hours before breakfast.

Shelly, theres not much on the box, so everyone has probably got visitors.
Good luck with the 1891 census. I'm still no further with my lot, so have given up for now.
