Mo in Kent Report 14 Jun 2011 08:52

Morning all.
Yippeeee I am back here. This maintenance work is driving us all crazy, why don't they inform us all that the whole site will be down for a day, and do all the work at one time. I am sure we would all rather it that way,at least then we would KNOW it's going to happen, rather than trying to log on only not to be able to.

Well it's another beautiful day here, the washing is nearly finished.
So like Maddie, I am of for my daily work out soon, down at the pool.
Ooooh I might change my mind and go shopping instead,as it's such a lovely day.
Haircut this afternoon, then a quick colour job, and back to my fabulous self
;-)

Linda I hope you find mum and dad feeling a little better today. And that you get on o.k at the nurses.

Maddie you be careful with those foxes, you dont want a bite from them.

Pat, you will have to stop shouting so much at work. I hope the croak clears up soon.

I hope Mrs Stephen gets better soon. You make sure you and Fluffy Paws look after her well Stephen, plenty of loving care is what is needed.

Morning to all late comers. Hopefully I will be back later.

If you are in prison, you are allowed a 25% Council Tax reduction.

However, if you are in prison because you failed to pay your Council Tax, you are not eligible for a reduction.

Any other 'odd' rules?

Dermot

Dermot Report 14 Jun 2011 14:08

There is a rule, I believe, that in order to be released from prison on parole, a convict must confess to his/her crime.

This produces the result that innocent inmates spend much longer in prison than the guilty, unless they are willing to confess to a crime they did not commit.

Dermot Report 14 Jun 2011 21:11

The worst nightmare for any parent must be the fear that the child they love might come into contact with a sexual predator.

It is not so long ago that the existence of paedophiles was a topic which never came up for discussion. Most of us, in those apparently happy days, were unaware of such men & women.

In recent years, however, we have had to come to terms with the realisation that child abuse has always taken place in various forms, leaving some of the victims emotionally scarred for life.

The sad fact, we are told, is that many incidents of abuse against children are perpetrated by members of their own families or trusted friends & neighbours. And abuse comes in many awful forms as highlighted recently in that Panorama TV programme.
