Afternoon all !
George.....Great stuff. A smashing feeling when a job starts coming together. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Rita.....Hope you've not been climbing any ladders today ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Did a winter service on one of the cars today. It also needed new brake pads.I quite enjoy doing those kind of jobs especially when I know that as I have worked on the car before I wont find Nuts and Bolts seized solid with rust. I always make sure that when i take things off that before I put them back I add a little grease to prevent them seizing. So job done and dusted. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Hello It's Rob Roy McBarr here,
Maddie,
I tried dressing up......they didn't like it.
I tried dressing down.....they liked it even less.
So I thought I'd play safe and put up Rob Roy ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
Nothing to beat a five minute snooze to recharge the battery :-) :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)

Evening everyone, I'm back from my Scottish jaunt :-) Stephen I thought of you when we went past Stirling castle ;-) I saw that bull. I must admit I didn't go wandering around. I went round Loch Lomond. I went to Luss. I did the Famous Grouse Experience. I waled round Edinburgh yesterday. It was an early start this morning and once I've unpacked I'm going to bed! The food was lovely and I must say that this was one of the best organised holidays I've ever been on. I saw lots of mountains with mist over them. Luckily I didn't see any snow. One thing though it's colder up north. We had a break at Gretna Green going up and I put my gloves on! It's definitley warmer down south.

I cannot beleive you have been to Scotland in such a short time ? five days ? you must be shattered with all that journey and walking. Pat.
George glad it has all gone well for you, as you say you save alot of money by doing things yourself. if you can ? . your be all ready water tight before the winter sets in.
Stephen Mc Barr your need to pin that kilt of your down if the weather gets too windy.
I have been watching "Strickly come dancing " followed by " Merlin " then I made a cup of Horlicks had that and a biscuit.
I shall have an early night tonight.

Pat, I wondered what you meant by 'waling' around Edinburgh, then Rita mentioned walking and I realised you just had a lazy finger.
Shelley, I am still trying to work out your avatar. Is is really your sit-upon?
Huia.

Morning friendlies, grey and cloudy down here but still warm. Pat welcome back :-D Not much planned for today, a little housework, clean out the animals and then maybe pull up some weeds. OH is doing the roast today so I can get on with "other stuff". How kind of him, lol. While on holiday my mother-in-law gave me 2 family bibles, I'm chuffed to bits, especially with the one from 1866. Will have to get stuck into it later. Hope everyone on friendly has a nice relaxing day. <3 <3 <3
Cath xx
P.S. Where did Shelly get that picture of my bum??????

Morning everyone.
It's quite dark here, I've still got the light on, I can usually turn it off at about 7am.
Looks like the rain's easing off a bit now.
Cath, I don't know what happened to my grandparents old family bibles................ I wish they'd been passed down to me. I had lots of cousins older than me so I suppose I wasn't first in line for anything that was being handed down.
Pleased you enjoyed your holiday Pat, do you think you'd go to Scotland again?
Huia, it took Shelly ages to paint that on herself. :-D :-D
Edit: My desk would be a lot tidier if I used that filing system Dermot.

Morning
What a lovely crisp day, sun makes all the difference when you wake in the morning. not sure I like having to put my lights on at 6 at night and pull the curtains, I feel all locked in. My deak is always tidy. I drive my family mad, they say why do you do these things running around after your own tail.?
when I go to bed at night I and put my things on the back of a chair. my skirt is hung up on a hanger along with my jumper . I usually clean the tops of the unit and cooker if used.before I sit to watch TV I do the washing and fold the things that need to be ironed and put the others folded things away in the drawers. I dont know why I do this.? I always think if something happened to me during the night at least when they come in my place is tidy. Yet I have not go a big posh place. just a small two bedroom flat
Last Christmas when one of my Doctors called in ( I had been in bed with flu and the doctors came in every few days.) . she went into the small kitchen to get me a glass of water. . and said, how nice I kept my kitchen.. she said hers is never as tidy. I said I have not used it for three days. and dont forget there is only me here.
I have been talking to my sister about next years holiday ( if I am still around ) I said I would like to go back to Devon or Somerset or Dorset,l so it looks like we will be heading that way. here I am talking about next years holiday and Christmas has not come yet.

George I always go to Portsmouth the the day when my sister is here. we make a day of it going by train leave here at 9.30 and get back about 8 at night, we have got to know the place well now.Southsea is a nice place to go for the day.
George I am not the sorts that has all the things in lines or order . My husband use to go mad at me, when he would have a lay in because he had worked either during the night or had a call out.he would get up tom use the toilet (why are man so long in there ) while he was there I would quickly whip the sheets of the bed and remake with clean one. so I could put them into the washing machine. I opened the bed and rusttles the sheets so he would think they were as he got out, thinking I had fooled him ?, he always knew. he still got in and went to sleep. lol
One of my Great Granddaughters MEGAN. told me over the phone she is going to Wales with her school on Monday, I said "it is snowing there. "she said she knows. I asked her what she would be doing while there. her reply was" climbing the rocks and pony trecking and lots of other sporty things." fancy the school taking children this time of the year. still they must know what they are doing. she c an hardly wait.
