Going in town, got fed up with sitting in the garden and talking to no one, got to get some more bits for the bathroom as I keep changing my mind on colour !!
I hope our Pauline is taking things a little better today although a funeral is not such a nice thing to look forward too. And its not until Friday ....oh a long wait.
So I'm off now ~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Afternoon everyone
Rita that little bit of slang made me laugh and I enjoyed your post about your dad and the butcher.
My dad used to tell me about his brother's dog, it used to run into the butchers and pinch any meat it could get hold of,the butcher would run down the street shouting at the dog. Some times my granddad would be late home from the pub and my nan had locked the door and he would climb thourgh an open window, the dog used to go for him and make such a racket with his barking, my uncle got into a lot of truoble over his dog.
It's been nice and sunny here and I got some h****w*** done earlier OH is at work and son is round his mates so I'm all on my lonesome

Hello Yvonne I can imagine the dog running off with a joint of meat and the Butcher chasing it, when you look back our grandparents must have had a lot of funny things going on in their lives . My Dad wrote most of his down so I am very lucky in that. In my Autobiography l am doing I have things written in it that makes my sister curl up laughing and she is a serious type of person we have lots of laughs when we are together.. I say things like do you remember when Mum said this or did this or Dad and we go on about it till we giggle all the time.
Dad did three pages of Willesden Charactors 1915 where he has a full page of the Butcher and one of the Fish monger and another of Hoppy Pearce who was the horse Doctor.
I have things from the war and from school and little bits that cropped up during my youth I was going to do some more of mine but got stuck into The Boer War during Queen Victoria rein in 1890 as my Grandfather was in that and I got so interested I left everything else so have a lot of catching up to do. Our weather has been warm and very sunny still is. Mo Marilyn was on about Cockney slang so I worked out what had happened this morning and changed it to some of the slang. l remember but l have forgotten most of it I know there was something about a Pony and Trap but forgot what that was perhaps Marilyn will look it up for me sometime.
Time for a cup of tea now
My son in Law has a virus but they said it is nothing to worry about they are pleased with his prgoress and give him sips of water now. he has so many tubes in him they told my daughter he is such a good patient he does everything they ask and he got up and walked on Crutches today. the trouble is he thinks he can do more than he can but if things go well they will put him into a ward tomorrow so fingers crossed.

Rita, shock horror ,pony and trap means cra*. Thats why they say when someone is talking a load off rubbish, they are talking a load off clap trap, a load of old shi*e. LOL
What she like Yvonne, she would get me hung. And will you please refrain from using that swear word h**sewor*. It's banned from here. LOL
I have been busy painting today. All the undercoating and glossing is now done upstairs and down. Tommorrow I am going OUT for the day, on my own. Perhaps then Roly will get down to doing something. Like starting on the emulsioning the ceiling and walls. Up to now everything has been done by Joe Bloggs here. And I am pee'd off now, especially when he tells me I have got paint on the door handle. He should be flamin grateful that I have done this much, cheeky blighter.
Rita it's good to hear your son in law is up and about. Have they said what type of virus he has got,and are they giving him meds to help clear it up.
I hope Pauline is coping. It must be so hard for her. But having her son to care for,may be helping her a little.
Is it this weekend that Linda comes back.

Dear All
Hello
Hope you are all okay.
I love the cockney rhyming slang! My kind of language!
I didn't think much of the England match last night! Maybe I am getting cranky, but there is an awful lot of football on.
Dear Rita.....I hope very much your son in law continues to make progress.
Dear Mo in Kent....stand up for your rights. girl! One day of painting is enough.
When I do some, a lot ends up on me glasses! Well, I am getting older!
Take care all Very best wsihes xx

Hello Elizabeth Hope you have had a nice weekend.like you the football has got me down. l have supported Chelsea since I was 17 years old so that was moons ago. but this TV sports is really getting me down it fine for people who love all sports but we have Tennis Football Cricket and Motor racing l did not mind this when I was young but when you get older you dont need all this. the films they put on were shown when I was a few years old and the others when I got married in 1952.I wish they would show something up to date for a change. Mo I did recall that Pony and Trap now. when I use to go to visit my Husbands Grans one lived in Grays Inn Road the other in Islington and Gran Martha use to take us to the Old Caldoian Market and she always brought us something a glass dish or a statue and she knew all the barrow boys as she called them some were getting on in age.but they were still barrow boys to her l use to hear them speaking and ask my husband on the way home what they meant. he knew all of it.but did not mention the rude bits. The only one was Pen and Ink (stink ) he use to say that as we went home passed a pig farm.( she says with a giggle. )
