Stephen, why do we have to leave from Heathrow, can't we leave from Newcastle?
I've been out shopping today as well Maddie, got some lovely new underwear (well, you never know!). I got some red nail varnish and a little bottle of black so I can put those flick things on my nails and a diamante pattern. Got the black eyeliner as well. Oh - and a long cigarette holder............don't smoke but I'll put a pretend ciggy in it.
Edit: Forgot to say, I got some of those long black evening gloves as well but it might be a bit too hot over there to wear them.

I think it is a lovely place My brother in Law is also in Golders Green crem. it is near to my sister and we go there when it is his birthday and Christmas..to take wreaths,

Pauline I was worried people might see it and make a note of the personel details on their trees even if they are not really connect to me. I have seen some of the threads that say so and so copied my details and is not connected to me. I know that GR have made mistakes and let someone see the trees without permission , that was why I asked.
But if you have your details on yours then i shall leave mine. Thanks for letting me know. Rita

It seems that the Indian builders have not got any further with the buildings and other things in the Olympia village. I wonder what will happen ? I saw on the news also that the head of our Olympics buildings has resigned. so I bet that causes problems. I hope we dont get left with egg on our faces.. we could really have done without this with all the other problems we have in Britain..
Getting back to the nitty gritty of our games. I dont wear nail polish so I am going to email Marilyn and ask can I borrow her stick on nails. ? I am going to take my yellow Marigold gloves because by the look of the toilet pan and shower they will need a good clean out. I better take a dozen toilet rolls along as well. because it looks as if we will have to use the buildings that are not finished we can take a few palaiases with us fill them with straw to sleep on. I hope they let me on the Jet plane with all this stuff..

I don't put details of living people on my tree Rita, just the dead ones. I can't see that it makes any difference if people copy the details that I have, they can be found on census records or BMD certificates. I don't mind sharing the info that I've found, if people ask me for a copy of a certificate - I just send them one. I'd rather people have the right info of my ancestors on their trees.

Rita, I have been out to Dehli, to check up on the hotel. You will love it. I have booked us all single en-suite rooms, they were getting full at the time of booking, so I hope you don't mind but I took the opportunity, and booked us up there and then. It sounds like we are having all the luxuries we could wish for, with a private jet,and beautiful rooms. I just hope we will get all the equipment stowed properly in the Jet.
Jean, it's a shame that your treatment time has to be extended, but it has been making you so ill, that this way it will give your body time to rest in between doses of chemo. Stay strong love, we are all behind you, every step of the way.

You don't need your Marigolds Rita, Mo went over there last week and sorted everything out for us. We're going into luxurious apartments, we aren't going to the same place the other athletes are going.

Rita, I would take a loo roll with you, just in case. It might be that old Izal stuff from years ago, or just cut up old news papers, but it should be luxury loo rolls for the price of the rooms. No need to take towels, they are supplied,as are all the bathroom neccessities, also toweling bathrobes. Come to think of it, the loo rolls should be covered under bathroom neccessities shouldn't they.
I have got my suitcase packed, just left my landing outfit out. All us Audrey Hepburns getting out of the jet will be a site to behold.

Shelly I am so sorry but you have started my day off well with a BIG LAUGH. I could see you standing there or should I say sitting feet up f rom the floor incase the Hairy one ran on your toes. do you want a couple of my conkers ? I dont know if they work. It appears these spiders come more when it is wet weather.
I expect that was why you got up early did you look about you as you walked around this morning incase ?
I use to carefully lift the washing bowl up from the sink incase one was under there. look all around the kitchen and even under my bed covers. You would have thought Marilyn would have taken that spider with her on holiday and dropped him somewhere far away where he would not find his way back. . Poor spider hiting with a shoe you know what they say
IF YOU WANT TO LIVE AND THRIVE LET THE SPIDER RUN ALIVE
Hello to everyone who comes onto this thread today we are getting smaller and smaller soon we will only be two. or three.

Hi everybody, it's a horrible day, really dark and tossing it down. Just as well I went for my run at 5.30 this morning before the rain started. Took a big stick with me this time, so I could clobber any beasties............good idea Mo.
I'm waiting for the plumber to come out because the handle's snapped off the cistern on the loo. Just as well we've got more than one. What's the bets I wait in all day and he turns up at 5pm? He's busy doing another job and not sure what time he'll get here. Don't want to ring anyone else because I know I can trust him, he does all our plumbing work for us.
I suppose I could pack for our trip while I'm waiting for him. I don't have a passport so one of you will have to sneak me in the country under a smock........with the food. No, I'm not going under one of the kilts.
Maddie, there's no way we'll look like Terry Thomas ..........well, not after we shave the tash off.
Shelly, I would have killed that spider as well, hubby tells me off for killing them, he just picks them up and puts them outside. I can't touch them, and can't just leave them - so I have to belt them with something. If it's just a little one I can get it with a feather duster and shake it outside................but not the big ones - they have to die!!
Rita, if you've clicked for the living people to be hidden on your tree, then they should be hidden, but if it worries you - you should take the info off. I don't have any info about living people on my tree. I have info on about my parents and grandparents, but it's only what anyone could find out if they researched them.

Hi Pauline I will take alook and see I have nothing to hide it is just that sometimes GR gives permission without asking that happened twice it was most likely an oversight. It is only about what regiments they were in in the Army and details of all Grandfather being in the Royal marines things like that.
I went to Waitrose this morning and there were loads of people on the drinks section in a queue I wonder why. when I got to check-out the women asked me why I had not any water in my basket I was jut going to say its not raining outside, then she said half of Woking have no water. one of the workman drilled through a pipe. I told her mine was Ok I had showered and had tea before I came out and washed my hands so I knew it was alright I have never seen such a rush since the war when we queued up for an orange or some meat.
Maddie.
She taught at Bell Lane School History and English.
The Waitrose in Temple ortune is very tiny but my sister shops there and M & S she goes to St Edwards Church the RC on the corner near the Crem.
No you have not offended me they are quiet posh around there. my sister there is nothing posh about her she is always helping people and talking to people mind you she does speak better than myself she went to University there is no airs and graces about her she has taught me so much about art and history she is full of knowledge I am very proud of her. she has come a long way considering we came f rom a very poor back gound.. I love her to bits.
Those arches we are speaking about in the film Nottinghill Hugh Grant went through them the w rong way he was suppose to come out looking over the Lake which in the film they showed you the Lake infact he would have come out in the part by Kenwood House where the seats are.. I always have a giggle when we go through those arches.
I better start doing my packing. I hope that Mo cleaned the rooms where we are staying othewise | will be CROSS with her.
