Hanging my dress up now, and will unpack properly in the morning. Just time to take off all the slap.

DELHI........INDIA

Better put that up so that they know where they are.

It's 10.45am local time, I take it that they are all having breakfast in their rooms and looking oh so casual about it.

Bobby, Tom and I finished up having a great laugh with the Customs boys.
They now think that a Haggis is a wild animal that roams the Scottish Hills and bleets in Gaelic.
Was really glad to get into bed last night I was dog tired.

One of my knees is all bruised and has finger imprints on it. Don't know how that happened.

Shopping and Sightseeing day for everyone.......Dont get lost.

Athletes Gala Dinner Tonight.....Don't miss it.

Pauline $(*-*)$

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 1 Oct 2010 07:08

You mean Haggis isn't an animal?

So what was that little hairy thing that was running around the plane?

I'm not sure what time it is, I'm all confused now. I thought we were up early but the local people are all acting like it's nearly lunch time.

The curry smells nice but it's a bit early in the day for me to eat that. I'm so used to Stephen making breakfast that I was expecting it to be all ready for us.

Had a phone call from Linda, she's on her way here, if she's had a sleep on the plane she'll be able to go straight out shopping with us when she gets here.

Did you all bring plenty of money?

Better go and look for something glamorous to wear to the shops, can't let the side down.

MotownGal Report 1 Oct 2010 07:14

Morning Everyone.

What an adventure that was. How wonderful. The jet, the photographers, the journey, the photographers at this end, and of course the limo to the Hotel.

Must say, it was a bit dark last night when we arrived and could not see too well what the Hotel was like.

I think it was best to put us girls in single rooms, so many clothes and shoes to sort out, dont want any arguments.

In the light of morning, I have looked out of the window.

Oh, but it is beautiful. The sun is shining, and my room overlooks an ornamental courtyard. There are beautiful exotic flowers everywhere, and the smell is wonderful. In the middle of the courtyard is a hugh fishpond. I can see hugh koy carp in it. There is a fountain in the middle to airate the water, and the peacefulness. A little gardener is out there with a hoe, just to keep everything tip-top. Thank you to whoever booked this Hotel.

I managed to tune in the tv to BBC24 this morning. Apparently it is raining over most of the British Isle. Not much chance of that here, it is very hot already. I guess it is getting on for mid-day, so we should expect the heat.

I shall give myself a few more minutes to get everything straight in this room, it looks like a bomb has hit it, before I go and knock on one of the others ladies' door .......................

See you all later.

Light rain at home now and heavy rain forecast for later. Good job I cut the back lawn before I went to the presentation, eh?

Have a good day everyone.

MotownGal Report 1 Oct 2010 08:43

Oooh er.

What exactly was in those Brownies last night. I must have wafted around in a haze this morning. lol
Terrible hunger, must have the 'munchies'

I was right about the courtyard, but on closer inspection you are correct, the fish have gone doolalee. Couple of frogs, and some old guy sitting contemplating his navel.

Anyone fancy getting a tuk-tuk into town, and looking at the shops. I promised myself a saree to take back with me. My sil wants a length of silk to hang on her wall. Anything else will be a bonus.

Mind the water in the bath Marilyn it is brown, and make a noise before going into the bathroom, snakes love the warm and damp.

Rita Report 1 Oct 2010 09:41

Linda congratulation on getting a certificate I wonder if we will see you in the News Paper ?

I am not happy I looked outside my window and all I saw was what looked like a building site bricks. cememt .and an excavator, there are men everywhere. working like mad.
The have so many tools and they are still building a brick wall, no idea what that can be ?
I dont know why you others have a garden outside your room. I am not having this I am going to have a sulk now.

If they dont change my room I am catching the next plane back home to Britian.

I looked at the menu. and they have currey meals with garlick bread for the meal tonight I hate Currey and Garlick.
I asked what was the alternative the reply was GO WITH OUT well that was what it sounded like I dont understand Indian.
I need a headache pil.

LOL Rita, you'll just have to live off the food we smuggled in. I think it's in Marilyn's room............well, she had the most luggage with her - so I think she must have been carrying the food.

Don't know how you ended up with a room at the back of the hotel when we all got rooms at the front, we'll send Mo down to complain about it, she's quite friendly with the manager.

Marilyn, why are you playing draughts with that Russian? The games don't start until Monday. Don't let him see all your moves already. I think our 3-legged race is on straight after your draughts match on Monday.

Shelly, we aren't training today, we're having a day off so we can all shop, shop, shop. You don't need any more practice anyway, you'll win easily.

I want a sari as well Maddie, can't wait to get to those shops. Think we'll need something bigger than a tuk tuk to put all our shopping in though, do they do stretch tuk-tuks?

Linda, I see you managed to get your photo in the paper already, well done on getting the certificate. Let's see if you can add a few gold medals to it.

Have you seen Mo anywhere? She went to bed last night and I haven't seen her since...............she can't still be asleep can she? Mind you, I'm not sure if that was her bedroom she went into, I thought that one was Stephen's room, and he did have a big smile on his face when I saw him this morning.

Where did Yvonne go to with that horse? She didn't take it to her room did she?

Mo in Kent Report 1 Oct 2010 11:23

Hello everyone.
Have you all just woken up. I have been on a trip to visit the Taj Mahal, ohhh it's beautiful.
Now whats this about your room being at the back of the hotel Rita, right I am going down to reception, I did not book a room at the back,so someones in for a right rollicking. I am not a happy bunny, I will not have Rita in a place where we can't keep an eye on her.
We know what she's like for the gentlemen, and we need to give them the once over first. We have all heard about about women who get taken for granted abroad.
Excuse me Pauline, but that was not Stephen entering my room last night,
that was the bellhop, he carried my suitcases up for me.
No curry for brekkie Rita and Linda, I have got porridge oats, and all cereals in my room. I will pop out and buy some bottled water in a minute,
then I can put the kettle on,and make us some instant oats.
We can pinch the milk and sugar from the dining room. Oh and can one of you find some china and cutlery for us.
Marilyn, that Russian was a spy for the Russian team, so watch what you say and do.
Yvonnes horse, has been given a lovely stable at the back of the hotel.
Any volunteers to go and feed it.
Shelly, the gym is in the basement of the hotel, you could meet Stephen down there, if you feel you need more training.
I think I will catch a tuc tuc and go and find Maddie and Pauline, just to make sure they barter the prices down.
But first I am going down to reception to give someone a roasting.

HAW THERE STEVIE!

A Scots voice booms out across the street.

My God! It's Andy Jamieson,,
Scotlands answer to Mr Universe, he's here on Holiday.

Stephen, Bobby and Tom quickly sign him up for
Team GR as a Wrestler.

He's staying at the same hotel....the girls should like that.

Hope they don't spend too much. Although at these cheap prices it would be hard to do that.
