Jane Report 15 Jan 2015 17:37

Oh ,he has arrived :-D :-D :-D :-D
Congratulations to you all Mandy <3 <3 <3 <3

Great names :-D....Oliver is my Jame's middle name too.I bet the children are so excited to have a baby brother,,especially Jake LOL He has waited long enough for one :-D :-D
Is this it now do you think ? or will there be a number 6 !!!...Your Son and DIL must have an awful lot of patience..I barely coped with just 2 .
I bet Lewis looks just like the rest of them.I don't think I know of a family where all the children are so alike.

I think I have killed the fire :-S. it's not looking too clever.

Frank I don't know what'product' was on Chris's hair but it felt all stiff :-S..I didn't sniff it either lol.I think he has his eyebrows trimmed up too as they look all neat and tidy :-D
They put mine to shame :-S.Time I made an appointment.

It's so nice to have another new Baby on the thread :-D :-D.Can anyone think of how many have been born since we started?

Annx Report 15 Jan 2015 17:53

Frank, when I had the cough/cold a few weeks before Christmas I felt too ill to get up at all one day and only got up for part of the next couple of days. The rest should help. They say sipping plenty of fluids helps too. Hopefully the antibiotics will be starting to take effect and she will begin to feel better soon. Sometimes with these things you feel not too bad in the morning , then feel shattered later in the day.

Well I've had a letter from my bank now about this Debt management Company and my credit card! :-S It must have been in the post when I rang them, but you can't be sure can you!! Anyway it has a name and address I shall be writing to now about it! ;-)

OH was pleased his car passed it's MOT today. He was convinced he would be forking out!! Well they did replace yet another bulb but they do that FOC now. While they were doing the MOT we nipped off to have a look at some Kias at another garage and I was surprised how much he liked them! There are a few other cars we want to look at and do a few test drives before making any decisions. I called at the car wash on the way home and 3 of the Polish chaps were working on my car at once. It was bitterly cold in the wind and they all had woolly hats on and still managed to smile though.

I made a nice thick vegetable soup this afternoon with broc, cabbage, onions, carrot, swede, parsnip, celery, sweetcorn, spring onion leaves, garlic, ginger, tomato paste, pepper, stock cubes and a dash of balsamic vinegar! I didn't think OH would want any without it having meat in it, but he polished off a big bowlful in no time with some crusty bread. There was enough to be able to freeze two portions for another time as well.

Back to beading tomorrow and I still haven't found the funnel. I think I will have to make a cardboard cone to use instead!

Jane

Jane Report 15 Jan 2015 18:20

Ann ,could you use one of the food bags with a zip top and just snip the bottom corner off to use. With a zip top at least the beads will not stray.Just a thought :-D
That was a relief then with no Expense with the MOT :-D.I don't think I have ever been in a Kia.I will be changing my car before long. But i do still like my Renaults.Maybe it is time I had a change.

Still wearing your tin hat I hope Frank...you cheeky boy.Old lady indeed :-| :-|.
All the talk of tasty soups and Beef is making me feel hungry now.....We have an other low calorie dinner each tonight :-S..I will be adding some extra veg :-D

We,ve had more thunder and lightening and hail and the leccy has gone out four times.

Jane

Jane Report 15 Jan 2015 19:36

Mel ,how long does the leccy go off for each time? Does it come back on ,on its own or do you have to reset trip switches?
It's just very blowy here and the sky still looks quite clear.
Eastenders just starting :-D

Frank

Frank Report 15 Jan 2015 20:08

"CONGRATULATION" to all the family of Lewis Oliver. Glad everything went according to plan. They have a bit to go to get to the size of my family 10. But you don't hear of BIG families any more. Just the odd ones, One was on her 13th I think I remember.!!!

Ros has been taking her Antibiotics for two days now, so they should be kicking in soon, I HOPE. !! She ate a good dinner tonight. the first thing she has had today. plus a mug full of the gravy. I have put the rest in the fridge, so as she want's some I can warm it up. I'm starting to sneeze a lot this evening, so hoping I'm not catching it.

Jane these cabinets don't seen to have much depth to them. The one we have is only deep enough to take two toilet rolls. The spare towels have to be squashed in the other side.

It's very cold outside and that wind is enough to cut you in half. I only went to the garage across the patio, and I came in frozen.

I came to the computer when Eastenders started. I don't seem to be able to sit though it anymore. Now Emmerdale is on, I just don't get a break from them.
Not sure what's on later, so I might sit and play cards on my Kindl#

Annx Report 15 Jan 2015 20:18

Genius Jane!! I have some of those bags so will take one with me.....thank you! :-D I don't know much about Kias either, except they get good reports all the time, and have a 7 year warranty, but getting in one and driving it might change our minds! At least the one OH is interested in has a small spare wheel instead of those repair kit things. Some of the gadgetry on new cars now is mind boggling. I was saying to OH how we all aspired to cars higher in the range with 'refinements' in the 70s........now we 'aspire' to the more bog standard ones we can understand how to use!! lol.

We have a low calorie ready meal at times and I do just the same......pile some veg on to bulk it out!

Mel you do have a lot of trouble with your leccy. Is it the same for your neighbours as well?

Gillx

Gillx Report 15 Jan 2015 20:23

The weather has turned really windy and the neighbours fence has fell down onto the foot path and his for sale board is on his front lawn, it only went up a couple of days ago. He's away at the moment so I don't think he's going to be to pleased when he get's home.

Congratulations Mandy, glad to hear mum and baby are doing well, what lovely names. How long will your DIL be in hospital for.

I didn't think you were being funny Frank, sorry if I gave you that impression. I did see your emails, the little girl was quite funny, but kept calm for her dad. She was very grown up for 5 years old. Sorry to hear Ros is still unwell, hope she feels better soon.

Glad to hear your OH's car passed it's MOT Ann, what a lovely surprise for him. Your veg soup sounds nice. It's just what you need this time of year to warm yourselves up. I made a sausage stew for dinner to use up the sausages out of the freezer, after being out this afternoon by the time we got back we were freezing so it warmed us up a treat.

I don't know Jane, fancy looking at the wrong Lake :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D.
How did you manage to kill the fire, hope you get it working again, it's far to cold to be without it.

Going to do the dishes now, then settle down to watch "Birds of a Feather"

Jane

Jane Report 15 Jan 2015 20:33

I didn't quite kill the fire Gill.(almost though) I just put on a log that was large and heavy so it nearly snuffed everything out.But I managed to resurrect it :-D

Glad to be of assisstance Ann.Not often I come up with a good idea :-D :-D
I am watching the programme about family on benefits !!!!.I'm not quite sure what to say about it :-S :-S Probably best I bite my tongue :-)

I am going to have a tidy up in the lounge while I watch the rest of this programme and will then be off to have a read (in bed)

I hope Ros has a good night tonight Frank(you too).
Hope New Mum and Baby too have a good night. :-D :-D <3 <3

I have made a chicken casserole with carrots leeks and green beans in a mushroom and chicken soup. Cauli cheese and new pots. Not sure if it is all going to go together!! :-S

Ann I don't think men can resist home made soup whatever it is. I left soup for oh when I went shopping. He also polished off 5 cold sausages and some chicken with wraps. I forgot to get myself something

Thanks everyone for the good wishes for the new arrival , we have taken the children home now and son has picked the other two up from DIL's parents , we have seen photo's of Lewis and he is so like son when he was a baby ,his hair looks quite dark although that might have been because the photo's were taken just as he was born , and it was still damp he was a good weight and poor son was so full of it he had forgotten the time he was born !!

DIL might be home tomorrow if all goes well ,she was really tired when son left her and was feeling quite sick .
Son will take the children to school tomorrow and we will pick them up from school , he had all their uniforms laid out on the sofa ready and they were getting ready for bed ,he's quite worried about not hearing the girls in the night they do wake in the night but DIL always gets out to them and sons a really sound sleeper so he's sleeping on a mattress in the girls bedroom so if they get out of bed they will have to climb over him .
We have to ring him in the morning to make sure he's up .
Hope to have some photo's by the weekend .

We are both tired out and looking forward to a good nights sleep so i'am off for a shower and then my bed .
Night Night xx

I did'nt post that again and now it's all gone and in our tummies.

There are a lot of people round here who have their leccy knocked out by the lightening. I was speaking to the man in the pet shop in Holsworthy this afternoon and he said his kept going out so I was pleased to know we are not the only ones. Our leccy box is very sensative. It used to go if a light bulb went in the lounge.

Frank I hope you're not getting the cold too as thats just how ours started and I have been sneezing again over the last couple of days.

I am watching a program on trams. It is very interesting.

Morning all and evening Kim,

The sun is shining and the wind has dropped and it's a beautiful morning here today.

Oh said there was 11 pheasents in the garden early this morning and eight robins on the patio fighting, mating and eating the worms he put out. He thinks they could have been the babies from when he built my shed as they were'nt frightened of him at all.

Hope mum and baby had a good night and that Ros is feeling a little better today.

Frank

Frank Report 16 Jan 2015 10:59

Morning all, evening Kim,

WELCOME TO THE COLD HOUSE. !! Yes I woke up this morning full of it. Coughing and sneezing and a bunged up head.

Have looked on line for a delivery slot. Tesc# don't have one till 10.00 pm Sunday and want £6.00 for delivery. They are offering a £15.00 off your shopping if you spend £60.00. We don't need that amount.

Ros has suggested we wrap up warm, and she will take me to Tesc# and sit in the car while I nip (JOKE) round and get the bits we need. Better that, than having to get up in the morning and go with Tony (that's if he's going)

Hope that Mum and Baby had a good night and your son woke up to see to the children. I bet the BABY will be the topic of conversation at school.

Jane you had better have a GOLD STAR for thinking of that tip.

Well it's dry and sunny here at the moment, so I had better get my skates on and get ready to go out.

Morning All, Evening Kim

<3 <3 <3 Congratulation to All on the safe arrival of Lewis Oliver <3 <3 <3

We have had a lot of snow showers over the last few days, but they don't seem to lie long. the suns out now.

I didn't go down with OH flu bug, but i do have a cough and feel a bit weary, so maybe it's just a slow reaction and it hits me later. Ment to be going out to dinner with church friends to night but will have to wait and see how the rest of the day goes.
At least I had some energy to look after Matteo while Victoria went to exercise class,

spoke to soon another snow shower, it's so windy here the snow is getting blown about in all directions.

I just have a few seconds to spare before Fitz gets here.He rang this morning and kind of invited himself LOL He said not to bother feeding him....well we couldn't not feed dear old Fitz.So We have have gone through all the stuff from Christmas still in date like cheese and some cold meats etc heated up some of those part cooked rolls.Bit of salad and that's it :-D..He is here so will BBL

Jane

Jane Report 16 Jan 2015 16:52

Fiona ,I hope you feel well enough to go out with your friends this evening and that that cough doesn't develop into anything like poor Frank and Ros have.

Frank did you get to Tes** for your bits? It wasn't that long ago that you both had rotten colds was it?.I have heard of a lot of people having a second bout again :-S
Touch wood we have been clear so far

Mel you beat me on the number of Pheasants in the garden...We have one big male at the moment.I spotted him next door early this morning so he must have jumped the fence/hedge.He found his way up to beneath the window feeder !!!!!

We had a nice lunch and good old natter with Fitz.He is now trying to find Podge (the cat) to get in the cat basket to take to the Vets.He sounds quite poorly ,,drinking gallons of water and even sitting in the sink to lap from around the plughole :-S :-S
Not eating all his food and not hunting.
Fitz has also just booked a week at the same Hotel as us on Lake Como.he tried to get there for our last night so we could have had a meal together but could only manage to book for the day we leave. So we will be coming home the day he flies out.

The logs arrived this morning and are now all stacked away.I think we could actually have done with a bigger load. But this lot will keep us going for a while.
Chris has decamped out to the Summerhouse to do some painting.I don't think he will be out there long as he hadn't put the heater on before he went out there....and it is blooming freezing :-S :-S

Gill I think I was looking at the wrong Lake as it was the last one we went to and for some reason it sticks in my mind. That was Lake Garda.

Frank I do hope Conrad makes sure that he is ok before flying back to Spain on Friday. As you say he won't want to be having to come back again if all is not quite right.

Mandy how are Mum and Baby?Still in or home? it does seem awfully early to go home after a CS.I think I came home after 4 days after having James ,even though they wanted me to stay a bit longer.I do remember not having enough pain control in hospital as the staff were so busy they could never get it to me in time.So I got Chris to bring some in !!!!!!..How bad is that :-S

Anyone got snow? Other than Fiona. We have a clear sky at the moment.
