Burger and rosti for us tonight and I think it is just about ready.
Mandy poor son having to cope with the children. What a dear to sleep on a mattress in there girls room incase they woke in the night. Can't wait to see the pics of baby Lewis Oliver.

We're had a bit of snow and hail earlier but it's all gone now.
Sounds like you've been busy all day Mel. I've had a relaxing day watching lots of gardening programs I'd recorded, I didn't realise how many I had and there are still a few more to go. Learnt lots of tips and tricks to make more free plants from the ones I've already got, so I'm looking forward to doing that in the spring.
The cutting I took just after the summer on my kitchen window sill are doing really well. I've never taken cutting in Autumn before so am pleased with the results and will be trying it again later this year.
Glad to hear your fire is ok Jane, the last thing you need in winter is no fire, especially if the weather turns colder.
Sorry to hear you're not feeling very well Frank, have you caught what Ros has got. Hope you both feel better soon
Sandra's got us watching Big Brother, it's the first eviction tonight, there's lots of confrontation between most of the housemates and Perez Hilton is driving me mad always having to have the last word and bursting into tears all the time, even over things that have nothing to do with him.
Anyway I'd better get back to it before I lose track of what's going on. I think I'm finally getting into it now lol ;-)

Oh Mel you are so right with women just getting on with it, although I must admit my OH gets on with it too, I've never known him have a day off work sick, apart from when he got chicken pox three years on the run on his birthday, bless him. So he had no choice but to have time off work.
Sandra loves Big Brother which is why we watch it and tonight's episode was really funny with Perez winding everyone up, but in a funny way. Katie Price is in it now, she entered the house tonight, not to keen on her. I will be interested to see how she gets on with everyone else.
Just watching "Show me your Garden" It was on Sky one tonight so I recorded it. It's about three couple's showing their gardens and only one of them can win the £500 pounds prize money. Tonight's program has gardens the same size as ours so it's giving us some ideas, as we were thinking of putting some new plants in this year.
Can't wait for the spring now so I can make a start on our garden, at the moment it's mainly lawn and looks a bit boring.
Sorry to hear Mel, you still have your cold, hope you start feeling better soon <3 <3.

Morning all and evening Kim,
We had a really hard frost last night and all the grass was twinkling in the outside light and the bantam house roof was all white. This morning we've had hail but the suns out at the moment.
I was pleased we did'nt have any rain or hail yesterday as it gave the ground a chance to drain some of the lying water on it. Chickens did'nt need to paddle around so much.
Only going up the shop for the paper today and then staying in the warm apart from when I do the birds. Must get another pot of soup on the go for today.
Any news of when mum and baby will be home Mandy??
How's our Frank and Ros today with their horrid colds? Feeling better I hope. <3

Morning but it will be afternoon in a couple of minutes. !!! Hi Kim,
We had a covering of something during the night, but all gone now that the sun is out.
We managed to get to Tesc# Ros stayed in the car while I went round and got what we needed. When I got home I put everything away. I even bought THREE lots of flowers for Ros. She finally sorted those at about 5.00 pm.
She is really no better, her cough is coming from her BOOTS :-D :-D One minute she is dripping wet, then cold. I've tried to keep her in bed, but with her back she can't lay too long.. I don't feel too bad this morning, so hope I haven't or won't get the worst of it !!
B.Brother is something I have never watched. I has never interested me to see a load of so called "CELEBS" prancing about and annoying each other (if as I believe what happens). Everyone to their own, as they say. :-D :-D
Did anyone see KIM's G'daughter on F.B. today, what a little beauty <3 <3 <3
How is Fitz's cat this morning Jane, drinking all that water sounds like kidney trouble. :-( :-( :-( How old is it ???
HANG ON A MINUTE. I am getting on with it :-D :-D :-D Washing, cooking, hovering, bed making, and today it looks like IRONING As I said to WILL (William) a mans work is never done. lol ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)
My grass is looking like it needs a cut, so roll on the better weather so I can get that done. I still need to rotavate my "VEG PATCH" I'm way behind this winter.
I still have dozens of wallflower plants sitting in the greenhouse that I grew from seed. I meant to give them to the neighbours, but forgot all about them. I went down the garden to do something and noticed them all, together with cyclamen plant that we never used last autumn.
Might get back later,
Has the baby come home yet MANDY /???

Afternoon everyone,
DIL and Lewis came home form hospital last night about nine o'clock ,DIL's very tired and Lewis is so cute ,quite a bit of dark hair and huge hands :-) he doesn't have that wrinkly look of some new borns , son said he doesn't cry ,all the other babies on the ward were crying and he was the quiet one ,mine you that might not last.LOL
We had Lacey for the day yesterday and had to get the others from school ,by the time we got home we were so tired we had a drink and went straight to bed ,
We have been to see them all this morning ,we only stopped for a while as the midwife should be coming some time today ,i got a few photo's so will sort them out later ,might have to send them one at a time as i took them on my tablet and i'am not sure quite how to send them .
I did read that you had come down with Ros's cold Frank, i hope your both feeling a little better today , how did the shopping trip go ? hope you managed ok.
We have had heavy snow showers this morning , huge big flakes and it was a very frosty start ,but now the suns out it's all gone .
I think we are having Chinese tonight , after the last few days i'am worn out ,i take my hat off to DIL managing the little ones like she does .
Clouding up again now so perhaps we're in for some more snow !!

The min I put my pillowcases on the line in the sunshine five mins later it rained!!! I left them out there as I can't be bothered to take them in and put them out many times. At least they will smell nice when I bring them in and they can go on the airer to finish off.
Poor Mandy and Colin being so worn out!! but the new grandson must have been worth it. Nice to know they are both back home now and the other children will be right made up having mum and baby bro home.
Frank it sounds like you are soldiering on even though you may have Ros's cold coming.
Been to the shop and got the paper and bought more sausages so I may make him some sausage rolls this afternoon. Going to do lunch now, bacon sarnies I think because once I have thought about them I HAVE TO HAVE THEM. My favorite..mmm :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Afternoon all
Bright sunshine here but really cold with it.
How nice to buy Ros some flowers Frank, that would of cheered her up. Glad to hear you're feeling a little better today and hope Ros will start feeling better soon.
Do you like gardening Frank, I love pottering around our garden and bringing on new plants. Sandra loves strawberries so a couple of years ago I bought three plants and from the suckers I now have 23 plants, which keep her is strawberries all through the summer. I grow them in pots in the greenhouse, otherwise the birds would probably get to them before Sandra.
How lovely, having a baby who doesn't cry much, it's not very often that happens. Five children is a lot to look after, so having a baby who isn't crying all the time must help a lot.
Great minds think alike Mel, I've just made some sausage rolls and now I've got a beef casserole in the oven cooking slowly, it smells lovely, Sandra and I will enjoy that later. OH doesn't like it, (he's a fussy eater), but he loves sausage rolls, so he'll be pleased I've made some, when he gets in from work later.
I've been shopping this morning and filled my freezer back up with lots of meat and fish and a few other things, so we won't go hungry for a while yet :-D :-D. It was very cold out though so I'm glad we're now back in the warmth.
Going to make a cuppa, be back later

Well, I managed to get Ros to have boiled egg this morning with soldiers (just like a child ) :-D :-D :-D She cleared the lot. Then about 2.00 pm she asked for toast and a thin scrapping of my mate.so things are looking up. She has already said she won't want a takeaway tonight, so I will have to sort something out for myself.
Glad MUM AND BABY are home, I bet the children won't want to leave him alone. It's times like this that family is so important. How far away do you live from your son Mandy ??? you will no doubt be called on for baby sitting duties <3 <3 <3
You and me Mel, I love my Bacon sarnies. Lunchtime today I had smoked mackerel fillets and B & B.
Gill, Ros is the gardener in the family. I try to do bits and bobs, like planting bulbs, bushes etc. But the main weeding and trimming is down to her. I do like to do my lawns and get nice lines on them, and always trim the lawn edges to finish it off. I have Green Thumb lawn treatment four times a year. They feed and weed and put fertilizer on it. It keeps nice and green throughout the year and best of all WEED FREE. My Veg patch isn't that big but I grow. Raddish, lettace,, Potato's,Runner beans and any other stuff that Ros brings home either plant form or seeds Like beetroot, peas,(if the mice don't get them) lol
I've got football on in the conservatory. I had better put the heater on out there as it's getting cold..

Hello all,
I just want to say congratulations to Mandy on the birth of your new grandson, and I think your son must be a great family man, with being able to cope as he did. It's so wonderful having a baby in the family.
I've been to the pool today, then came home and made coffee and brought it out on the porch. The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day. Lucy is laying on the rug with her biscuit and the only noise I hear is the birds.
I thought the same thing Frank about the kitty drinking so much - could be kidney trouble. I had a little dog who did the same thing, drank water constantly, and his breath smelled dreadful. Poor little fellow had kidney failure, and he was only 8 yrs old. My old Lucy is almost 15. She has arthritis and can't hear very well any more, but still has an excellent appetite.
Good to know you're taking such good care of your wife Frank. She must be careful for a while to make sure she is completely rid of the bug.
It's nice for a family to have lovely home made goodies Gill. I used to bake a lot when my lot were young. I had a birthday recently, and my daughter and her OH invited me to go out for a meal a few days before. I did wonder why they were right on time! When we got there, most of the family were there, so that was a great surprise, but what I wanted to tell you was that my daughter gave me a memory box. She had decoupaged the entire thing with copies of old photos, and inside it were little notes from many of the family with their memories of me when they were young. I was supposed to open one each day, but when I got home, I read them all. One of them - from my daughter said that she remembered coming home from school and the kitchen always smelled great. A grand-daughter said she remembered me trying to teach five of them together how to make biscuits. Biscuits are eaten with meals here, especially for breakfast. They're similar to scones but a little softer and with no sugar, and they're eaten warm with butter. Also, usually made with buttermilk. Anyway, that is something that your family will always remember about you.
Must get on - have a great weekend everyone. X

Well we have had a good afternoon of catching up and hearing all about Hannahs adventures, and Jess told us lots about Iceland .They have all had a brilliant time. Hannah bought James a beautiful silky bed throw/cover plus pillow casesand cushion covers..But they pong !!!!!!!So I will be off to the dry cleaners in the morning to see if they can be 'freshened 'up LOL..Chris's rug hasn't arrived yet. I had a lovely pair of earrings with a turquoise stone in ,a lovely little carved wooden pot and a silk picture which i think I will get framed.
Hannah's next trip is to Bamburg in Germany for a couple of days for a course that is on the 12th Feb and then in June (if she gets the funding she will be going to California for a couple of weeks at a research facility and then hopefully a break with her friend Polly to travel a bit for 10 days and finally she will go to Texas for a conference !!!! That is my globe trotting daughter :-DWhen I think just a few years ago she was too frightened to go anywhere as she had anxiety trouble.
Frank Fitz's cat hasn't got Kidney trouble. The blood tests were clear but it could be a bladder /cystitis problem. He might have to take him back to get a wee wee sample done.
I'm glad Ros has managed to eat something .Egg and soldiers is perfect when you don't fancy much else.Do you feel better today?
All these sausage rolls being made.I think Gill and Mel could set up in business lol
What a lovely pic of Lewis .He looks a nice CS baby with the perfect shaped head :-D I am sure he is going to look just like the others :-D :-D
I forgot about the 70th birthday tea tomorrow Mandy.Hope you have enough energy for it :-D..Thats a lot of people !!!
Mel I bet you are pleased once all the girls are safely tucked in for the night.have you seen the Fox at all lately?
My little Moorhen has invited his mates today. We had 3 of them. The other 2 look smaller.I wonder if they might be female .
I have roast potatoes, roast carrots and parsnips in cooking .I cooked a big Turkey Breast earlier.......But James and Jess had lunch out at a Turkish place and Hannah had Fish and Chips with her friends at the Samuel Pepys ..so guess what .They aren't very hungry :-S..Poor Chris is starving and keeps asking what time is dinner. I think it will be about 7 .30 whether anyone else wants to eat or not. :-D
I am so hot now.The fire is blazing ,the radiators boiling and the oven on...Phew.I think I need to stand out on the back doorstep for a minute. That will soon cool me down as it is now ffffrrrrreeeezzzing.
