It's surprising how many things you you want to do on the computer when you can't!! lol. :-S It's a pain not being able to book the holiday as they have just dropped prices by over £100 for when we want to go. If I go through this particular site that is down 'due to maintenance' we get 10% off as well so it's a good saving. Maybe tomorrow it will be fine again. :-)
We called at MIL's this afternoon and the doc has said FIL's BP is normal again now with the new tablets which is good and he says he feels better. His back is bad though and MIL said he had been really suffering with it all week....... but it didn't stop them going out every day shopping or him walking to the newsagent every day. The doc says it is muscular pain and that he has a crushed vertebra in addition to the one that was cracked which we didn't know. We just hope he hasn't been lifting things or MIL. She makes no allowance for his age in what she expects him to do (he'll be 94 next month) and now they have gone and bought a set of new steps! :-S
I hope the 70th birthday was good Mandy......that's a lot of people! Your son did do well sorting the little ones out with their uniforms. I remember when a work friend of mine went into hospital to have her second baby and her husband brought their little 2 year old into the office......he'd managed to dress him in nothing that matched or went together......still he was cosy and warm which is all that mattered!!
What a lovely idea the memory box was Ruby with all the little notes. It will be nice to look at from time to time.
Poor old Podge Jane. I was thinking diabetes with all the thirst. Hopefully he will pick up soon and be back to his hunting again.
The postman seems to be arriving really early lately. I was dressing and OH was in the shower when there was a rap at the door yesterday. OH leapt out of the shower and donned his dressing gown to go and collect a parcel. He said he had to double check before he opened the door to make sure he wasn't Flash G*****!! :-D lol.
The mesh necklace on Friday was as disappointing as I expected but next week's necklace looks pretty. My friend who took me to the bead sale at the house had broken her ankle and it doesn't look like she will be able to come back this term. Her hubby had a stroke at age 45 so doesn't drive so it will be awkward for them for a while. First the cat in a lampshade collar, now she's on crutches!! :-S
I was thinking Mandy's little grandson will have an easy birth date to remember 15/1/15. :-D

My My, you are a load of chatter box's. I can't keep up with you all. !!!
Roast leg of pork was lovely, even though we didn't eat all I put on the plate.
I went to the pub at lunchtime 1,30 pm to see my West Ham. beat Hull 3-0.
I have a little (BIG) problem, one of my testis has decided to swell up to the size of a tangerine. If it hasn't gone down by the morning I will ring the doctors.
Tired out this evening, with all the walking and standing cooking, so off to watch Foyle's war.

I don't think Foyles War has been as good as it usually is this time around.
I am just about to watch Call the midwife and then it will be time for bed.
Hope the swelling goes down Frank but you must tell the doc what has happened.

We enjoyed Call the Midwife, even OH managed to watch it and enjoy it.....he squirms a bit though!
Frank, yes I think you should get your 'particulars' looked at tomorrow too if things are no better. :-) It's not something you want to get worse.
I'm off to bed now. I've watched some good things lately. One was about a very small town in Alaska that is completely cut off and so is lawless for several months of the year! One of the families was taking supplies via sled and Huskies to an old man aged 72 who lived completely alone in the wilderness in a small log cabin thousands of feet up a mountain!! He'd lived there for many years and when they reached him it seems he was bothered from time to time by of all things Porcupines!! Apparently they would chew and eat the log cabin so he would have to shoot them. He reckoned they tasted nice!
It's supposed to be bitterly cold tonight so the heating is set to come on in the morning for a short blast. Normally the bungalow holds the heat so well overnight we don't need to bother.

Morning all
Sunshine here today with a slight frost on the grass.
Thanks Jane for the picture of the Northern Lights, the stars were nice and clear and quite a few of them too.
O dear Frank, hope it's nothing serious and the doctor can help you.
I've got a few jobs to do around the place today, then I'm off to my mum's this afternoon. Sandra and I do her cleaning for her and then spend a few hours chatting, hope the sun stays out and it doesn't rain. We had a big downpour yesterday of hail, rain and a bit of snow all mixed together. Glad we were indoors at the time.
The program you were talking about Ann, sounds interesting. Everyone seem to have watched The Midwife. I recorded it, so will watch it later.
Better get on with my jobs now BBL

Morning all, evening Kim,
All seems back to normal this morning. I could have banged myself without knowing it. (NO SENCE NO FEELING) :-D :-D :-D
Good old frost last night, they don't expect is to get above freezing for the next 2 days. Won't be going out, so it won't bother us.!!
Ros is still coughing a lot. She has cough mixture, Lem sip#s anti biotics, and throat sweets. I am keeping her supplied with plenty of liquid, so hope thing get better this week.
Might watch the MIDWIFE on catch up later.
While I was at the pub yesterday. Madam did the ironing, she doesn't like me doing it as I "Don't do it right" like hanging out the washing.
Bed strip this morning, so I will catch you all later.

Well how's this for service.Tesc# collected Ros's Hudl last Friday week for repair. I had an email this morning to say it would be delivered between 11.05 am and 12.00 noon. The door bell rang at exactly 11.05 am. Will now see if it holds a charge for more than ONE HOUR.
Tony has just rung to see how Ros is, and offered to get any shopping we need tomorrow, when he will go.
Sheets and Pillow cases in W.M. I think it will be T.D. rather that going on the line, as I think it will just freeze.
While down the pub yesterday I was invited to join the bowling at the village hall on Monday afternoons. I might try it, but not too sure my legs will hold up to all the bending !!! I don't want to end up a HEAP in the middle of the floor :-D :-D :-D
Playing cards on my Kindle this morning, while madam watches THIS MORNING.

I've done my cleaning and will be off to mum's after lunch to do her's. Then it's back here to tackle a load of washing.
Hoping to watch The Midwife myself today Frank. Did you watch The Hotel again last night. How many stars does it have, you said you were going to try and find out, or didn't you bother in the end. Nice of Tony to offer to do the shopping for you, I'm the same as Ros I like to do my own ironing, it must be a woman thing lol.
Just washed my hair so better start drying it. BBL

Glad to hear things are back to normal today Frank. Bit worrying anything like that. I'm the same with ironing but I don't get the chance for anyone else to do it now as oh won't unless he really wants a clean shirt and I'm not here. Then he will iron the collar and thats all. Only the bit that shows. He is quite capable of doing it but I spoilt him from the start all those years ago.
Must get some lunch now.

At my daughter's they still have 'pink jobs' and blue jobs' ironing seems to be a woman's job while cleaning the windows and puting out the recycling is defiinitely for SIL.
Saying you go over to do your mum's cleaning Gill reminded me I always did my mum's too, we used to have a joke about it and I'd pretend to be her cleaning lady and refer to her as Mrs. Pollendine she's been gone nearly 5 years and I still miss her just as much.
Glad everything has settled down for you Frank. You might enjoy bowls worth giving it a try.

Oh I see it is. I did a very long post earlier but it has now disappeared into the ether :-S I can't do it all again now.But one of the things I wanted to say was Frank that is good news that all is right again in the trouser department :-D :-D It sounds like you had something called a Hydrocele, where fluid just gets trapped and can't drain.I think it is not an unusual problem .Hopefully it has settled now and won't happen again. I would give the Indoor Bowls a go.My friends Mum had a major stroke but did join her local Indoor Bowls Club and really enjoyed it ,even though she had balance trouble. So it might be worth giving it a go :-D
Mel I thought your pics were just lovely :-D.That dear little Deer and greedy Squirrel hogging all the apples lol
Gill ,I think I could do with you to help me out with my cleaning lol.Your Mum is lucky to have you and Sandra to help her out :-D Call the Midwife and Last Tango in Halifax were brilliant last night....Chris cried watching 'Midwife' :-(
Mandy I hope Mum and Lewis are doing well .Has he found his lungs yet ? or is he still a quiet baby?
Just dishing James dinner up now as he is off early in the morning and wants a bath and early night. He is going to London with his boss for some meeting with clients.
I am going press the submit button now so hope it goes through.

You aren't the only one Jane, I post a humongous post and it didn't go anywhere.
I was going on about THAT BLOO#Y HUDL. It didn't hold the charge again for more than an hour. I rang TESCO and had a right barny with a young whippa snapper. Him trying to tell me there is nothing they can do as it's out of warranty. I ask if he knew what "FIT FOR PURPOSE" meant and "MERCHANTABLE QUALITY" That stumped him. I have threatened with every daily paper in the Country if they don't sort it. I had a phone call with 15 minutes of sending a very "straight to the point email" Now they know in no uncertain terms what I think of their product. They are collecting it again on Wednesday. Gawd help them if it's not sorted this time. :-D :-D :-D :-D FRANK IS ON THE WAR PATH !!!!
Dinner looked and tasted great, but for what Ros ate, I shouldn't have bothered.
Going out to play with Tony tonight. They are doing the shopping for us tomorrow. So will give him my list tonight.
Might get back later.

Frank get your money back and buy a Kindl* for Ros.....I love mine and have just bought one for Chris's birthday(a Paper white)......KEEP CALM...we don't want you having any funny turns !!!!! Looks like GR is all back to normal again.it;s been a long time since the last time there was a major problem.
I think we might leave the heating on tonight .Just low enough to keep any freezing pipes at bay. Looks like we might actually have some snow on Wednesday..Typical !!! as we are going to the cinema in Northampton .We wait and see . Just doing Meatballs and Spaghetti now.....No garlic bread :-S.but green beans instead I think I have lost some weight :-D :-D..6 or 7 lbs ! ...Well thats what it looks like on the scales .

Hello all,
I'll give it another go too. Glad your stuff is okay now Frank. Good to keep track of what's going on in your body though. I always notice when I get a new mole, especially when it's on my neck, or if the brown spots on my face seem to get larger
:-( :-(
We had a good day yesterday. After church, grand daughter and I met my daughter and great GD at the cinema and saw 'Paddington" - it's was good fun and the little ones loved it. They're less than a year apart. I hadn't thought of Hugh Bonneville playing a comedic part, but he did very well. Saw him again last night in Downton - I really like him. At the theatre they were advertising Frozen 2, coming in March, so I expect I'll sit through that one also. We also had the first part of Grantchester last night. I've been watching Diary of the Great War, on Netflix, and my goodness what a terrible war that was. It's very interesting - learned some things I didn't know. Just wish I could retain what I learn !!!

Evening everyone
I'm finally having a sit down, I've been so busy all day I was meeting myself coming back lol.
I didn't notice your post before Jane but glad you've managed to get back onto GR, same with you to Frank.
Sorry to hear you've had yet more trouble with Tesc#s, I don't blame you for being on the war path. Maybe you should get in touch with Trading Standards if they fail to sort things out next time round. There could be other's with the same complaint as you and Trading Standards might be able to help.
Yes I could help you with your cleaning Jane, not a problem lol. I actually quite like cleaning, I think I take after my nan, she was house proud too.
It is sad Maureen when someone passes away, my nan passed away just over 5 years ago and I still miss her, as if it was yesterday :-(.
Off to watch corry now BBL

Evening all,
Cor it was frosty this morning ,i woke in the night and looked out and we had very fine snow coming down ,i could see it with the street lights .
Glad things have settle down below Frank, bit of a worry i should think when you spotted it , hopefully it was what Jane has said and it won't happen again. I don't know if its the same with all Tesco's things but hubby had trouble with a mobile phone bought from there, they had to send it away twice for a repair and they said after three repairs they would replace it with new one .
Mel, you got a lovely photo of the Squirrel and the Deer ,both looking straight at the camera :-D Are they snow drops i can see in the Deer photo?
No Jane Lewis is a very good baby ,last night he was a bit whingy but after his bottle he settled well, the evening seem to be his wakeful time . He's taking a good 2oz bottle ,little piggy :-D They have to register him some time this week ,when we were at SIL's party yesterday another SIL reminded me that we had a ( Louis different spelling ) way back in the Brooks family in 1864 ,i had a check and she was right :-) There's a Christoper Brooks too , i didn't know that until i did the tree ,nice to think that the names are still going on in the family .
