Afternoon to you dear friends.
I got Ros up about 5.00pm. She sat wrapped up on the sofa watching T.V. About 10.00 I said I was going in to bed, and she said so was she. I let her go in and I sat and watched Match of the Day. When I went in 11.30 she was dead to the world. She woke this morning at 7.00 am and haven't had to get out ONCE. She was like a block of ICE. So for the first time in years, I wrapped my body round her and let my body heat warm her up. She got up around 10.00 am and is still in her dressing gown. If she wants a shower I will help her. It might make her feel a bit better.
I haven't mentioned Dinner for tonight. I have a nice piece of beef out of the freezer yesterday. Whether she will want me to cook it I don't know. I did manage to get her to eat an egg on toast fir breakfast. But that was it.
You know I mentioned "BIGGLES" the little dog we have now and again. ?? Well the owners have gone on two weeks holiday, and left him with an old neighbour who still lives in the village. She has two children the youngest 4 years old. This morning the little boy was playing in the garden with his ball and biggles, when the dog decided to NIP him. He hasn't broken the skin, but has left two nasty teeth marks (bruises) on his leg. She was so worried, she rang us, to ask if we could have him for th two weeks. She can't be sure that it won't happen again. She has said she will call every day and give him a good walk, to save me struggling to do it. In future I think it would be better for the owners to put him in a professional kennel. They have so many holidays, I think it's a big responsibility to expect friends and neighbours to have him.
Haven't looked at my EMAILS but I see I have 29 to open. So I expect there will be Jane's Ann's and anyone else who has sent.
So you have trouble with your neighbour Gill. What a total K@@B head he sounds. As you say if you mention it, he will do it even more. Would a call to the Council be of any help.?? Surely he can't have lights shining into your bedroom windows. !!!
The weather here is beautiful sunshine, even though it's Blooming brass Monkeys out there.
I have changed the bed this morning, the sheets are on the line getting that lovely smell, you get when they have been out. I will put clean sheets on the bed and remake in later. I will iron the drying sheets during the week.
Martine has been on the phone, offering to come over, and do anything I need doing. I said I can manage.
We both have dicky tummies today, so it must be something we have eat, which isn't much. Ros had a soup last night, and I had a toasted ham sandwich .
I will read through the posts probably when I find time. I am going to run the hoover over the lounge now. As I know she would be doing that.

Well it's passed 3.00 pm and still Ros doesn't want anything to eat, she is drinking plenty of water though.
She has got a blanket over her knees, and is doing a bit of sewing, so she's not feeling to bad.
I will be ringing our doctor tomorrow for a call back, so I can have a chat with her regarding this operation. I think having to wait until May ??? is just too long. I know the NHS is in a state, and our hospital is bursting at the seams, but I will be prepared for her to go further afield to get it done sooner. It isn't a massive operation and she may only be in overnight. So not having a visitor shouldn't be a problem. I know it's the same for so many people waiting for operations, but if I can get a bit preferential treatment, I will take it.
Have been watching Mary Berry at Highcliffe Castle. What a wonderful place it is. I looked it up on Google and found that Me Selfridge (yes Him.) Rented in from the owners during the 1st WORLD WAR for £5,000 a year fully furnished . I wonder what that would cost today if it became available. ??
Have just been to the garage and it is so cold out. Biggles just popped on the lawn for a pee and was straight back in doors. So it must be cold. !!!
Strange how both of us are not hungry. I expect we will have soup with B & B later. The beef will keep until tomorrow.
Might get back later, at least there are no soaps tonight. !!!

Afternoon all,
BAD NEWS. I managed to get Ros an appointment at the doctors. Tony was kind enough to take her for 11.20. She has another water infection, and it could be quite serious. If there is no improvement in TWO DAYS we have to call an AMBULANCE. He was concerned that she had let this go on since Thursday night, and let it progress all over the weekend. I just hope the medicine he's prescribed does the trick. It could turn to SEPSIS, which is life threatening. So to say the least I am worried out of my skin. Plus she has "THRUSH" in her mouth. Which she says feels horrible. He has given her something to treat that. NO TELEPHONE CALLS PLEASE. She doesn't know I have told you this. I will keep you (FRIENDS) informed of any developments.
I think if she is not showing signs of improvement, I will call off the dinner with Simon and Sally, and let Harvey and Conrad know the circumstances.
If it's hospital, I will have to call on friends and neighbours to give me lifts for visiting.
I haven't read the posts and I will only post to let you know how things are.

Afternoon all
I'm so sorry to hear about Ros Frank, I can imagine how worried you are. Does this mean she might be able to have her operation earlier? Hope the meds work and she starts to feel better soon. Is it Nystatin the doctor has prescribed. When I was in my teens I had to wear a brace which caused thrush in my mouth and that's what the doctor gave me, it works a treat, so hopefully the thrush will clear soon. You know we're always here if you need someone to talk too, don't sit there worrying on your own <3 <3
I've been busy this morning putting Sandra's pink Christmas tree up, she is thrilled with it and says it's smashing......that's her new word. The smile on her face goes from ear to ear.....bless her.
That's nice that you've heard from your cousin Mel, is she the one you started contact with over your tree? Hope you manage to sort out your crafting. Maybe a visit to the opticians is a good idea if you're struggling to see properly.
Just going to get some lunch then sort out the clothes for the funeral tomorrow. I hope it doesn't rain, it's forecast to be dry, but you never know. I might not be online tomorrow so don't worry.

O Frank I am so sorry to hear about Ros. I do hope the meds kick in quickly for her and the thrush clears up soon. As for the other thing this could have been brought on when they took that clip away. She should have been checked more. I know you can't give her my love as we are not supposed to know but I am thinking of her and wishing her better all the time. As Gill said we are all here if you need to talk to anyone to get things off your chest. Love to you both <3 <3 <3 <3
I am playing with my felt. I have had such a good time with the present of all those bags of felt oh bought me last Christmas. I really must start on my wreaths soon. It dos'nt please oh as he says I don't need to do them but it is the start of Christmas for me and he dos'nt like Christmas and I love it.
I can just imagine Sandra's face today now her tree is up. She won't want to come out of her bedroom now!!

Oh Frank, thank goodness you managed to get that appointment for Ros today. I do hope there will be no need for any ambulance and that the meds she has got will get working .The thrush in her mouth might well be due to the antibiotics she was taking, but that should clear quickly with the Nystatin or what medication she has for that. I can quite understand how worried you are but now she has treatment lets just keep everything crossed this will do the trick. I woudnt be at all surprised if that op will be brought forward as she may keep getting these water infections until she has it.
As the others say you know where we are if you need a shoulder or just to let off some frustration. (((((( huge hug for you both))))) <3 <3.. Just let us know how things are after the 2 days please .
Mel I love your little Nordic Gnome :-D :-D.. Not so much the big moth on it though LOL Your little brooch is just like Ann's :-D Just boiled potatoes and they are ready for mashing.

Afternoon All,
I am so sorry to hear your news about Ros Frank. It sounds like the many trips to the loo were because of a bladder infection then, but let's hope it will clear up now with treatment and she'll soon feel better. The poor thing getting thrush in her mouth on top of everything else as well! Easier said than done I know, but try not to worry at the moment as it won't do you any good either. The important thing is to keep an eye on her and like the doctor says, get an ambulance if she is no better in a couple of days. Lots of love <3 <3 <3.
Gill, how nice that Sandra still wears the little bracelet and that the bauble is on your tree! I can imagine her 'cheshire cat' grin now she has her pink tree up and decorated! How high is her little tree?
Mel, things like little brooches don't look much but are very fiddly to get looking right! An eye test is next on my list too as I am finding it harder to do things like thread needles! OH hates all the commercialisation of Christmas and the crowds and traffic everywhere that it brings, doesn't like writing all his Christmas cards, but loves it when the house is decorated and all the nice food that is around. He's been saying he wants to go to a carol service this year......but he said it last year and the year before!! lol. I know what you mean about doing your Christmas wreaths being the start of Christmas. Things like that get you in the mood don't they and not HAVING to do them makes it more enjoyable! Just tell him doing them puts you in the mood for cooking him a lovely Christmas Dinner and making him lots of sausage rolls!! lol. ;-) ;-)
When we went for lunch yesterday there were a lot of people about in Santa costumes as there had been a Santa race in aid of charity. It must be very confusing for little tots! When I was little I only ever saw the 1 Santa that sat you on his knee in those days!
Today I have been to a meeting at a different hospital and met some new people. It was a discussion with videos about research and how it has evolved etc. We had a lovely buffet lunch with mixed sandwiches, a bean mix and coleslaw, salad leaves, quiche and a lovely platter of fresh thinly sliced fruits, pineapple, melon, kiwi, grapes. There were some cakes too but I swerved past those! The parking was a bit chaotic and reduced as they had fenced off about a quarter of it to work on and there were barriers all over the place making us follow a set route. I must have been using my brain more than usual as I feel worn out now!!

Potatoes mashed and looking all smooth and creamy :-D. WE have the rest of the Beef from yesterday and that is in a dish now all sliced and covered in thick gravy with the beef juices that I forgot to put in yesterdays gravy. So nice and extra rich. Spring Greens for James and Sprouts for us.
So Sandra is loving her SMASHING pink twinkly tree Gill :-D Her bedroom will be looking really Christmasy now :-D :-D On the way back from the hospital from Physio I saw a couple of men putting the lights on the big Xmas Tree at the top of town. They didnt look like they were having much fun LOL.Rather them than me.
I hope the funeral goes ok tomorrow and it is not too cold.I havent seen the forecast for tomorrow but they did say it is going to be much colder than today.I am sure you will all be wrapped up warm.
Chris is going to Cambridge in the morning (xmas shopping) so I have to be on Parcel watch as we sre expecting a few tomorrow and I know that one has to be signed for. Honestly the delivery men must be sick of calling here.Between me Chris and James there are things arriving every day at the moment.
I must send you all a pic that Hannah sent my yesterday. It was a birthday lunch for one of Gareths friends.. A Roast...... at first when I saw the pic I thought it was just all Beef but looking closer you can see Yorkshires/Potatoes underneath. Hannah has put some funny things on the pic eyes and arrows showing the reaction of people when they saw this huge pile of food. I have never seen anything like it !!!!

The gnome was good Mel with the white beard. The poor moth must have thought the green was a tree! Yes, the brooch does look almost the same as mine, yet the pattern was even more different! Obviously our minds were running along the same lines.
Jane your meal looked delicious even though it would be quite rich! I bet OH would love it. It's almost like a 'posh' breakfast. :-D

Ann that dish was really nice but I think we had a bit too much cheese overload as neither of us slept too well LOL Anne if you make I would suggest whoever eats it not to have it too late in the evening :-D :-D
That lunch today Ann sounded really good Quite a banquet. You were good to give the cakes a miss although they did sound tempting :-D Was the talk and video interesting on research? I see at our hospital that the top level of the new car park looks almost ready for use. There is only the ground and level one but hopefully it will make parking a lot easier for everyone. I wish they had done a second level . I have a couple of new exercises to do for physio and have another appointment in a fortnight. When I went to have my blood test done this morning there was no Hospital or NHS number on my form and the lady said it wouldnt be processed without one.Luckily Chris was home so I rang him and got him to look on the notice board where I knew there was another form with the number on.
Something is going on with my skin again :-S and I have been itching like mad(like you were Mel) My eyes too are itchy and sore and driving me doolally . I will be having a Piriton soon so hoping things will calm down before I go to bed.
My Amaryllis is now way over a foot tall !!!!! I seems to have grown a couple of inches again since yesterday . I dont think it will be long now before the flower starts to open.
Mel I meant to say I love your big Stone with the hogs on on your windowsill :-D

Gill i bet Sandra is counting the days to christmas day ,does she have a few presents under her pink tree ? Hope the funeral goes ok tomorrow and it's not to cold ,i'm sure you'll all be wrapped up nice and warm .
Mel i love the little gnome , that moth has taken a liking to the green felt ,the cheeky little woodmouse he's tucking in . I was going to say are you doing any wreaths this year .
Colin has put some new rope on the wood burner door today so no fire tonight ,it seems quite dull in the room now with out one going but the fire paste he used needs twelve hours to dry . I need to go to Norwich some time this week to get a few christmas presents ,thought i'd go on the bus so i don't have to try and park ,i need some bits for Katie's birthday too .

Just to let you know, I managed to get Ros to eat a small amount of Beef Mince, in carrot and onion gravy,, creamy mash (blow the diet) and buttered cabbage. The mince was a bit salty. (MY FAULT) I shouldn't have put any in it when cooking, as I salyed the pots and cabbage.
She has had a quiet afternoon packing and wrapping a couple of presents.
Regarding Sunday dinner. I will speak to Simon or Sally to explain the position, and warn them there might be a cancellation at the end of the week.
I expect will will be plagued with Prince Harry's engagement. I know he's a bit special as a nice chap, but I don't want it stuffed down my throat all the time !!
They treat you well at these meetings don't they Ann??? Certainly more than I had today. I had no breakfast or lunch. Pleased that you had the strength to by-pass the cakes. GOOD GIRL xxx
Jane, it's getting like that in our house. It's either the postman, who can't get the packet through the letterbox, or a white van man with parcels. There is only one I am waiting for and that's Sally's perfume.
I haven't looked at my emails this evening but I see I have a few to look at.
Gill all excitement in your household then now that Sandra has her tree up. Bless her. xxx I hope all goes well tomorrow, and that the rain holds off. Nothing worse. !!!
Washing up all done and dishes and saucepans put away. Cups ready for the first COT in the morning and my glass with my Aspirin in.
The girl who was suppose to have had "BIGGLES" came round about 1.30 and took him for a good walk returning about 3.00 pm She can't come tomorrow, so I will try to get him out on my own, proving it's not raining. If it is he will have to make do with the back garden.
Take care all, and thanks for your good wishes xxx

Mandy I think there were 11 of them to get through that Roast Beef etc !!!. Hannah hates Beef LOL and said she just nibbled. It was quite a sight though wasnt it. There must have been gravy and veg to go with it.I felt for the poor girl who had to carry that massive platter to the table. Her arms must have ached.Funny to see everyone taking pics.
Mandy, Chris tried to take a pic of 'HAT' outside last night but it didnt work. I think Hat has to come out of hibernation :-D
That is good Ros has had something tonight Frank. Make sure she drinks plenty of water or juice or any fluids . Yep I think you are right Frank about being plagued with programmes about Harry and Megan. It is still going on now and going back to Diana and Charles. Chris has left the room !!! I am happy for the two of them and wish them a very happy future together . I dont need to know anything else again, again and again. Gets all too repetitive and boring :-S
