Morning all
Guess what???????? IT'S SNOWING :-D :-D :-D
The snow at the moment is a bit slushy and there's not much of it, just a bit on the grass and it's very wet. We've just had some more snow so Sandra took a video. We're just waiting for the RIGHT snow to fall and more of it so hopefully Sandra will be able to make her SNOWMAN. OH is going to take some stones out of our front garden and spray paint them black for the eyes etc.... It's very windy and also very cold.
I called Rosie this morning and she came for some nuts. We took a plastic tray, the ones you can get for under pots, out of the greenhouse yesterday so I put the nuts in that, it's big enough for her to stand in so she doesn't have cold paws. She only buried two nuts on the edge of the grass then scoffed the rest down at record speed. No doubt she tucked up somewhere now trying to keep warm.
Victor Meldrew next door is having his roof done so the scaffolding is going up at the moment. I think he's picked the wrong weekend, hope the men don't slip off the roof.
I haven't seen Kirstie yet so will watch that sometime today.
I've been thinking about you Jane and hope you are as warm as you can be. Have you thought of putting your oil heater in your bedroom an hour before bed, it will take the chill off the room, just a thought, but it's better than trying to sleep in a cold room.
You asked if Sandra can put her video onto my laptop Mel, I think it can be done but my laptop is an old one so we're not sure if the CD that came with it is compatible. My laptop has been very slow recently too so that might be a problem. We'll have to try it and see.
Does anyone else have snow today? Sandra is so excited bless her. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed we have more snow for her and it doesn't all melt away before she has a chance to build her snowman. It's stopped snowing now, so we'll have to wait and see how the weekend goes as there is more forecast over the next few days. OH said if it's thick and dark he'll put the outside light on so we can build the snowman incase it all melts away in the night. I think I'll be the sensible one indoors making the hot chocolates LOL ;-) ;-)

Sandra got her wish the snow is coming down thick and fast now and is STICKING everywhere, it won't be long before we will be building her SNOWMAN She is so excited I can't tell you. Rosie came back so more nuts have gone out for her, Sandra was laughing at her paw prints in the snow. I'm so made up for Sandra she has been waiting for so long. I can't believe how thick the snow is now, it's so beautiful out there. <3 <3

I've answered your PM Mel.
Sorry to hear you and Ros had a bad night, she missed a trick there not keeping warm on you LOL.
Does anyone else have snow? Sandra has been asking. It's stopping and starting here and still a bit to wet to build the big snowman she wanted. OH and I made her a small one so if all the snow goes she'll have that one a bit longer.
Going to watch Eastenders from last night now and Kirstie I recorded the other day.
See you all later.

Morning all,
Lovely sunny morning here ,so Sandra has her snow at last I'm so pleased for her can't wait to see a photo . So sorry to hear your sad news about your uncle though Gill <3
Yesterday was Katies birthday so we were there for her birthday tea ,i didn't have a very good night the night before so didn't look in yesterday to read the posts as i so tired. Max is a little over weight so he's now on a diet , he has about three kilos to lose so I've cut his biscuits down other than that he's fine.
I want to get the christmas tree up today so must get on after having my coffee. Thanks everyone for your cards the mantle piece is filling up nicely :-D

I was thinking the same thin g Mandy. If she made a small one it could go in the freezer and she could keep it for ages!!
Gill I have answered your pm. Does Sandra still have the snowman I made for her, the pom pom one?
I bet Mandy has hers and the little angels.
I popped in the shop and they ask me if I was making the wreaths this year as there is someone else who wants to do them so I said yes.

Happy Birthday to Katie for yesterday Mandy.
Yes Mel it's in her room along with the fairy you made which is at the top of her pink Christmas tree.
Well, Sandra has made up for lost time and made EIGHT SNOWMEN all in a row on our patio, one for every year she hasn't had snow since the last time she made some. OH and I helped her.
She got cold so came in and had a hot chocolate, I run her a warm bath so she's thawing out in it now :-D :-D :-D Most of the snow is melting now, so how long the snowman will last I'm not sure. I don't have any room in my freezer but if I do and we have more snow I'll do a small one and keep in there as a surprise for her.
So you're making the wreaths again this year Mel? Good job you went in the shop or someone else might of starting making them and you would of lost out.
I've just had a shock the people putting up the scaffolding in the front put a piece right over into our garden about 3 foot, I ask them to move it over to next door's side, they said it was one that was coming out. It's still there though and going right through all my plants, those plants aren't in pots so I can't move them out of the way. OH and I have moved the pot plants out of the way around the back just incase they drop any of the roof tiles and they fall on are side. One good thing about having the scaffolding around the back, there's no chance of the screening blowing over as it's right up next to it. So I don't need to worry now if the wind picks up.
I'll go and read your PM now Mel.

My you all seem to be busy, with one thing and another.
Ros has showered and washed her hair, All in rollers now. She has started the ironing, then I expect the hairdryer will be on. :-| :-| :-|
I am a little concerned about myself. I am loosing more movement in my right arm and leg, and getting pins and needles in my left arm. What do you think NURSE JANE ??
I have just been to the garage to empty the tumble dryer. It is bitter cold out there. I don't envy anyone working out in this weather. There's a lot to be said for RETIREMENT LOL LOL To think I use to walk up to 5 miles a day on the car sales site. U could't walk 500 yards at the moment.
Biggles is starting to be a pain, he keeps wanting to go out, and is back in within a couple of minutes. He goes back tomorrow, so we will have our home to ourselves once again. Roa doesn't want us to have him again, as he is always under our feet and is likely to have us fall over.
Have you still got the snow Gill ?? I'm pleased that SANDRA had a bit to play with this morning.
Next week we must get over to Ros's M & Ds grave for our visit to leave flowers and wreaths.
I can't get my head around that is only TWO WEEKS until we go down to DEVON.
Rump steaks, onions, mushrooms, chips and peas tonight. So that won't take long to do.
Back to my new book, by the same author that I have been reading. I bought 4 new ones from Ebay. So I have plenty to read over Christmas.

I've answered your PM Mel and will keep an eye out for Sandra's presents. She's quite excited now.
It's just started snowing again. Sandra is all thawed out now after her warm bath and is getting something to eat, she was so engrossed in making her snowmen she hasn't had any lunch.
Thanks Anne for your cards they've just arrived and are with all the others, Sandra loves hers, she really enjoys having some for herself as she doesn't normally have any post. <3

I just told oh about the eight snowmen for every year since she made the last one abnd he laughed and said "bless Her".
Yes had lunch and now I am leaving the washing up and going back into the shed to do some more.
Gill I don't think they are aloud to put anything on your property without your permision so you would be in your rights to have it removed straight away and they should pay for any damage to your property. Those poles are quite round and could damage the roots of your plants. This is that nasty mans roof they are doing is'nt it.

Just noticed your post Frank. Yes We've still got the snow, not that there's much left after Sandra making all those snowmen. She had a great time and wants to make some more if we get enough snow. I think the one's she has made will melt quickly as the snow is so wet, but for now she's happy looking at them.
I would go and see the doctor Frank, those symptoms don't sound right to me. Better to be safe than sorry. If you can't get out call the doctor to you.
Going to watch Eastenders and Kirstie now, I was going to watch it earlier but was worried the snow would melt and Sandra would miss out on making her snowmen so I left it and went outside with her instead. Good job we did as I doubt she would of been able to make them now with it melting.

Yes Mel it is the nasty man's roof that's being done. The scaffolding pole was above ground so it wouldn't of damaged the roots but they poked it through the plants so it might of damage the branches. The pole has gone now and I've just had a quick look through the window and can't see any damage. I'll take a proper look when the weather isn't so cold.
Going to get a sandwich as I haven't eaten either today. My throat is still sore and so is my ear, so I might have to go to the doctors if it doesn't clear up soon.

Afternoon All
Oh I am so happy for Sandra. At long last she has got her wish to make another snowman I see it is 8 :-D :-D :-D. Then Father Christmas last night :-D.This is going to be a great Christmas for her to remember. It will be even better if you have snow on Christmas day :-D
Frank, I would get yourself checked out and get an appointment with your GP,especially with you going away before Xmas. The pins and needles might just be to do with a trapped nerve in your neck or something. Is it your stroke side you are getting less movement? It just seems sensible if you are concerned to make that appointment.
Gill, I hope that nothing is damaged with that scaffolding coming through your side. Might be worth taking a pic if the pole is still there. What is Victor Meldrew having done?
How old was Katie yesterday Mandy. Belated birthday wishes to her <3
(Just seen your post Gill saying the pole has gone and no damage) that is a relief :-D
No snow here although I have a feeling there may have been a little in the night. But by oh my word it is bitterly cold. I have put the oven on even though there is nothing in there just yet.I thought I would try a recipe for some party size things. Potato and Olive Rostis topped with a bit of Artichoke heart.I'm not actually going to cook them today but have shredded the potatoes ,finely chopped shallots and added Fennel seeds.Tomorrow I have to cut them into rounds, fry them and then top them with a Olive,Lemon and Coriander Tapenade(jar),pop a bit of Artichoke on top and then grate some Parmesan. They can then be chilled until finished off in the oven for 10 mins. If they are successful I thought they would be nice to do over Xmas.
Thomas is very reluctant to go out,and I cant say I blame him. We had a lady Pheasant wandering around the Patio just now, maybe she was after the bird food from the window feeder that the birds had turfed out. Rosie sounded like she was stocking up well with those nuts Gill :-D :-D
Thanks again for more cards today :-D
The tree is up :-D But that is all . I will decorate it tomorrow. Hope you are feeling better Mandy and have done your tree. Will Max miss some of his biscuits ? Is it food biscuits or treat ones? If it is treat ones you could break then up and make it look like more LOL.
Must crack on now so will BBL

Mum's just been round to let me know my uncle passed away this morning, I've had a little cry. He is being cremated but I'm not sure when. My aunty is speaking with the funeral director this afternoon. She has her children with her so she's not on her own.

Oh Gill, I am sorry about the news of your Uncle. But what a blessing he has gone quickly :-( I know it was on the cards but a shock for everyone. I am glad that your Aunty is not on her own and has her family with her. I expect at this time of year it could be a bit of a wait for the Cremation. Hopefully it will be before Christmas though.

So sorry Gill about your uncle. So sad at this time of year but I hope it can be all over before Christmas and they don't have to wait too long. Its good the family are with your aunty so she's not on her own.
Hello to David and a very Merry Christmas to you too. I hope you get all you have assked Santa for! Keep well and love to Ellen.
They sound nice Jane but a lot of work if you m akae them for Christmas with all the other cooking to be done.
Got on quite well today with the rings but still not finished on!! I have done a lot of wiring and picking today and mossed another ring and a bar. We have toasted cheese sandwiches for dinner tonight as I have been busy. I shall have beans on toast.
Frank it is best you see the doc before going away as you don't want to be ill when you're in Painton. There's nothing like home if you feel off colour. Have you forgotten to take any of your meds?
