I like the felt brooch Mel ,whats your next make going to be ?

Frank that's good Ros has had a little to eat and as Jane said she needs plenty of fluids, i hope she has a good night's sleep tonight ,and you too <3

Oh sounds as if "Hat " is camera shy LOL

Annx Report 27 Nov 2017 21:11

It reminded me of the 'beef mountain' in the 70s Jane and it's a wonder the girl didn't lose some off that big pile getting it to the table! I dislike beef and very rarely have it. When it's cooking it smells like cowsheds to me! lol. I do sometimes have corned beef, which isn't ideal because of the preservatives, but OH loves beef!! Do your new exercises involve getting down on the floor? ;-) As Mandy says, it's good to see the hat is still around. lol.

I hope you all wrap up warm tomorrow Gill and that it stays dry. It will be upsetting for everyone but your OH's friend will be glad you are all there to support him. OH is off to a funeral of one of his old footie pals near Birmingham on Friday.

That's a nice little decoration you have made Mel. I must get started on my baubles.

Yes, I am bored with the press obsession with Harry and his girlfriend already! I wish they would leave them alone.

That's good Ros has had a little to eat Frank. I hope she has a good night's sleep.

I'm fed up with Harry and Co too and thats only the ads for the program!!

I see 'Hat' has come to light again after the summer. I wonder where it will turn up next? Awaiting a new picture.

Its good Ros has managed a little food but as the others have said keep the fluids up. We all know you will look after her very well Frank. Don't forget we are all here if you need us or any advice from nurse Jane.

Ann I don't think beef smells like a cowshed when its cooking. You should smell the cowshed up the road to us!!!!!!!!!!!! that sometimes smells like plastasine. I never remember to go round the long way when its been raining as where the cows come across the road it gets very mucky twice a day.

Don't know what the next make will be yet Mandy it will be just something that takes my eye. I saw some lovely knitted acorns on Pinterest but no pattern. I am into oak leaves at the moment and acorns.

My crackers arrived today from Amazon or via the cracker company they are lovely and I have'nt looked to see whats inside so it will be a surprise for me. They have bunches of red berries on them. There is only six in the box but I have to have a cracker. Silly old fool............. :-D

Annx Report 27 Nov 2017 22:06

It only has a slight whiff of it for me Mel, but it's still puts me off. lol :-S I hate the smell of plasticine, yet could never help smelling it under my nose as a child. I love acorns in their little cups. You can do so much with them. I have a board on Pinterest with all sorts saved.

I'm off to bed now, having got fed up with the printer! They must have done some sort of update and it has stopped printing 2 sided which I have set for printing bead patterns so they don't take up so much room. The options to alter it have all changed and there is no obvious one any more. The thing I did try printed the back of the paper as well, but upside down!! :-S I wish they didn't keep meddling with things that worked fine as they were.

M y desktop is all different now and my bookmarks I used to get an amount drop down and on that was Other bookmarks which took me straight to the ones I use everyday like the thread. Now I have to search for them all and put the ones I use most up the top. Why can't they leave things alone. My dad use to say "if it an't broke don't mend it" and its true.

Morning all,

Late on parade this morning and I wanted to get up early today as I have to do the two shops and wanted to have a look around Atlantic Village which is just up the raod from Lidl. I also wanted to go up the High St but I can't see me doing that now.

Just having my first drink of milk and water so I can take a pill then have to have some toast to take the others after doing the girls and then I am off.

Good morning to you all, Evening Kim.

Not a bad night with Ros last night. This morning she came out ad sat on the sofa, I made her TEA. Biggles jumped up on the sofa for a fuss, he was sitting on her knee at one time. He's such a loving little thing.xxx

She noticed that both her legs have come out in round RED PATCHES. We have put a call in to the Doctor and waiting for his call back. Trouble is you never know when it will be. She has gone for a shower and hair wash, so sods law he/she will ring while she's in there. I will have mine when she's finished. I have made sure the door isn't locked in case she needs me.

I have your emails Mel, thank you. The only trouble is they go to my JUNK MAIL. I can't understand why :-| :-| :-| You are a clever old thing.they look so nice. Are they for you or presents for someone else ???

The Christmas Cake Ros has made for Conrad. Everything that doesn't agree with him i.e GLUTON, LACTOS, etc. have been left out. She managed to get all the ingredients including Gluton Free flour. It sits on the table beside my computer waiting to be decorated. It smells so nice it's making my mouth water. LOL LOL

Rin in the night again, but this morning is very bright with clear blue sky's, but still blooming cold wind.

I have started to make a shopping list. If I can make it BIG ENOUGH I will order it on line. That will stop her driving. Method in my madness.

Simon rang last night and again this morning. He's made it quite clear that I shouldn't do a dinner for Sunday, as he is sure Ros won't be in an entertaining mood. They will however, come over for a coffee/tea late morning. So that's good of them. I hope Sally's perfume arrives before the weekend, then they can take their presents back with them.

I had a box of books arrive this morning. They are the Author of the books Tony lent me. As I read them I can pass them on to him. !!! if he hasn't already read them. So we can start our own little LENDING LIBRARY. LOL LOL

Before I get anything out for dinner tonight, I will try to get Ros to TELL ME if there is anything she fancies. That will be like getting BLOOD out of a STONE.

Hope everyone is well, and Chris enjoys his trip to Cambridge. Enjoy your "DONKEY DAY" Mel. xx

Frank Report 28 Nov 2017 13:41

Well dinner is sorted.Shin of beef, loads of root vegetables (STEW) it's on the gas simmering for now. It can cook away until it's done, then I will turn it off, make some dumplings and put those in when I reheat it tonight.

The USELESS BLOODY DOCTOR hasn't rung. Most of the patients at the surgery try to steer clear of him for appointments. It's just our luck to have him on the telephone surgery. I will ring after they open at 2.30 pm and try to speak with another doctor. I have had run ins with this doctor before, for leaving me in pain for a whole weekend because he didn't ring me. When I saw another Dr. on the Monday. He said you should not have been left like this all weekend. I said you go and tell him that. !!!! Since that episode I have steered clear of him. :-( :-( :-(

I just hope that if Ros needs any more cream or tablets, that they have them in stock. I don't want to ask neighbours to go and pick up the prescription and take it to town to get whatever is needed. As you can imagine FRANKIE BOY is getting boiled up. !!!!

Annx Report 28 Nov 2017 15:11

Afternoon All,

Oh dear how worrying for you Frank, especially waiting for a call back. You don't know how important a new symptom is, whether it's any of the medication causing it etc. I hope you hear soon or can get hold of another doctor. Little Biggles sounds like good company for her! That's a good idea about the lunch for Simon and Sally and great they will pop in to see you both.

I rang our surgery this morning for my blood sugar result and was told it's 'normal' which is good to know, but I wanted to know the actual figure, which they have always given me before. I was at the higher end of normal last time and, if I know things are getting worse, I know I need to increase my efforts to do something about it. Anyway, the answer was that she couldn't give me the figure as she wasn't a trained clinician! Now I can understand that she wouldn't be able to discuss anything with me about the reading and that I would need to speak to a doctor in that case, but all I wanted was the figure!! Surely doctors' expensive time shouldn't be being wasted on making phone calls to just read out a figure from your records or am I missing something here? It doesn't help you to try to take some responsibility for your own health? Now I have to wait till Thursday for a doctor to phone me. :-S

The new neighbour does have a car the same model and colour as the previous neighbour! lol. I think they must work as the car isn't there in the day.

I hope Chris has had a successful shopping trip! Also Mel with her busy day. :-)

I must nip to the post office now and then to the farm shop.

Frank Report 28 Nov 2017 15:40

At last, we have got through to the Drs. I could speak to the POPE easier than the Dr. Oh how I wish we had another doctors close by. The nearest would be Northampton or Greens Norton about 6 miles away. Our Doctors seem to have all the villages around us tied to their group practise. So basically we would still be seeing the same doctors but at a different surgery. SO NO JOY THERE.

I think it's poor service. If I were to send a letter of complaint they would threaten you with being taken off their list. Talk about the S.S. ???

I have the stew ticking along on the gas, and have made the Dough boys. They need about 20 minutes in the stew, so that's fine.

I have just ordered the Queens 70th wedding Anniversary Coin. It's free and just costs £2.50 postage. I have collected all this type of coin to pass onto Lewis and hopefully to pass on down the Family for years to come. Soft old begger aren't I ???

Pam next door has just popped in to see how madam is, so I will pop back later.

Afternoon all

Just got back from the funeral. I haven't caught up with the posts yet so will do that after dinner. I've just noticed your post Frank, what did the doctor say about Ros?

Going to start dinner now, we're all hungry so we're having it a bit earlier today.

Jane Report 28 Nov 2017 17:27

Frank, I wonder if the Doctors are so stretched between surgerys that maybe this might be the reason why it is so difficult to get hold of one. It isnt on though if you are waiting for a call from him and then it doesnt happen and it is left to you to do the chasing. If you have a real concern about something and feel you need to complain then there should be no reason for them to remove you from the list.I know if someone is abusive ,aggressive or just a pain in the backside then that is a case then for removal.
Good idea not to do the big meal on Sunday.I think you have both have had enough this week without the added work of all the cooking and entertaining.Coffee and biscuits sounds a far better idea :-D.. Did you manage to get that perfume you were after cheaper somewhere? I rememer you saying how expensive it was.

Chris nearly had a fit when he bought mine today LOL . I did warn him :-D.He said Cambridge was heaving but he had a good journey there and back.

Ann, it does seem daft that you couldn't just get the number off your blood result. It would have been there right in front of the woman.I know when I got a call about my Cholesterol just to say it was borderline I asked for the reading and she did tell me but explained that she was just the receptionist .

How funny that your new neighbours have the same car as the other man.At least you know he is not still popping back :-D

I hope the funeral went ok today Gill. Was there a gathering somewhere afterwards?

I have a numb bum as I have been sat here for ages wrapping presents and now having a few minutes on the laptop. I need to get up and move around. My hip and back are so stiff today, probaby after the physio yesterday.

Did you get what you went for at Atlantic Village Mel?

Tomorrow we are off to see Paddington 2 in Northampton . Lunch first at Ask .We are meeting Fitz at the restaurant and then all seeing the film.I have to say I am really looking forward to this film :-D

Savoury Pancakes tonight. Chris is not too keen on them so I have an Aubergine Bake if he prefers that. He bought a very pretty Xmas Tree topper today which is good as I have been looking for a nice one for a couple of years.

Biggles sounds such a happy little dog Frank. It was a shame about him nipping the little boy but maybe it was just done when they were playing and he got a bit over excited.Maybe he is just better with you and Ros where things are a little quieter.I forget what breed he is.I know too that you both love to have him.

How is Ruby and Baby Pig Anne? Still mothering?

Yes, Jane there was a wake after the funeral where I finally met Ruth's partner in person. He said it was nice to see the person he's been texting and speaking to on the phone. He is a lovely man and very easy to talk to. I also met Ruth's son who was also very polite and nice.

The funeral was part English and part German but was done is such a way that even though some parts were the German language the English people were still involve and understood what was going on. It was a lovely service and very interesting with both English and German hymns and verses. Even the lords prayer was said in German. Everything was written on the order of service, so like I said, it was easy to follow. The weather was sunny and dry, be it a little cold, but there was no wind so not a bad day weather wise.

We decided after the wake to nip to the garden centre as I wanted another box of fairy lights, I also bought some pairs of doves for the Christmas tree and put one on Sandra's tree when we came home. On the way to the garden centre OH decided to take a quick look at a car place as we've decided to change the car to a bigger one. He found one so we bought it and we're picking it up on Friday afternoon. He'll ring the insurance tomorrow to organise the switch over and we can tax it at the garage, the MOT is due a month after the car we've got now so that's good and we have part exchanged our car so the price came down too.

I'm really tired now and am trying not to fall asleep as I'll be awake to early tomorrow and probably feel tired during the day, so I'm going to watch a bit of TV for a few hours then have an earlier night than I usually do.

I still haven't caught up with the posts yet so will do that tomorrow.

Goodness Gill, you have had a busy day . The funeral sounded interesting with it being Part in German and English. Was Ruth German? The wake and then buying a new car !. You have done well
:-D I am not at all surprised you feel worn out now. Hopefully you will fall into bed and sleep the whole night through. I hope to do that tonight :-) I know I wont though as I will be up for the loo at some point and then maybe not able to get back to sleep for ages.Thomas will come and say Hello around 4am and then disappear :-S.He just likes to have a bit of a stroke and fuss ,dribble over me while he does his padding feet thing . He never does it with Chris !!!! Probably because he knows he will get shooed off, or an arm flung out of the bed to swipe him off the bed !
James has finally arrived home from work so need to dish up now.

I did'nt do Atlantic Village in the end. Oh told me to be home before dark so he did'nt have to worry. I went up the High St first then did Morrisons and then Lidl. Came home unpacked did the bantams as oh won't open their door to the run incase they get out. He had corned the chickens so I shut them in and then fed the hogs. I saw it again last night but I am only feeding til the end of November and then knocking it on the head. The one I see, if its the same one, is big enough to be able to get threw the winter sleep.

Glad the funeral went off ok and it was an enjoyable service with no rain. Fancy getting a fresh car too!! you made the most of your day out.

Jane yes what a view really lovely.

Morning All,

Had a very hard frost this morning but the sun is out now and the washing is on the line. Well I have just put it out.

Have to make the Advent Ring today so it ready for the church service.

How is Ros today Frank and did you both get a good nights sleep last night?

Gillx

Gillx Report 29 Nov 2017 09:58

Morning Mel, morning all

I didn't have a very good night last night, I sometimes have restless nights if I go to bed to early. I did manage to drop off around 1am and have some sleep. I'm surprised I'm not tired now, mind you I'll probably feel it later.

The sun is out and the garden is slowly draining of all the rain and hail we've had lately. OH has gone to his friends to see how is he after the funeral. He didn't have a chance to speak to him properly yesterday.

He'll ring the car insurance this afternoon to switch it over for Friday. I'm looking forward to the new car, it's much bigger and has opening back doors which the one we have now doesn't. Sandra can't wait either as she said it's a bit difficult to get into this one. We managed to find one where part of the back seat folds down to make the boot larger on that side. It'll come in handy if we buy anything long that needs to go into the boot and Sandra can still be with us as her part of the seat stays where it is. At the moment she and I have to stay at home so OH can put the whole of the back seats down to put the larger items in the boot. I joked with OH saying that the boot of the new car is almost the same size as the whole of our little car we have now.

I love the photo you sent Jane, what a lovely view. All the other pics everyone has sent are lovely too. The moth seemed quite at home on your gnome Mel. I noticed HAT is going to make another appearance Jane, I wonder where it'll end up this time....can't wait for the pics LOL.

How is Ros today Frank, I hope all the meds she's on are doing the trick. I'll keep my fingers cross for a speedy recovery.

What a to do you've had with the surgery Ann and such a waste of time having to go in to speak with the doctor when you could of been told what you wanted to know over the phone. Fancy the new neighbours having the same car as your old ones, it'll seem like they're still there when you look over.
You asked how high her little tree is, it's 3 foot. She only has a small bedroom so there's no room to have a bigger one, but she is made up with it. I'm going to put another set of lights on it today as we realised she had more on last year. The first thing, after the lights, she put on her tree was the fairy Mel made her last year. :-)

You asked Mandy if she had any presents under her little tree, unfortunately there isn't enough room, so I've put some tinsel around the base of the tree that looks like snow, so she's very happy with that. She keeps asking me if we're going to have snow this year, I really hope she does as she's been waiting so long. If it does snow and I'm not on here you know she's got us making a family of snowmen in the garden LOL :-D :-D

I did notice when I came online that we're going to have very cold weather, down to around -30 in some parts of the country. I didn't look any further so I don't know where about it's going to be that cold. They'll be plenty of hot chocolates and breaks if it's that cold and it snows. We won't be able to build the snowmen otherwise.

I remember one year Sandra was making snowmen and ran out of snow so she went next door and used hers. It was so funny, the neighbour didn't mind as it cleared the snow off her drive. Sandra said I did knock on the door but she didn't answer, the old lady (98 year old) noticed her from the window and waved with a big smile on her face, she said Sandra could take as much snow as she wanted, so that was nice of her.

Sorry forgot to say, no Ruth wasn't German Jane, but her parents were and her son lives in Germany. Ruth was very keen on learning the language and joined a German group. One of the ladies of the group spoke about Ruth in such a nice way at the funeral and I think the vicar was German too.

Good morning to you all, Evening Kim,

Not a lot to report, Ros has the red patched still but not so itchy. The new tablets she has, have to be taken 4 times a day half a tablet a time. There is enough for 4 days, so hope things are better at the end of the treatment.

I'm afraid I am going down with a cold. My eyes feel like they are on my chest. and boy what a headache, and sore throat. I expect it's being run down and worrying about Ros hasn't helped.

Simon rang again this morning to see how Ros is, so that was nice.

What car are you getting this time Gill ?? Glad the Funeral went off alright and getting your OH friends partner must have nice. Ir is nice to put a face to a voice !!

Gill I think you have made a bit of a bloomer MINUS 30 DEGREES ??? Gawd I hope not LOL LOL. They do say it's going to be cold with this north wind. So wrap up warm if you are going out, THAT MEANS ALL OF YOU. xx

I never got Jane's photo, just a blank screen , so don't know what happened there.

Ros has popped to be weighed at her slimmers place. With how she's been this week I would think she's lost loads of weight.

I want to get showered and shaved. I will shave, and wait till Ros is back to get showered. I don't want any accidents. I feel very dodgy on my pins this morning.

Giggles with get his walk this afternoon when the girl comes about 1.00 pm. Our garden is quite large and he spends a lot of time out there, so he's not cooped up in doors. Considering the owner told Ros HE WOULD NOT LET US HAVE HIM AGAIN, I would think he will be grateful that we did . :-| :-| :-| :-| I wonder if we will get a THANK YOU. !!!
