Thanks Gill for putting up Annes message.

I am really sorry to hear Anne is feeling so down and depressed .I know how much she loved her dear Amy and misses her dearly. I hope her depression lifts very soon and that she will be able to join us again .
Lots of love Anne <3 <3

Have emailed Anne to wish her a speedy recovery, and I too look forward to her being back on the thread.
Have just watched Endeavour and thought it was better tonight. I do love seeing Oxford, takes me back to my youth!!!
We're now tucked up watching a bit of telly before snuggling down!

Morning all

Dull and damp here today

I've been thinking of Anne and wish her a speedy recovery <3

Just put the Olympics on, it's become a routine now and I'm really enjoying it.

It's a pity it's so dark as OH can't see his painting properly to make sure it's doesn't need another coat. I think it looks good. Hopefully later we'll nip out to see if we can find some suitable wallpaper for our living room, then I can get on with that.

I'm having to use my old glasses as the arm on the ones I had broke last night. I don't know if I lent on them or if they've just broken with wear and tear. A bit of a nuisance but a good job I have a spare pair for now.

Nothing much planned for today, apart from a bit of shopping and housework, it's quite dusty here with all the wallpaper stripping so I must crack on with some hoovering.

What is everyone else up to today?

Morning Gill and all,

I think we have the same weather as you today Gill. Its not nice out there at all and dull with a grey sky.

Oh has my car on charge again just to see if we can move it over to where I usually park it as its up againt the bungalow at present so he could get the charger there easily.

I am still trying to work out this info on the family tree that Hilary sent me. I keep adding bits to a couple of people and then go back to a wife only to find the info is'nt there anymore. I can add info to his daughter in the notes bit but not to him or his wife Nellies mother.

Been on to GR about it and all they do is tell you to clear your cache.

Good morning to you all,

Who's been a busy boy then ??? I had another iffy night, clock watching and wide awake at 5.00 am. Was up by 7.00 had my tea and tablets, sill haven'r eaten (NAUGHTY BOY) Ros is always telling me off for taking tablets on an empty stomach.

Anyway, when Ros woke and got up, on went the T.V. (she hates the quiet) and never listens to the radio} Jeremy Bl@@dy KYLE came on, that was my Q to get on in the kitchen. (I have just come back). I have cooked onion, carrot and mince for sheep Sh@@ Pie/ I made two, one can go in the freezer. Have done Cauliflower, broccoli and leeks, to go in a cheese sauce tonight. All the mash on the pies and sprinkle of cheese.

Ros of course, changed the bed (her side hasn't been touched all week) While in the kitchen the W.M. finished so I have emptied that into the basket for her to fold. The sheets will do in the T.D. The food caddy was full after doing the Veg, so that has been washed out and new bag put in, the Paper and Glass bag was full also, so that's been emptied. All I need to do now is put the bins out for tomorrow's collection.

I had Gammon and Turkey Gill. Ros had Beef and Lamb. All lovely and fresh as I said last night. Yes thanks for passing on Anne's Email, I do hope she feels better soon. Nothing worse than depression. I get far too much of it, the medication doesn't always seem to work, and of course it's not nice for the people around you.

Dank sort of morning here also, I think it's Country Wide. It looks like i's o stay for the day. Showers also expected.

I must pay the CAR insurance today, and ring and book the M.O.T. They both come around together. I hope the MOT won't be expensive.

I have my monthly injection at 2.30 this afternoon. WHERE does the months go ???

Well I am going to relax in a nice shower now, wash my hair and shave. (nice clean boy again) !!!

Hope your battery takes the charge Mel, or you will have the expense of a new battery. :-P :-P

Yes Liz, there was a better story line in Endeavour last night. I was getting to the point that I didn't really want to watch it.

Bunnyboo Report 19 Feb 2018 11:41

We were beginning to feel the same Frank! but last night's wasn't too bad so we shall watch next week!!
Dank old morning here too, talked to son this am, he seemed very chipper, the house alterations went well over the weekend and they now have a bigger spare bedroom having gone into some wasted space. Just a bit of painting to do apparently then it's ready for visitors!! The cottage they live in is part of an old stable block so it's full of nooks and crannies!
Better get on and sort yet more washing!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Feb 2018 12:24

I too hope our Anne feels better soon. Give that Ruby a cuddle for me.

I too thought Endeavor was better last night and with all the outside stuff it was much brighter than being indoors all the time in those miserable looking places in the first two. I shall give it a go next week too.

I hav'nt watched Call the midwife yet but Shetland is on tonight so I am looking forward to that.

Liz have you seen the third Outlander?

I have been on the pc all morning looking for a new battery for my car. I ordered one twice by mistake and oh had to cancel that order as it did'nt come till Thursday. We found one in the end that will come tomorrow as I paid a £5 charge for that. I think every week this month I have had to pay out for something. First the house insurance then the water pipe insurance now the car battery and I am sure there was something else, o yes the council tax. I also bought the lagging and boards for the loft and oh bought the wood and legs for the boards to go on and various other bits and bobs like screws etc.

On it goes Mel, one bill following another!!
Just had the GP on the phone to give me the results of my annual checkup! All is well which is a relief! I've got to keep an eye on my BP though, as it is borderline!!
I'm not sure that we could eat all those veg Frank!! Neither of us eats anything like as much as we used to and we still don't lose weight!!
No we haven't seen Outlander Mel. Must have a look out for it.
Lunch now so best get on!

I have just renewed the car Insurance. What a MARATHON. It took nearly a quarter of an hour before I spoke to a HUMAN BEING. Then he wanted to know all my inns and outs. I was going to offer him MY INSIDE LEG MEASUREMENTS. Finally paid for it for another year.

Glad you are all tickerty bo Liz, what with all the tablets I take, I know there is one in there for BP. So I don't have to worry about that. I do see the doc. like you every year for a going over. !!! I think they call it an M.O.T. at the surgery. ;-) ;-) ;-)

Just spoke to my sister, she sounds in a better place this morning. They have torrential rain at the moment, where as we just have that horrible GREY DAY with damp in the air.

Ros has popped to Tesco for some bits. When she gets back I will have a bit of lunch.

The veg I have done Liz, is only four flourettes (sp) of cauli and Broccoli and one leek. We do tend to eat a lot of Veg in our house. As for loosing weight, I have gone from 13/7 lbs to 12/11 lbs and I don't know why.

I must catch up on Shetland. I have recorded the series, but as yet haven't viewed last weeks. !!!

I have just put on a pair of trousers that are 36 " waist. What a change from my 38" No wonder Ros says I look like I have an Elephant's Bum in the bigger ones. ;-) ;-) ;-)

She's back so lunch is calling.

Afternoon all,

Dreary day here ,it looks like fog out but it's the thick drizzle coming down .

Thanks Gill for letting us know about Anne ,i'm so sorry to hear that she is so down and depressed ,Anne i hope your soon feeling brighter ,give Ruby lots of cuddles and we'll look forward to hearing from you again when you feel up to it <3 <3

Well i've been and packed the glasses up three big boxes !! here's so much in that bungalow goodness knows what she's going to do with it all.

The car seems to be fine now ,Colin went out and tried it after i told him about it and it didn't rev for him ,he asked if i was sure it did it ,i don't know if he thinks i make these things up, i know when a car revs or not !!! any way it was fine when i went out in it this morning so perhaps some thing just got stuck .

Oh Gill that was handy having the spare pair of glasses , it's usually the little screw that comes loose on mine ,i just nip them into spec savers and they soon replace it

Frank we did our car insurance last week , we rang the company we are with and got it a little cheaper ,we always have the breakdown cover with them too so the price wasn't to bad in the end .
Hope your car passes the MOT ok so you don't have to much to pay out on it .

So you have the expence of a new battery Mel ,will you take OH's car to go shopping tomorrow or hope your new battery comes in time for you to go in yours ?

OMG I have had the worse injection, I have ever had for my Testosterone. What the hell she used to inject me with I will never know. From when she pricked the skin it hurt. I know the solution is VERY THICK and takes time to inject. It seemed she was trying to hurry it along. I've made a note of her name, so she won't be doing it again !!!! I am still uncomfortable sitting down and moving around. I don't know if there are any nerves going through your buttock ?? If there is, she might have found one.

So you DON'T know when your car is revving up then Mandy. You must take more notice of these things. LOL LOL. I think our insurance is quite reasonable at under £170.00 Fully Comp. with Protected NCB. These Adverts make me smile when they say "You could pay as little as £260.00" and that is no Guarantee. :-( :-( :-( We do our RAC through Tesco Club Points. We get Full recovery, breakdown and Home start for £42.00 of vouchers. It would be £126.00 CASH.

Still a horrible damp day outside. Veg, Par boiled and cheese sauce made. All I have to do is transfer to a dish, pour over the sauce, and pop it in the oven with the S.S.P.
As the meerkats say "SIMPLE"

Watching Nat Geo, and Eden. Both very enjoyable to watch and easy listening.

I see there is a new MARCELLA tonight. Why they call it "MARCHELLA" I don't know. There is no "H" in it. :-P :-P :-P :-P Moan over.

See you later perhaps.

I didn't have a box to write my post in so had to sign out of Genes and come back on.....very strange.

It sounds like you've been very busy Frank, you'll need a rest now. It's still damp here, I've just had to use my hair straighteners to take away the frizz as I nipped out to the wallpaper shop and the damp air made my hair all frizzy. It looks good now :-) It was a waste of time going to the shop as we couldn't find any wallpaper better than the one we bought, so I'll be using that now. We have decided to paint some of the walls white again and maybe the chimney breast and put the coloured paper in the two alcoves, hopefully that'll look okay and not make the room to dark .

When we came home next door's daughter asked me to do some more cleaning in another two rooms as she kept getting phone calls to go to the hospital about her mum, so I've been and done that for her. She wanted me to go tomorrow but I'm going to be busy, so thought I'd go today instead.

With being so busy I haven't eaten today so I'm going to grab something now, then catch up with all the rest of the posts later.

It's Italian Frank that's why it's pronounced that way!!
We've just got back from the RUH after a consultation with OH's Oncologist! Good news there too as the blood count is exactly the same, as four months ago so no treatment needed!! Next test, in June!! Whew, hopefully some peace on the medical front!!
Your injection sounds very painful Frank, hopefully another time it will be easier!!
We do our car insurance by direct debit each month. We do all our insurance with the NFU, not the cheapest, but they have an office locally so you can go and chat to them and they have been brilliant in the past over claims for animal deaths, holiday insurance etc, always paying without a murmer. We do the car breakdown through them as well, so it's all under one roof!
Mandy, OH is just like yours, often querying if I've done something properly, or imagined a car problem, or anything else come to that! It's SO annoying!! :/: particularly if I'm right!!

Must ring son and tell him the good news on the Dad front!

Afternoon All

Gill you should see my hair today LOL Curly Whirly :-S. Its awful, and I had to take my car into the garage this morning to get the oil leak fixed. I looked like I had been dragged through a hedge backwards. I didn't have time to do anything with it .I should get the car back tomorrow.I will make sure I look presentable by then.

Good news on all your medical checks Liz. That is great for both of you.You can put it all out of your minds now .

Frank, the Sciatic nerve runs through the Buttock . Injections in the bot should be done in the Upper outer quarter so it misses that nerve. I wonder if the liquid med in the syringe was cold and so it was even thicker than normal. Also if your bum was cold that would not have helped either.Fingers crossed you wont be in pain for too long.

You have been a right chatty lot today. I havent gone through all the posts yet.

What a filthy, murky day it has been. Its been foul.It wont have lifted poor Anne's mood. I think maybe she has been low after being so ill ,the dark miserable weather and missing Amy has just all been too much for her.
<3 <3 to you Anne.

That meal I did last night was really good. I forgot to say that Marsala was one of the ingredients too. It really was delish :-D I have enough Blood Oranges left to be able to do another meal, maybe later in the week or the weekend if the Oranges are still good.
Chris has to take his car to Northampton tomorrow for new tyres(I think thats what its for) So I wont be going anywhere in the morning.
Mel have you got to get a new battery for your car? I have no idea how much new car batteries cost these days as it has been years since I have to have a new one.

Mandy ,I BELIEVE YOU when you say the engine was revving . We aren't stupid are we. We know the sound of a revving engine. Have you checked the foot mat(if you have one) as I had one once that slipped forward and got caught under the pedal causing the engine to rev.

Pork Medallions ,Hassleback Potatoes,Mushrooms and Broccoli for us tonight. There is a sauce to go on the medallions so no need to do gravy. I just hope James isnt going to be too late as I would like to be able to dish it all up at the same time.

Hannah's Gareth is going off on a Stag do on Thursday to Lisbon. My Nephew Michel(Janice's son) is also going. I think it is so funny that they know the same people. It is a 3 day Stag Do !!!. Hannah is going on a Hen do too on Saturday but this will be far more civilised :-D A meal at a Russian Restaurant in London. I get the feeling it is quite a posh do as she has had to pay a ridiculous amount of money for this meal. It better be worth it(so she says )

I am looking forward to Marcella tonight. Liz is right about the pronounciation .I used to know an Italian male called Marcello and it was said with the 'ch' sound.

Thomas is behaving a little odd today. I hope he hasnt eaten something bad. I cant be doing with another lot of cat sick in the night :-S :-S.

Time to start getting the meal sorted now.

Frank Report 19 Feb 2018 18:42

Thanks Liz, I didn't know that. Having not seen the programme, I wouldn't know.

Thanks NURSE JANE. I looked it up on Google. and it said that. I don't think I was cold, as I had just got out of a warm car. I think she was just HEAVY HANDED. It won't happen again that is for sure :-( :-( :-(

S.S pie was quite nice, even though Ros didn't like the VEG done in a Cheese sauce. So won't be doing that again. Can't please everyone, I enjoyed it !!!!

We have bought Jan a Soup Maker for her birthday in March, only for her to ring and tell us Conrad has broken his, and is ORDERING TWO one each. She managed to contact him to tell him what we are doing. Ros said he knew, as she had told him what she was doing. They just don't listen, DO THEY ??

Not sure if I will go to watch football tonight. It's on BBC but as the Tele. in the conservatory is not working, I can't watch it at home. SOAPS take president !!!!.

Busy again then Gill, more painting and papering.

Glad your meal wen down well Jane, you are a one, for trying all these new recipes. The main thing is that the Family like them. I'm not that adventurous. lol lol.

Gillx Report 19 Feb 2018 19:43

Talking of Thomas Jane, OH and Sandra wanted to go to the cattery today to look for another cat. I managed to persuade them to wait until we have finished the decorating and putting the kitchen in as I didn't think our place was safe for a cat at the moment. So it looks like we might be having another pet sometime soon.
Pleased to hear your meal was a success. So a stag and hen do, they're both going to have a good time with their friends.

That's good news that everything is okay for you Liz, one less thing to worry about and your OH too. You can both relax now.

Sandra's recording Marcella for herself, OH and I aren't really bothered about it as we have lots on our planner to get through. We haven't watched much of our recordings with watching the Olympics so the planner is starting to fill up again.

Sorry to hear about your injection Frank. I remember my mum telling me how she used to give injections there (she was a nurse) and she said imagine a cross then the injection went into the top right hand corner of the cross. Funny the things you remember, it was when Jane mentioned how it was done that reminded me ;-) Hope you're not to sore.

I wonder why you heard the revving noise on your car and now it's gone Mandy, that's quite strange. Maybe the foot mat had something to do with it like Jane said.

I'm absolutely shattered today so might have an early night. It's gone quite cold here so the fire is on full blast, no doubt I'll fall asleep on the sofa when the room warms up if I don't go to bed early. There's nothing worse with that happening and then having to be woken up to go to bed.

I've had problems with Genes today Jane so hope this post goes through okay.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 19 Feb 2018 23:53

Poor Frank, you don't usually complain about yor injection. I hope it eases by tomorrow.

Send love and wishes to our Anne and hope she feels she can post soon as we all miss her. We hav'nt heard how she got on at the show yet or perhaps she did'nt go in the end. <3 <3

The battery is arriving tomorrow so I hope I shall be able to go out in the car but the thing is when oh started it with his jump start machine and he had it running he asked me to watch the lights when he reved the engin and to tell him if the lights got brighter or stayed the same. They stayed the same so I am hoping its not the, oh goodness I have forgotten what its called!!!!!!!!! The thing that maes the leccy in a car engine. It would be expensive if thats gone.

So the meal was a success then Jane. Did everyone like it? Well they must have if your going to do it again later in the week.

I watched part of Marcella but could'nt get into it so I shan't be watching anymore. Its a bit too noisey for me as I don't like it when people start shouting. This is why I don't watch any of the soaps except Doctors with lunch.

What good news now for Liz and Ian. another few months till he's next appointment then in June Liz. I am so pleased for him as it is a dreadfull worry.

I am so please dI am not the only one getting the Error page but do you lot have to wait for ages to get into the site too. Very occasionaly I get in quite quickly but it usually takes an age. Do you have to keep signing into the net too? or is it my pc?

We have sushine this morning and I think its goig to be a lovely day. I have emptyed the washing basket so there's nothing to do. It will wait till its dull and raining to be full again. Is'nt it always the way?

It depends on when the battery comes today whether I go shopping or not and if it is the battery.

Hope all slept well last night. I had a strange dream about showing someone some things I had made and they were having their house done up. When I went the next time it was all pebbledashed. Then they had been stopped working inthe quarry as there was a big landslide and all these big rocks came tumbling down from right up the top as they had dug all the rock from underneath. It came down right across the road.

Morning Mel, morning all

Bright and sunny here to, but there is still a nip in the air.

That was a strange dream Mel. We've got pebbledash on the front of our property but I'm not that keen on it, it's also a pain to paint too. Hope the battery arrives early enough for you to go shopping. Can't you use OH's car just this once, or are you not insured to drive it?

How are you today Frank, not to sore I hope?

Hope Anne is feeling a little better today, I'm thinking of you <3

I'm sitting here with hair colouring on, it badly needed doing and although I'm watching the Olympics I should have it washed off before Elise does her speed skating. She fell and had an injury so I hope she will be okay when she does the 1000 m and doesn't fall again.

Ice skating's just started so I'll go and watch it.

Didn't get the error page today Mel, so what ever it was it must be sorted now.
