Don't do yourself a mischief Gill. If you can't mange the furniture on your own, haven't you got a "NICE NEIGHBOUR" who could help you.??
Ros has given the bedroom a spring clean, moved everything from the walls and dusted and hoovered.
There seems to be a bit of damp down the wall which we think is coming from the drain pipe that goes into the concrete out by the gate, into a SOAK AWAY. I have rung Harvey, and he is coming up on Mon/Tues. to look at it. I think we will do away with the soak away and redirect the rainwater into the drain at the side of the bungalow. He says he has loads of pipes and bends so it shouldn't cost us much.
It's turned out a sunny afternoon, so I expect the frost will develop as it gets dark.
Ros is at Choir practice tonight. She will pick up Val around 7.00 pm. I have recored her "SOAPS" for when I go to bed.
Not a lot happening here this afternoon, so I will get back to my book.

Oh dear, that was quite a hefty bill Mel, but at least you're up and running now, and it will last! We had a Sheltie when we were first married Frank and she was quite a subdued little girl, but very sweet and bidable!! Been shopping this morning as we wanted to get everything we wanted before the weather gets much colder! Gill, you're right, noisy music is not for us!! folk songs are much more our style, so we shall plead old age!!! Saw a Muntjak in the field opposite this morning! It seemed to be on its own and soon skipped off!! Made some nice stock from Sundays duck carcass, which we shall have as soup tomorrow. Tonight is Sweet and Sour chicken with rice. Nice and easy!! About to settle down with my book. Gill don't work too hard!!!

O Frank not another bad night. I hope you can sleep better tonight and get some good zzzzzz's in. You're much brighter after a good nights sleep.
It was nice to see Dermot posting again. I'm glad he keeps an eye on us.
Its ever so cold here today but we still have sunshine and not much wind but what there is is blooming freezing. Oh decided not to go out and top coat the mower deck today as he said it was too cold and for him to say that it must be. He dos'nt realize he is getting older....... and feels the cold more now.
I have just turned the heating back on as it always feels cold to me after we have had lunch. I suppose the sun has gone round a bit or its just me. :-S
I wonder if Jane has her car back today? They have had it a long while now.
Sending love to Anne and hoping she is feeling a bit better with each day that passes and can come and post again when she feels up to it. <3
I have'nt got any line left now after those three lots of washing but still have a wash left in the linen basket. It woud have been good to do it all.
The chicken run is drying nicely now thank goodness. I nearly lost my boot the other day but managed to tread on the leg part as the rest was stuck in the mud. Sometimes its easier if the mud is very wet as there's not much suction then.
I have remembered to take my other pills today as I forgot yesterday. I had taken some but not all of them. As I don't have any breakfast now I have to wait till lunchtime to take the others with food. I'm not like Frank and take them on an empty stomach......neughty boy. :-| :-|
You mind your back Gill and don't strain yourself too much if you have that papering to do. Can't Sandra help with moving the furniture?

Afternoon All The car has just been delivered.Fingers crossed the right seal has been fitted now . It has been a bit of a nuisance for the garage to have had it there for so long as it has meant they have had to put back work on some other cars. At least I havent had to pay out anything . Not you Mel !!. That must have made a bit of a dent in your bank balance :-S. But you will be happy now and feel safe going out in it again. It wouldnt me much fun breaking down in one of your tiny narrow country lanes.
I have not had a great day with this blasted pain .Even my strong painkillers havent seemed to touch it today. It's made me a right old misery guts :-S
One thing made me have a fit of the giggles earlier. I thought Chris asked me what we were having WITH our dinner tonight eg veg so I replied Carrots. He said "what just Carrots"?? I said no I would probably do some other veg too. A little later he said I hadnt told him what we were having for dinner.... He had actually asked what we were having, meaning the main dish LOL So maybe I should just dish him up a plate of Carrots :-D :-D. The more I thought about it the more I laughed and had proper tears streaming down my face. We are actually having a Sausage, bacon and Mushroom Bake WITH CARROTS :-D
Frank I only heard from Anne when she sent the emaIl of Ruby at the Meet. She sid say that she was beginning to feel better and was hoping to be back on the thread before too long.
We dont have any wooden floors here other than the hallway downstairs ,even that is not proper wood but Amtico(I think thats what its called) I have slate tiles in the kitchen which are really cold on the old tootsies if barefoot.. The mian reason I would choose wooden floors would be to reduce the amount of dust that comes from carpets. My Sister has a wooden floor in her lounge but has put a huge rug down. I remember the day many moons ago when my Dad did the bathroom with new carpet and he had it going up the side of the bath. We thought we were so modern then :-D. You dont see that these days .
I spent many hours at Northampton Crown Court with some of the people I supported with Victim Support. Some very nasty and serious cases. One case was a lady who had been held up in her home at gun point and then tied up and locked in her bathroom while the B ******S robbed the place. It was so nice to see the main culprit be sent down for 15 years. Many other cases too which are too much to go into now. One chap got life . A big cheer went up in the court room that day :-D I have never been chosen for Jury Service.I cant see that happening now.
I dont know what's on TV tonight. Hopefully there will be something good . I must have a look at the Radio Times. I did see Gogglebox is back tomorrow :-D I must crack on and prepare these CARROTS :-D

Thanks for mentioning Gogglebox Jane, I've just put it on my planner. I watch some of the older ones on Sky sometimes, so it'll be nice to watch new ones now. I can imagine you giving Chris a plate full of carrots LOL :-D Pleased to see you have your car back now.
That was a big bill for your car Mel, mind you most of it sounds like labour costs.
I like county music Liz, sometimes I don't mind something a bit louder but not very often now. I was just saying to Sandra normally when I decorate I put music on but for some reason I haven't done it this time. Mind you I have been watching the Olympics while I've been working this time.
Well, I didn't do anymore decorating, thought it best to rest my leg for the afternoon and start a fresh tomorrow instead. Sandra helped me move the TV. I never thought to ask a neighbour Frank.

Gill, I think the time has come for the elderly lady next door to go into care. Not a nice thing for her daughter to have to do ,but it is a terrible risk for her Mum to be living on her own now . Hopefully you will get some nice new neighbours when the bungalow is let out..
CARROTS cooking :-D ;-) Just waiting for James to get home now . The rest of dinner is all ready and keeping hot. Gill I just love Gogglebox. It is a new series.I wonder if the people are the same or whether there might be some new ones. I hope my favourites are still there.
I love loud music. Anything from the 60's 70's 80's as long as it has a great beat. Do any of you remember the Comedy Programme the Royal Family when they were decorating the wall?? I loved the music that played then but just cant think what it was. It was so funny.

I don't mind my music loud Jane, so long as it's something I like. I like 60's and 80's music too, not so much the 70's though, there's only a handful of records I like from that decade. Did the CARROTS go down well tonight LOL ;-) ;-) I'm gong to miss Leon on Gogglebox, I thought he was so funny. If you remember he passed away just before Christmas last year. It won't be the same without him and June.
So you've finished your crafting now then Mel, I look forward to seeing a pic when you send it.
Going to watch Corrie now.

No, I'm afraid loud music isn't for me, (or gogglebox!) never has been!! I actually like classical music, we both do, but I guess I'm out on a limb over that! We watched Marcella tonight on catchup. Bit violent, but no doubt we shall persevere! Nothing much else to watch, so I think we're off to bed with my kindle, OH no doubt will drop off pretty quickly as he's a tired old chap tonight!

I like Andre Rieu Liz, I have a few of his CD's. I love classical music too, unfortunately OH doesn't so the CD's I have I only listen to every now and then when he's out.
I have been looking at the one piece of wallpaper I put up today and don't think it's very nice, so I'm going to take it off and OH is going to paint the walls white until we can find some wallpaper we like. The paper I put on the chimney breast is lovely but if we put that on the other walls it would make this room to dark. Pity really as it's such nice paper. I'm sure we'll find something to put up on the other walls eventually. At least I don't have to wallpaper for the time being which will give my leg time to heal as it's very sore at the moment.

Oh Gill, that's a bit sad! But it's often the way that people have different likes and dislikes which aren't worth arguing about!! At least when OH is out you can listen what you like!! I prefer light stuff, to grand opera I must admit. I love Ballet too, particularly modern dance, also poetry!!! Goodness it's cold here!! A hard frost but lovely sunshine, just right for a walk! Hope your sciatica is feeling better today, Jane! Have emailed you Mel!

Morning all
Frosty here and very cold today.
I noticed that Ancestry have their records open until Sunday so I'm going to do my family tree and take advantage of the free records for a few days, it'll also give my leg a chance to get better as it's still a bit sore, so I won't be going back to the wallpapering until Monday. It'll also be nice to sit and watch the Olympics instead of wallpapering at the same time.
What is everyone else up to today?

Good morning you lot. <3 <3 <3
Another good night with the exception that the bedroom clock was knock over yesterday when Ros made the bed. It changed the rime to ONE HOUR EARLIER. So this morning when we though id was 7.45. It was 6.45. Is was't until we put the tele on later that we noticed. So we are an hour ahead of ourselves .
Dear Val next door put sheets on the line yesterday. They are sill there like SHEETS OF HARDBOARD. FROZEN SOLID. I would have thought Tony would have got them in. :-| :-|
Nothing to report, so will go and get showered.

Morning all.
Hard frost again this morning the same as you lot by the sounds of things.
So Frank you have put the clocks forward a bit earlier this year. Can't you wait till March? Its good to know you had a good nights sleep though.
I think Val must have freeze dried her sheets. I brought my washing in but its going out again now for the last final bit of drying as its oh's jogging bottoms he wears in the garden and they are rather thick. T shirts are ok to iiron. I have one more wash to put in this morning but hav'nt got round to that yet as the soap draw needs a good wash out and I keep promissing to do it so thats a job for this morning.
The sky is blue without much cloud about and is burning the frost off but we still have that easterly breeze which is so cold. Oh came in from outside and said to me "if you find a shrivelled up pink thing on the patio pick it up cos its my w*lly."

He's funny Mel, did you find it? ;-) ;-) ;-)
So you've got an extra hour to your day now Frank. Pleased to hear you had a good nights sleep, I bet you feel much better for it today.
Yes, I noticed Mandy didn't post yesterday, hope she is okay.
I've been thinking about Anne, hope things are improving for her and she's soon back with us.
I've been trying to find some records on Ancestry for my tree but so far can't seem to find the ones I need.......so much for them being free. I hope I can find a way through these brick walls I have.
I have got the fire and the heating on as it's sooo cold here today and it's supposed to be going colder over the next week. Be careful on the roads and paths if you have to go out everyone <3

Afternoon All I bet there could well be a lot of pink shrivelled things today not sure on the patio though LOL. It's blooming cold and it ain't about to get any warmer any time soon according to the forecast. Snow here maybe on Monday. It looks like Mel will be the warmest down in Devon at 0 degs !!! I love the expression Beast from the East the cold Arctic weather.
I am not bothering to put any washing out at all at the moment as I know it wont dry and cant see the point in freezing myself . Fancy Tony not bothering to bring the sheets in .I wonder how long they will hang there !!
Gill a good idea to rest your leg today and just relax and enjoy the Winter Olympics or do your tree. I must do this thing that Hannah has been asking us to do for ages and that is to say what we want should we become incapacitated . She wants to know our wishes as to what to do when our time is up(so to speak) . Keep us alive or Do not Resuscitate .What we want as regards funerals etc etc. This will be fun :-S :-S But it is important to do so I shall get on with it this afternoon.
Liz my Sciatica feels less painful so far today .I am making sure I take all the pills I need to to try and keep on top of it. I will be rattling soon :-S. I hope you have put the clock right now Frank !!!!. It must have been pretty dark when you both got up this morning :-D Lunch now. I seem to have a thing about Fish Fingers at the moment.(hope I am not pregnant :-D ) I had them yesterday and am having them again now. Just with some tomatoes, cucumber and celery.
Mel I loved your little Hedgehog . Yes it did look like it is lying in a basket :-D

Jane!!! :-D. Glad you leg is feeling better! Mine's a bit iffy, but not too bad!! A very good idea to sort out your end of life plans! We have got power of attorney in place between the two of us so one can act for the other if one of us becomes incapacitated. We've also updated our wills, and left a list of particular goods and chattles to try and prevent post mortem squabbles!!! Both ours know where we want our final resting place to be and they will make sure it happens, and said no to resuscitation when all is lost in a manner of speaking. The only thing we haven't done is power of attorney if we both/one become incapacitated. Have to have a bit of a think about that!! Bit of a depressing subject, but as you say it needs facing and addressing! It's a lovely day here, but a biting wind!! Pregnant??!! eeeek!!
