Poor little thing must have been terrified Mandy.A little nip would be nothing for the man who found him.It is always so good to hear a good ending when it comes to a lost pet. Lets hope he doesn't decide to run off again . He will be on the naughty step now and grounded LOL.
The Sciatica is not too bad again today Mandy. Still there of course but nothing like the pain I had the day before yesterday.

Chris just went to go out to the Summerhouse and found a headless baby black bunny outside the back door :-( THOMAS !!!!! :-| :-| :-| :-| There has always been a few black rabbits in the top field at the top of our road but I never seen one down as far as us. I am wondering because of all the work going on in the field with pipe work etc and the school that was built 3 years ago whether they have moved over to this side of the road. I think Thomas must have found a warren as he was desperate to go out last night .I didnt let him but then he had me awake at 3.40 am eager to get out then. I managed to stay in bed until just before 5 and then had to let him go as he was being a right pain in the neck. Hunting season has begun :-( :-(
The moon is out !! It looks quite odd up there in the blue sky. I think the wind is picking up a bit now too.The trees are blowing around quite a bit.

I have just cut up a Kilo of Stewing steak into little strips and put in the freezer .So that will be for 2 meals for the slow cooker. There were some good bargains on the meat counter in Tesco today. Brisket was 25% off too. I was wanting some Chicken Breasts with skin on. They are so hard to get now. It is just Free Range Chicken Breasts with skin.Everything else is skinless other than thighs and legs. Washing in the tumble drier,so now I am going to sit down near the fire and see what there is on TV.

Frank are next doors sheets still out ? :-D

Crocketing around is walking like a old crock!! like you might when you've just got out of an arm chair after a sleep, owing to mature years!! Yes pickling is really not doing anything, well nothing useful particularly on a nice warm day!!
Just got the washing in, it'll go on the 'clothes horse' and air in front of the log burner tonight and be put away in the morning !
We've burnt a great deal of timber this year, but it's certainly kept us warm! Lucky we don't have to buy it!! Have just seen the weather forecast for next week! I think your shopping should be safe Mel, on the other hand Monday might be a better day to go!

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Feb 2018 17:08

I would have to go early on Monday to get back for a doc's appointment at 3.50pm. I am so pleased little Max was found and returned to the fold. I bet they were so pleased to see him. Perhaps he has learnt a lesson. :-)

I have been taking patterns this afternoon. It takes me ages if I want to get them right. I made some oak leaves a while ago and the two I have sewn the veins in I could'nt find the pattern for!! I have all the others so I don't know where they went. They were on paper and the others I have cut out on some thickish perspex but these two I have done on thinner perspex so were easier to cut out.

Frank you should be well set up now you have all thoses books. You must do as the others say and have a word with the doc about your sleepers. They have changed a lot of things for the better over the 14 years since your stroke so perhaps there is a better one out there just waiting for you to come along. So do as we ALL say please.
Fumph has spoken............ (my dad used to say that)

I have had my cuppa so I am now going back to my felting.

By the way we hav'nt had the heating on since first thing this morning for an hour.

Jane

Jane Report 24 Feb 2018 17:31

I am Crocketing then Liz LOL .Or a Crockateer :-D
We have got through so many logs this winter. Shame we have to pay around £90 a load and you get yours for nothing. I have to say though I wouldn't be without the Woodburner now. It is so much more effective than the open coal fire we had before. Most of that heat went straight up the chimney and it made far more mess . I have the central heating on too but turned down. I think we might leave it on at night now but have the radiators just on te lowest setting. Or house is big and gets cold quickly in this weather if the heating is off. I am hoping though if we keep it on over night it might make Thomas sleep longer :-D :-D.

No cooking for me tonight. We are ordering a Chinese... I was as sick as a dog the last time we had one.But Chris wasn't so I am putting my sickness down to a bug. I will keep my meal fairly simple though tonight . Just Special Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Chicken. I think Chris will have a few different things.

I'd have thought you'd have enough time Mel, particularly if you asked OH to help with your chooks?! but maybe you have quite a distance to travel which can be time consuming.
Our little birds are well into the peanuts that OH put out for them, it's brilliant being able to watch them from our chairs in the sitting room.
OH and I have an in depth chat(!!!) and we've decided that he is going to sell his timber milling machine and spend more time doing things that we both want to do. It's been a difficult decision, as OH loves milling and selling timber, but there are places to go and things to see and if we don't get out and about more, time will begin to run out! That's the plan anyway!!!
TV quite dire tonight so I think a DVD is in order!!

Bunnyboo Report 24 Feb 2018 17:51

Yes Jane, a bit like being a 'you know what' beginning with B!!!!
We only get free logs Jane because they're in payment for letting our barn out to the chap who lives down the road. He's a tree surgeon so it works really well - for the minute!!
As you say the woodburner is brilliant and keeps us really cosy.
Enjoy your Chinese. We haven't had one for ages - food (literally!) for thought!

Winds dropped a bit and I have just shut the chickens in. Saw the fox in the garden again today in the orchard.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 24 Feb 2018 18:42

The chickens and bantams don't like oh!! and he has'nt got a pair of wellies that fit him and I have to open the bantam house up to get their food out at night and he is too big to get down in there. He dos'nt move very quickly anymore with his back and hips and can't bend down because his tummy is too big!!!!!!!!!

Morning all,

Had a lie in this morning so I am late on parade. Suns out but there was a frost last night.

I have been looking out the window and can hardly see the keyboard now as the suns so bright.

Nothing to report this morning except I had a dream about Wembury church and they were decorating it for Christmas and there were colledge children there boys separated from the girls. There were children practising in the chior carols and we (I don't knwo who) were up in the attics looking under the floor boards for money. We found some but someone came up so we had to hide it in case they wanted a share as we wanted to give it to the charity. What charity I don't know but some of it was wrapped in paper and some in silver foil. There were also an amount of pearl rings in pink and white. Then I woke up.

Frank Report 25 Feb 2018 12:45

Afternoon all,

What am I going do with myself ?? I stayed up late last night 11.30 pm. Roa came in around 12.45 (still awake) by 1.30 I hen't settled and got up. Red and watched a bit od Telw, Went back at 4.00 am I laid awake then until after 5.00 am. Have you ever felt so tired the your skin stars to crawl.!!?? what a horrible felling I had itches all over my body. I was awake again by 8.30 and feel absolutely DRAINED. :-P :-P :-P

Roa wanted me to stay in bed and catch up on some sleep, but I just don't feel tired. Just knackered. ;-) ;-) ;-) She wants to prepare dinner for this evening, but as it's my job, I said no. It's all done now, including pudding and cauliflower cheese sauce.

How great that the little dog was returned home safe and sound. Did the chap who found him KNOW the owners, or did the dog have a collar and address on it ?? Pity he had a little bite at him, I bet he was just SO frightened. Poor little chap.

Martines MIL passed away at 2,30 am this morning. She wants Ros to go and help sort out her cloths. She ferrets money away everywhere in her house. So they will have to go through every pocket in every garment to check there is no money in them. .. She has been on a lot of benefits for any years, and hardly spends any money apart from food (which isn't much). ,this week she opened a cupboard and found £500.00 tucked away, so Martine will have a job her hands sorting that lot out.

It's a lovely sunny day here. I am still in my dressing gown, having just finished reading the paper. So will get showered and shaved and get dressed.

Are you feeling any better this morning Gill.??

I have never heard of that saying either Liz. It's a good idea, to do things and go places you want to go. I keep saying we aught to book a few coach trips and go places we haven't been, but it's like everything else, you never seem to get round to doing it.,

The washing has gone from the line Jane, at last. Gawd knows what it will be like after two/three days out in this weather. But it's not unusual.

I read my book through Ant and Dec. I can't stand them.!!! I did manage to catch Hugh in Dorset. Very good prog. I also like his River cottage.

Hey up, another line of washing just going out. !!!!

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Feb 2018 13:24

Washing of yours or next doors Frank? Seems like your not getting much sleep at all at the moment so you should do as us girls have been saying and go and tell the doc and see if she can change your sleepers. PLEASE. We can't have you making yourself ill over this whioch will happen if you don't tell the doc. Have you tried eating a fat lettuce sandwich before bed? Anything is worth a try.......

Oh has just been outside and said he saw a bumble bee!! He said "I bet it wished it had'nt woken up".

Just about to start the big breakfast and then I want to do some crafting.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Feb 2018 14:06

Afternoon Everyone
Frank do you have a radio that you could put beside your bed and have it playing Classic FM .Chris often falls asleep with that on. Just on low .It is very relaxing and may help you get off to sleep. Ros could turn it off when she comes in.Maybe even leave it.I am sure though that Ros must disturb you sometimes by going to bed so late.
Or another thing which is good is to have some kind of meditation music playing . That would send me of to sleep really well.It is so soothing.

Did Brian get to see his Mum before she passed away in the night? I wonder how much cash will be found around the house?? If she used to hide cash it could be anywhere !!!!. So many people do this and in the strangest of places too.

Mel fancy dreaming of Wembury Church. I suppose it was because we were talking about it the other day. I could have been one of the Choir Girls in your dream :-D. I never did enjoy being in the choir . I think it was mainly because we would get 2 shillings when we went to practice and half a crown if we sang at a Wedding :-D.
One of the Choir Ladies was called Mrs Atkins and she was a right so and so. None of us liked her. She would often poke her finger in our backs if she thought we were mucking around or not taking things seriously . It didnt half hurt too. You should have seen her face when Leslie Boyce brought a Slowworm and kept in down the front of her Cassock LOL .It crept out the top :-D :-D Should have seen my face too :-S :-S I was not amused and just wanted to get away from Leslie who was sat right next to me. I love that old Church now and whenever I am back in Wembury I always go and sit in there for a little while. I am not religious but just love the peace and stillness of a really old Church. The musty smell too :-D

The sun is so bright I have had to pull the curtains. It is a lovely day.All change from tonight onwards.

I am just going to start that dish I did last week with the Chicken,Blood Oranges etc. I can prepare it up to stage 4 and then leave it for a few hours before the final stage and then cooking.

No more Chinese for me. I had the terrible runs in the night :-S :-S.. I think I need stay clear of the brightly coloured sauce .Maybe Chowmein or something like that is more suitable for me. I did enjoy the meal too. Chris was fine .
Mandy it is £95 for our logs. I wonder if it is because we probably have more trees in our county? I somehow dont imagine Norfolk as having many forests .

How are you today Gill?

Bunnyboo

Bunnyboo Report 25 Feb 2018 16:04

Oh dear Jane, no more spicy Chinese for you!!
We've just had lunch, roast beef, Yorkshire's, roast spuds and leeks in white sauce, it was delicious!! Now OH is having a snooze before going out to Merln to give him a walk up the road. I shall go with him with Cas then that's us done for the day!
Lovely sunny day and yes I put some washing out! It's all but dry, just needs airing and putting away.
Frank, I agree with Jane, and would think someone coming to bed much later must be a bit disturbing, which might be contributing to your bad nights! I suppose you get used to it though. A change of sleeping pills might well help.
I hope Gill and Anne are feeling a little better today.

Jane

Jane Report 25 Feb 2018 17:12

Liz I think it must be the Monosodium Glutamates in the Chinese food that affects me.
I never used to have this trouble. But oh boy . I wasnt sure which way things were going to go last night.Up or down. I had the inner liner of the bathroom bin beside me while I was on the loo just in case. Have to say I felt quite wrung out when I woke this morning.I drank a lot of water too in the night.

Dinner is ready and all prepared now for later. I just need to put the one big Roasting tray in and then do some Broccoli which needs using up. James has just arrived home from Jess and said "Oh Mum something smells good" :-DNow I have done that I just need to finish drying all the washing .The tumble drier is in the garage and it is bitterly cold in there.I dont want to have to keep going in to check on the blooming washing. I did bring some of Thomas's food pouches out of the garage as they are so cold. Not that he will be eating much of that. I think he is still filling up on bunnies again . :-S

I was just thinking about the bungalow next door with this freezing weather coming up. I dont think they have left the heating on at all for the whole month they are away in Australia.Just hope they dont have any frozen pipes.No-one has a key to the property .
They never even told us they were going to be away .I only know because the neighbour the other side ofthem told us.

Chris is filling the window feeder up again . We are doing that about 3 times a day at the moment !!!. The Blackbirds are the bigggest culprits for scoffing and flicking so much food out onto the ground. That then encourages the Squirrel :-S

I stocked again this morning with some more fresh veg potatoes etc.I think we have enough fresh food here now to keep us going for the next few days at least. I have a feeling that we could well be in for quite a bit of snow. I reckon the Gritter will be up our road overnight now we have a Primary School at the top. That was built 3 years ago as the first part of the 'new develpment'. There is still no infra structure .The school has lorries 3 times a week to take away waste from toilets etc and there is no gas mains so they have Calor Gas for heating etc. How expensive it all that !!!. Even the road down to the school is not fully tarmaced. It all seems a bit crazy to me.

Mel Fairy Godmother

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 25 Feb 2018 17:57

Jane that sounds dreadful with no gas or proper loo's doe the children. Is that aloud so you think??

Suns just going down here so it will soon be time to venture out to shut the chickens and bantams in then I don't have to go out there anymore. Its still very cold in the breeze. Mandy can you get the wind to blow the other way please? On second thoughts it might rain then.

I am havng some fun with my craft. I have just learnt how to make freezer paper at home so I don't have to buy that now. Thing is my cling films a bit old so I shall have to buy some new stuff and chuck this lot out. It twlls you how old it is as its from Somerfield.
