They have normal toilets and heating Mel at the school. It is just that the main drains and gas pipes haven't been done yet . The School has been built in what was a field . It is apparently a very good school .I just think how much it must be costing the local council . Just the cost of having the cost of having all the waste taken away 3 times a week and the price of Calor must be horrendous .

I haven't heard of Somerfields Supermarket shops for YEARS Mel LOL Did one of the other big groups take them over? I am curious as to how you make freezer paper !

Hurry up and get the birds done and tucked up for the night. I am waiting for Thomas to come in and then the back door will be locked for the night. I just hope he doesn't turn up with any more little Black baby Bunnies.
James is just having a bath and then I will be ready to dish dinner. It doesnt half smell good. :-D. No TV on here all day. Alexa has been playing some very nice music.Chris has been sitting reading and listening . He says he is going to go on a walk in the morning .He will have wrap up warm.

Goodness Jane, no infrastructure for the primary school!!! Like Mel, I wouldn't have thought this would be allowed at least only very short term
Have just seen the weather forecast!! It looks very dodgy to say the least. It doesn't look as if it will snow here, at least not till later in the week, but who knows!! Tomorrow we shall be getting in any shopping we need and then batten down the hatches for the duration!!

Evening all,

Cor blimey it's cold out there now ,it has been a lovely sunny day though .
I don't know about the Beast from the East i think it should be the Blast from the Past if we're getting all that snow ,we use to have snow banked up on the side of the roads now if we get just a little every thing grinds to a halt .

Somerfields was years ago, now its the Co Op ,yes get your girls all tucked up for the night Mel ,i bet they have their feathers all fluffed up with this cold weather .
I've never heard of freezer paper , what are you making that you need that for
Mel ?

So another bad night for you Frank ,could you use some ear phones with your
radio ? you can get those tiny ones that you hardly know are in your ears ,it might help you nod off .

Oh no more Chinese food or you then Jane if its making you sick each time you eat it , stick to your nice home made cooking at least you know whats in it .
Fancy your neighbours not telling you they are away ,a month is a long time to be away ,they could well come home to a nasty flood if the pipes freeze up and burst ,just think of the damage !!

No Gill today ? she must still be poorly with this bug .

Love to Anne <3 <3 hope your beginning to feel a bit brighter

Anne

Anne Report 25 Feb 2018 20:29

Evening all

Thank you for all your good wishes and understanding. I am beginning to feel so much better although first thing in the morning is not too good.

Ruby really enjoyed her Boston meet up in Hove although she found it a bit over whelming to start with there were about 13 other dogs all Bostons apart from one French bulldog. The park was just a stones throw away from someone I knew who owned one of the Belgrave Crescents, Regency buildings on the seafront, she also owned houses in Wales and a house on the outside of Wokingham. I use to work a few hours a week for her in her dress shop "Anil Mayfair Modes" I did the payroll and the banking and some serving in the shop, as she was in Hove most of the time. She was Welsh , her daughter Marjorie was married to a Indian skin specialist they had houses in Delhi and Kashmire, so plenty of money but they were lovely people.

We had to take Ruby to he vet last Thursday as one of her ears was very inflamed so I have to put drops in twice a day and it does look much better, she will been seen again next Thursday.

I haven't read many of the posts yet but do hope Gill is feeling better today

I went to see the Diabetic Doctor last week he was pleased with all my results but took me off Atenolol as this gives a higher risk of strokes and I am keeping my blood pressure under control I take my own readings at home now so no white coat hypertension.

How lovely to hear from our Anne. Hope Ruby's ear clears up soon. At least you were on top of it straight away and thats always good. Perhaps she picked up something from the meet.

Frank Report 26 Feb 2018 10:05

Good morning Liz, and all,

Slept like a log last night. 10 30 to 8.30 this morning, One toilet trip about 2,30. Roa woke about 9.30.

I sat and read my book through D.O.I. but enjoyed Endeavour . Good story line and you could hear what they were saying. I see MARCELLA is on tonight. It's got to be better than last weaker it will be off !!!!

I do have the radio on at night. but turn it off when I settle down. I don't think it's Ros that disturbed me as the new mattress is so firm, you don't feel the other one move. It's more like knowing she is still up, and MAY (and she does.) fall asleep on the sofa. watching her jewellery programmes.

Nice to see you Anne, and pleased you are on the mend. Just take your time, and all will be well. How's our little Ruby's ear ?? Has the drops started to do their job ??

Well is you have the snow Mandy, I expect we will get it also with this Easterly wind. Even though I must say there's not much breeze here at the moment. But looks very cold.
Breakfast time then shower. Tomorrow it's MOT time so fingers crossed. !!!

Morning All,

Suns out here again but the wind is much stronger today and bitterly cold.

I have to go shopping today early and I have the doc's at 3.35pm so I shan't be about today so don't worry about me.

Hope Frank had a better night last night and Anne and Gill are feeling much better today. It was nice to see Anne post yesterday and give that lovely Ruby a cuddle from me and that her ear is healing now she has the drops.

I wonder if Mandy has still got the snow that was falling yesterday evening?

Has anyone else got it apart from Liz as we know they hav'nt there?

Frank Report 26 Feb 2018 13:37

What are you like Mel, Don't your have a calendar that you put all your dates and times on. WE DO, and it looks well for Ros. Just the odd thing she puts down on the wrong DATE.

No Jane, Martine and Brian weren't able to be with his Mum. They found the Will yesterday and she had made a very good and old friend her executer . The problem is she DIED A FEW WEEKS GO. I said they will need to get a Solicitor involved to sort it out.

Ros has gone over to see Martine with a card, and see if she can do anything to help her this afternoon. She will then pop into Tesco to get some more bits we need.

Still no snow here, but the wind is getting up from the South East, so not a good sign. The clouds are beginning to get a bit black and the SUN has disappeared.

I am looking at Florists on the web, So I can order some flowers for my sisters 83rd Birthday next Sunday 4th March. I have her Card ready to write in, then Ros will get it posted.

I have stripped all he lamb off the bone this morning, to be warmed up in gravy for tonights dinner. In doing so I have STABBED MY right index finger on the knuckle. It didn't bleed a lot as here not much skin there. But I dug it into the bone, and that Bu@@er really hurts.

I mentioned our next door but one neighbour, who died a couple of weeks ago. No one has been near the bungalow, or the car. The car if Automatic might be suitable for Ros. It's a 69 plated Ford Focus. It wouldn't have done a lot of miles as she never went anywhere, part from Town, and that was once in a BLUE MOON. I am thinking of ringing her Daughter to see is she has any plans for disposing of it. If not I may make an offer. !!!!

This latest book I am reading, is getting more and more difficult to PUT DOWN. It's so good and diverse between.three families, one who's husband got killed on a motor cycle, another with a daughter who needs a liver transplant, and the Detective Chief Inspector who is investigating THREE bodies recovered from the sea off Brighton and Hove, who have had all their organs REMOVED. When finished I have more of the same author to read. I am so pleased I borrowed the first book from Tony. I will now be able o pass on my new ones to him.

How dd Merlin enjoy his little walk. ?? I have this image in my brain where you and Ian live Liz, It seems an idilic spot ,with Countryside all around you. <3 <3 It's funny how ones brain gets these thoughts.

Well onwards and upwards as they say, this won' get baby a new hat. !!!! Carry on looking for flowers now.

Well we're back, have had smoked salmon and crusty bread for lunch + C.O.T. Have taken Cas and are now sitting down watching 'Shed and Buried', well, OH is!! M introduced OH to this prog, and he loves it!! I'm going to watch 'Call the Midwife' on catchup in a minute!
I think you're wise to do your shopping today Mel, it's difficult to say what tomorrow will bring, but I don't think it'll be good!!
Yes we are pretty rural here Frank, but the village is only half a mile away away, and the little supermarket there sells everything you need, + it has a hairdresser, a doctors surgery, + a couple of other shops, so we're pretty well catered for!!
Merlin loves going to the village! People stop and chat to him and make him feel like a super star.
OH has to have two small fillings, so it's a good thing he goes regularly, then these things can be picked up before they become a problem!
We liked Endeavour too Frank, the series has really improved! We recorded a prog about Hannibal and his elephants which looked as if it might be interesting. Will be watching it later.

Jane Report 26 Feb 2018 17:58

Afternoon All
Well I was waiting to give a snow report but so we have only a few flurries. I thought you Mandy would have had a fair bit. But it is early days. I think we are off Amber Alert and down to Yellow now. Mind you the clouds look to be building up again.
We made James take a snow shovel in his car this morning . You just never know if it might be needed .

I bet you feel better for a good kip last night Frank. Lets hope you get the same again tonight :-D

I imagine now the the executer of the ladies will has passed away the estate will go to Probate. I dont really know about these things. It is sad though that Brian and Martine were unable to be there when Brian's Mum died :-(

So Merlin is star of the show when he visits the village Liz :-D I think it is lovely that you can walk him down thereand he can be made a fuss of :-D.I bet he loves every minute of it LOL.

Mel not getting the day wrong again for the Drs !! Didnt you do this a couple of weeks ago? You didnt go all the way there today did you??

That was nice to hear from Anne last night.I hope each day gets better for her now :-D

3 programmes I like tonight and all on at the same time :-S Marcella, Collateral and 24hours in A&E. Decisions decisions as to which one to watch..

I have a Chicken Casserole in the oven for tonight and have potatoes on boiling ready to mash .No Dumplings though.A big bag of Spring Greens will go nicely and some sprouts .

More sheets on next doors line Frank? It's just too blooming cold for me to stand out there and hang all mine out. I am having to rewash some of my clothes again as they came out with all dirty looking streaks on :-S. So before I put them back in I have the machine on a clean cycle which will hopefully get rid of all the soapy sludgy grime.

No Gill again today. That is 2 days now unless I have missed a post.

Has anyone watched that new Comedy After Sunset? I say Comedy.Neither of have found it at all funny and have very disappointed in it so far.I dont think we shall bother with it again now.

Thomas has only shown his face twice today since I had to let him out at 4.30 am !!. I saw him just now and thought he was on his way in so opened the back door for him and he just looked at me and wandered off on the range again :-S

I am sure Frank ,your Sister will love the flowers you are sending for her Birthday. I think you said the other day that she was having better days at the moment.
I'm looking at a vase of Tulips that have suddenly flopped !!.Three still standing at the moment . I think I need to get rid of them now.

Mel Fairy Godmother Report 26 Feb 2018 18:03

YOu sound well into your latest book Frank. I.m pleased you're enjoying it.

Got home just after 3pm I think. I had'nt looked at my watch. I had so much stuff it took me ages to pack it all away. Then half way through I noticed the kittle wild birds feeding like crazy so I went out and fill all their feeders up. They can,t go to bed on empty stomachs in this weather. The robins have been fighting over the mealworms too. I really could do with some chicken food but we will see how it looks tomorrow. Its funny going shopping on a Monday. Much busier which is why I now go on a Tuesday as that market day up the pannier market so the shops seem quieter.

Woner if Mandy's snow carried on. Perhaps we will hear from her later.

Where's our Jane too.

Liz we watch Shed and Buried. Have done for a long while but now we keep seeing repeats. They aught to come here as we have plenty of stuff they would like.

I know its going to be cold because my hands have gone all dry again. they always do it when it going to be REALLY cold. Sometimes they are better than the forcast. :-S

Jane if the tulips still look good you could try putting a pin through the stem just under the flower and cut a bit off the end of the stem and put them up to their necks in water.

My birthday valentine roses have opened up a treat and still look good.

I am sure your sister will be pleased with her flowers Frank. All us ladies like our flowers.

I have two big daffs out in the orchard and a pot of little ones out by my shed.

Jane

Jane Report 26 Feb 2018 18:14

I was in there just before you Mel :-D
I always remember the Pannier Market in Bideford. Right up the top . My Aunty Joyce used to go every Tuesday without fail. She loved buying things off the Second Hand Antique stall. There was a Bakers there somewhere where she bought some kind of Baps (I am going to ring Janice to find out what they were actually called)
