I have just seen Norfolk on the news Mandy. Those poor people whose homes are now so near the edge. It seems at least most of them have their possesions (sp) out.

Morning all JUST.
I went to empty the papers and cans in the bin his morning, and nearly got blown over what snow is left, is frozen on the patio and drive.
We had a very nice meal with J & C yesterday. The only trouble was, we had ROAST CHICKEN. Considering I did a roast chicken last Thursday, Chicken curry Friday, Indian takeaway Saturday which was also CHICKEN. I am walking round this morning CLUCKING and FLAPPING MY WINGS. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Tonight I have a nice piece of pork with a good looking skin, that should give a nice crackling for Ros. I can't eat it. Roasts, parsnips, cauli, brussels, peas and carrots. Won' t bother with a Yorkshire tonight.
The weather was quite bad in Lincolnshire, with people having to fig out their cars from the snow drifts. I think Mandy should have been alright where she is situated. Are you alright Mandy ???
Martines Uncle George, who is 100 later this month, loves all types of WAR FILMS. So I have bought him a couple of box sets, which he will watch over and over again. Martine says the ones he has now, he watches all he time. So these will give him a change. It's Martines MILs funeral on Wednesday. After the Crematorium we are going to a local pub for a drink and Sarnie's. Then Wednesday we are out with J & C to our favourite Chinese. They are picking us up at 6.15 pm
Easter Sunday we are having J & C round for dinner.I have a full leg of lamb in the freezer. So won't have to buy meat. I saw on CountryWise last night, that we are eating 40/60% less LAMB. I don't wonder at it. With the price of it. Bring down the price and we will buy more of it. !!!
I hope you all keep yourself's warm and safe, if you go out. xxx See you later.

Afternoon all,
Yes we're ok here Frank, there's a few patches of ice about on the paths but all the roads seem to be running ok now . I don't think it's quite as cold as yesterday, we have a lovely blue sky out there now and the wind is still blowing . Those poor people at Hemsby just waiting for the sea to claim their homes ,but they are all rallying round to help each other .
I've been having a go at the grouting between the floor tiles in the conservatory it has got really grotty looking so I've given it a good scrub with one of those wire pan scourers and some Cif and it's come up a treat ,it just needs another mop over now. It was a bit back aching so i nipped into the shed and got the long handled wire scraper for the slabs and put the wire pan scourer on the end ,it saved all the bending .

Even though I knew what we were having for dinner, I hadn't prepared anything. When I went in the kitchen, Ros had done everything apart from making the cheese sauce and gravy. I have done that now.
I have been back reading my book. The last couple of Chapters seem very boring, so not enjoying it as much as before. But I will persevere and finish it. I still have another six under my computer table to start on when I am ready.
Ros is sorting out all her materials. As she isn' going back to "LINUS" due to their move, she will give the materials to Margaret, who will do something with it. She has made some more of the mitten things, for the dementia patients, that she is going to give to a local CARE HOME.
Just went into the conservatory, it's like a FURNIS out there. The sun is really hot through the glass. But, Blooming cold as soon as you open the door. that wind seems never ending.
Not feeling on top of the world today , I have a lot of pain from my arthritis in my hands, and hips. This cold weather can' help, can it. Roll on the SPRING. lol lol

Afternoon all
Bright and sunny here and quite warm too. The snow we had melted pretty much straight away so we've been lucky in that respect. It's like a nice spring day out there. I even noticed that the Camellia's I dug up and put in pots are starting to flower, which I'm surprised at with it being less than a year, but very pleased as they should look quite nice when the flowers come out properly.
OH is at hospital now for his operation....well procedure, they are checking what the problem is with his bladder and also checking for Cancer. The poor man has been busy all day with Sandra and I putting everything back up in the loft as he thinks he might not be up to it later, so that's all done now. The roof is fine after leaving it for the weekend. We left it just to check there were no more leaks and thankfully there weren't. I've just finished hoovering so now I'm going to have a sit down and relax with Sandra while the bath is running.
So you're all chickened out then Frank LOL :-D :-D You did make me laugh when you said you were clucking and flapping your wings ;-) Good idea of Ros's to give the material away if she can't use it herself, it'll save it going to waste. Sorry to hear you're in pain today, hope it eases for you soon. You're probably right, the cold weather won't be helping.
It sounds like you've been very busy Mandy cleaning all that grout. How big is your conservatory? Good idea to use the long handled wire scrapper with the scourer on the end, like you said it saved you all that bending. I noticed all those homes on the edge of the cliff online, it must be awful for the people who own them. Nice that everyone is rallying around to help them though.
What did Stuart say about the car Mel? Hope it's not to serious and doesn't cost you the earth to have it fixed.
Going to get a cuppa now, I'm really thirsty with all the dust, then I'll have a nice soak in the bath and wash my hair.

Good news, OH is home from the hospital and all his tests came back clear so there's nothing for him to worry about health wise now. They even told him the results of todays procedure which he wasn't expecting. I've just run him a bath as he's a bit sore. He can't take any pain killers until 6pm.
How are you feeling now Frank? Hope your pains have eased a bit for you.

Ssun came out after lunch here and most of the snow has gone now and the solar panels have cleared so we have logged up a bit today.
I made a BIG pan of soup this morning and we had two bowls each with nice warmed rolls which I did in the oven. I was so full afterwards I could hardly move.
Still had frozen chicken drinkers this morning so had to thaw those out. Took my car round to Stewart's after lunch. I went to the local shop first for a few bits and some cigs for oh as he said he was busy but would try to fit it in between jobs. He said it shoudl take about an hours labour and the part would be about £40. I have to pay VAT now as he is now registered. So I don't know when my little Stagecoach will be back until Stewart rings me to say its ready.
I am doing him a chilli tonight and I shall have eggs on toast or something like that. May have an omlett..........shall have to see.
I don't know whether it was the snow but I just could'nt send as many pics as I wanted to yesterday and now I can't remember which one I did send that got through and which did'nt.
Frank I don't think you will want to see chicken again for quite a few days now. That was unfortunate they cooked roast chicken. As they had asked you to dinner you'd have thought they might have bought a nice piece of meat rather than poultry.

Evening All
This wind today hasn't eased up at all.It is bitter !!! Like yours Liz our snow has all but gone now, just little clumps left.
Oh what a relief for OH Gill that all is fine with those health checks today :-DThat is a big worry off your minds.
I have been feeling really queasy this afternoon ,but I think it might be my own fault as I took my Omeperole at the same time as my Ibuprofen :-S.That is the only thing I can of which might have caused it.Burping like crazy too :-S :-S I don't think i shall be eating much for dinner. Maybe one egg and a Bubble and Squeak . Chris will have 3 eggs,3 Bubble and Squeaks and a tin of Baked Beans.
Mel I forwarded your pics on again today just in case you wanted me to like yesterday. Your garden looked so lovely with all that snow on the trees in the Orchard and the little Spring Flowers in amongst the snow on the lawn.
So no more Twiddlemuffs from Ros. My friend has stopped doing them for now and is knitting little hats for Prem Babies. Ros did those too I seem to remember. I bet every care home in the country must have some Twiddlemuffs now :-D :-D
Oh I did feel sorry for the newly married couple who had to spend their wedding night on the floor of a Hall on the A30.That is certainly a day to remember and a tale to tell any children they might have :-D :-D.
The weather man says we have lost the bitterly cold easterly wind. I think he is telling porkies. He needs to come here !!!! I expect Thomas will be scuttling back home soon. He has hardly been out at all today because of this wind.
Chris ordered MORE logs again!!!. I don't think we have ever got through as many as we have this winter since we had the woodburner put in. I have an Update message pop up so will install whatever now. I hope it doesnt take for ever.

OH has just come in from taking Cas in the field, and he said that she really loved the snow! He has been taking her for her runs during the slippery weather, and said that she had a load of fun, pouncing in the snowdrifts and chasing the snowballs that OH was throwing for her!! Sadly for her its nearly all gone now! We had lunch at lunch time today, so it's fried eggs and baked beans for supper cooked by OH! :-D

I cooked a chilli for oh but after my soup lunchtime I did'nt really want much so I had some toast and marmalade.
Sounds like Cas had a good time in the snow. We have still got loads on the west lawn and in places the sun did'nt reach but most has gone from the orchard and off the trees. Not much around the back of the bungalow but what is there has gone all icy and crunchy and its nice to tread on it. The stars are shining tonight and there's still a bit of a very cold breeze.
Have been wanting to make something but can't get into it.
Jane do you buy your bubble and squeak?

A very good morning to you all,
I slept the sleep of the gods last night. In bed by 10.15 pm Listened to he radio until 11.00. (Great TUNES) All settled down, and didn't feel Ros come in. Woke around 5.00 for the loo, and then slept until 8.30. (YES 8.30)
Great news for your OH Gill. I know when I went for my scan, and they gave me the all clear, it is a weight off your mind.
I agree with you Jane. It's fine these weather people standing in a warm studio telling us all about how it's getting better. But they aren't out in it. !!!
So our Mel, is a STAR GAZER then. I never seem to bother to look out at the night sky, unless a plane goes over that sounds very low.
I bet Cas is/had the time of the life, chasing around in the snow, especially with Ian throwing SNOW BALLS. I bet she slept well after that.
Roa bought me a tray of King Prawns, all peeled and ready to eat. So I will have those for lunch today. She is having her nails done this morning and is just checking the time. When I bought her Crumpets and Marmalade in this morning, she had her eyes closed, so I don't know what sort of night she had. She never mentioned anything.
I don't know about all couples, but we don't tend to get into conversations in the mornings. ROS is not a morning person. ;-) ;-) ;-) :-P :-P :-P :-P
Sitting here last night, I looked through more books by the latest Author I like, and bought another THREE.
Jane, Ros hasn't give-up making the mittens. It's the QUILTS (STAY WITH US) lol lol Linus has moved the site from Weedon to Daventry Football club. It is up two flights of stairs , and as many of the women are elderly, some have given it up. She will give the materials to Margaret, who will continue making them, but will take hem to the local hospital.
Well I haven't has a visit from my dear neighbour DENIS. Perhaps everything is sorted, and he doesn't need to keep me informed. lol lol
See you all later. xx

Morning frak and all,
We have bright sunshine here at the moment, blue sky with lots of plane lines criss crossing it and a few thin whispy white clouds. I must say its good to see the sunshine.
Glad you had a very good night by the sounds of your post Frank. Keep it up! More of your books too to keep you company when Ros goes out.
We still have patches of snow about and its still not that warm out there.
Oh is outside doing the mower deck I think. He has just asked me for some little plastic bottles I washed out for him LAST YEAR and expected me to know where they are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Much warmer here today and t be snow nearly all gone- hooray! Frank, we usually wake roughly at the same time, have a cuppa in bed, (made by OH,) and listen o Radio 4 till about 8 ish, OH gets breakfast while I shower and dress. He sends Cas down to our bedroom most morning's to tell me breakfast is ready!! and yes we chat quite a bit at breakfast, (no radio or telly!) then get on with the day! Coffee at about 10.30, (more chat!) then shopping or whatever till lunch. Afternoon? snooze gardening, reading, whatever takes your fancy!! bed about.10.00! A steady old derby and joan life really!! Neither of us have the energy we once had and luckily we like the same things by and large, so our wound down life suits us both. Hard to believe that 10 years ago I was still working part time, and OH full time! We were certainly busier then!! Think I'll give the fridge freezer a birthday today, I haven't done it for ages!

Morning all
Bright and sunny again today and quite a bit warmer too.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes for OH, he has just rang his mum to tell her the good news, he didn't want her worrying as she has enough on her plate with her other son.
I've been sorting a bit of the garden out today while the weather is nice. I've put the Cana lily in the greenhouse topped it up with some compost and gave it a good water, so it should be happy in there away from anymore bad weather. I've also rang the builder who put in a new side gate for us a couple of years ago to see if he can sort out the rotten gate further down the side of the bungalow. He's coming around tomorrow afternoon to take a look. We did ring someone else to give us a quote but he never got back to us......his loss. We know the fella who came last time is good, even if he is a bit expensive. At least that'll be done soon, I'm also going to discuss the new fences with him too.
Your life sounds very relaxing Liz, ours is always go go go LOL ;-) We still haven't got round to putting in the new kitchen yet with being so busy lately. We were hoping the fella who didn't get back to us would of done it but that doesn't look the case now......never mind it'll save us some money doing it ourselves. I've been thinking of insulating the spare bedroom as we have condensation problems on the outer walls. I did it in the back room and it worked a treat, no more mould anywhere, so hopefully it'll solve the damp problem in the other room too. Once that is done I've got some wallpaper I can make a feature wall out of behind the bed, then that room will be sorted. I'm quite enjoying seeing some colour on the walls for a change as we've had magnolia or white for years. Our place is going to look lovely when it's all finished. It sounds like Cas is having a great time in the snow, she'll miss it when it's all gone. Our snow only lasted a few hours and it's been lovely and sunny ever since.
Hope you are feeling less queasy today Jane. So you think it was your meds? At least it's not a bug, so hopefully you'll feel much better now.
Pleased you had a good nights sleep Frank, you'll feel on top of the world today :-) Yes it is a weight of OH's mind knowing he's alright. Hopefully he'll start to sleep better. He didn't have a very good night last night, but with a bit of luck he'll sleep better tonight.
Hope you're not without your car for long Mel and it doesn't cost to much to fix. How is your crafting coming on? Did you find the plastic bottles in the end?
Off for a cuppa now, then I need to do a bit of housework and finish sorting out the spare room. I have a few boxes in there that need sorting out, they are a bit dusty and I want to put them in the spare wardrobe as they are for items we have in the bungalow.......CD player, DVD players and the like, so I don't want those in the loft getting dusty again.

Pleased to hear you sounding more positive, I think you'll find OH is less forgetful now he he hasn't any health worries, there's nothing like stress for playing on the mind. We will have to 'stir our stumps' a bit this summer, as there are a few minor jobs that need doing round the bungalow. Both outside ends need re painting, and the kitchen floor needs re - varnishing, I expect we'll find other things as well!! We're having supper at lunch time again! Afternoon all,
I have had a late breakfast/early lunch. Tiger rolls filled with prawns and seafood sauce. Had a nice COC that Ros made me before going to get her nails done.
Like you Liz, I am quite happy not to have anything on , T,V. or radio. in the morning, but Ros doesn't like the house being quiet. So the Tele is on while she's around. Now everywhere is silent. BLISS. llol lol.
Yes Gill, I agree with Liz, I would love to have 10% of your energy. I could then get on and get jobs done. By the time I have showered and shaved and prepared dinner, I am ready for a rest, which I do most days. As you know I do enjoy my reading, and afternoon T.V. with NAT. GEO. some wonderful places they go, and so interesting.
I am not one for the soaps, and some of these series. I thought the DURRELL'S on Sunday was absolute trash, I will give in another week to improve, if not it will be off. Good Karma Hospital looks like being good again this series.
Sill very cold outside. I went to get the bins in this morning, and found some food had been spilt on the road from a Food Caddy, when the council men emptied them. Not sure if it was mine or not, but I cleaned it up anyway. That should be noticed by the men collecting the bins, and cleared up by them.
I see on the BBC news, that a young woman had her car stolen with her 3 year old daughter in it. It (the car) was found in a river. The poor child died. Wouldn't I love to get my hands on these YOBS that did the. I sickens me to the core.
