Afternoon all

Just about to grab something to eat, I've been in the front garden all day with OH and we're almost there preparing one border so with a bit of luck we'll have some plants in there this afternoon.

I haven't caught up with any posts yet so hope everyone is okay. I'll try and get back on here later if I'm not to tired and fall asleep ;-)

Mandy I think I may put a pin cusion in and that oak leaf thing I made years ago. Maybe one of my pouches or the brooches with the rabbits on. It will only happen if Anne up the shop will put them in for me as you have to have them in by some ungodly time in the morning and I am not a morning person.

Bet your glad you're nearly there with the front garden Gill. I don't know if I said this before but if you want to water your Hebe that dos'nt like tap water fill a can at night and by the morning all the chlorene will have evaporated out of it. I do that for my blueberries.

Had this from William.

Thank you very much Mel, we have been out to a school fete but it turned out to be too hot for even us. Now we are back home in the cool and comfort of our own place.

He's as bad as the children Mel LOL ,only he now has to be more careful with his hips ,there was a time he would have done hand stands with the children but not now .

That was nice to hear from William shame it was to hot for them .

It is really hot out there today ,we'll keep in by the fan until later and then sit out this evening .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIAM <3 <3 <3 You have a got a right scorcher today.

Love the fun in the pool pics Mandy :-D :-D No peace for Colin I see :-D. What i would give right now to be in that pool of yours.

So it was a Fox Mel. I really thought it was a Deer onlt because I know there are so many around at the moment. I had a listen on google at the difference between the Fox and Muntjac. The Fox has a much shriller bark.More of a scream !
I don't know if I said a couple of weeks ago my neighbour saw a Fox and a Munjac playing together in her garden ! She said it was quite a sight to see.

I am not feeling 100% today.A bit dizzy and bit of blurred vision in my right eye. So I got a meal in the slow cooker nice and early this morning and will only have to do the rice later.
I have the tennis on but I don't seem to even have the oomph to really get into it. We haven't seen Thomas since yesterday afternoon :-S He better turn up .

Frank a sling may well help your shoulder as it will take the weight off and give it some support. I had Cortisone injection in my shoulder just after I had Hannah. It was painful but did the trick.

Off to lie on the settee now .I bet I will not off as I cant stop yawning at the moment .

Well, OH has done REALLY well today! He's completely finished the back of the bungalow creosoted the weather boards and cleared up!! as well as his other chores, Merlin etc. It's been quite an effort but well worth it, as I think it may rain this week and then everything gets held up so. 1 feel so pleased with him, gold star!! Mind you the new scaffolding was an absolute boon, making everything so much easier even though he had to cut some of the hedge to move it along the path, it was still so light and manoeuvrable which helped a lot! We have a bit to do to the front but it's nothing like as bad as the back and can wait awhile!
Sorry you're not feeling well Jane! Hope you feel better soon. Don't bother about sending the Fox noise! It's been deciphered, so mystery solved!!
Beautiful evening so we're sitting out. Just Poldark tonight apart from that, no telly for us!!

Good morning my sweet things,

I have been awake most of the night with this shoulder. Whichever way I turned it woke me up. I finally gave up and got up 5.30 am Lovely clear morning, nd I expect it to be another HOT one.

After feeding and watering last night,I sat on the lounger with a couple of cold beers, watching the planes going into Birmingham and the swallows diving around for the insects. Nice and quiet.

Earlier, I had to SHOUT OUT. KEEP THOSE BL@@DY DOGS QUIET. I think every dog in the close decided to see who could bark the longest, and loudest. The neighbour down the bottom came to the fence to enquire who's dogs they were. He said he had to take himself, and his wife out during the afternoon, because of all the BARKING. I know dogs like to compete with each other, but this was beyond a joke.

Conrad and Jan rang last night as did LEWIS. He is flying out to Balarace (sp) with TEN OTHERS for a weeks holiday at 6.00 this morning. I told him to BE CARFUL and not to get into any trouble, which I am sure he won't. He thanked us for the money we gave him for his holiday spend, which I expect will be mainly on BOOZE.
Conrad and Jan will be bringing Ella home on the 1st August. I expect he will be coming up to pick us up for a week in Paignton.which would b nice. I am sure we won' be going to Spain in Sept. To much travelling !!!! He tries to get August off from Spain for his Holiday. lol lol.

Going o get another COT and sit outside in the cool.

Morning all,

O dear Frank not another sleepless night, poor you. I hate it when you lay there trying to get comfy and still wide awake. I get so cross with myself when it happens to me. Fortunately I have been sleeping quite well lately. I suppose now I hae said that I will have a sleepless tonight now!

Lots of white cloud in the sky here this morning but still very warm. We need a drop of rain to clear the air. The lawns are going brown and the border plants are all wilting. Everywhere looks colourless except the trees and even those are shedding a few leaves. The only place the grass is green is in the shade of the trees in the little orchard.

Morning all

It's been raining here so that's put paid to any gardening today. It's stopped now so OH might take some rubbish down the tip, although he's not really in the mood to do much today.

We did manage to put some large bamboo's in the garden yesterday, they look lovely, all three of them in a row between us and Mr Grumpy, so hopefully when they thicken out a bit we'll have a screen between us. I gave them a good watering yesterday and the rain this morning will of helped them too. The scruffy little Robin came for a noisy around. I think it must of been flying ants day yesterday there were so many around in the front. They were all along the top of the front fence and kept flying into my hair......yuk.

Thanks for your advice on tap water Mel, no you hadn't mentioned it before. I do have a watering can I leave in the greenhouse with tap water in, so I will use that to water the Hebe's in future. I used the melted ice from the freezer last time which they seemed to like, but I don't have that very often, so knowing I can use tap water that's been standing all night is a great help....thanks.

So the noise was a Fox in the end Jane.....puzzle solved. Has Thomas come home yet? I bet he'll be glad when the weather cools down, he has such a lot of fur it must be so uncomfortable for him. Hope you are feeling better today.

Love the pool photo's Mandy, it looks like everyone is having a great time. I was so hot yesterday I could of done with a nice pool to cool down in.

Good luck to your OH Liz, hope all goes well. The appointment times after today sound just right and will save you both getting up so early. It sounds like he had a busy day yesterday, at least those jobs out of the way now.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder Frank, that's the problem when you have soreness there, it makes sleeping really hard. Hope it eases for you soon.

It's hair colouring day again today, I have to rinse it off in the bath with my hair being so long, so I'd better go and run one, the colouring's been on a while and I don't want my hair to fall out if I leave it on to long.

Frank Report 16 Jul 2018 11:42

No don't go BALD Gill, I don't think it would suit you. lol lol Aren't you the LUCKY one getting some rain. We can certainly use some. I saw a neighbour cutting his BROWN LAWN yesterday. What a waste of time and energy.

I have just done a silly thing. I dug a root of potato's to see what they are like. They are small but look O.K. More than can be said for my shoulder, turning the soil over has pulled my shoulder, and it's throbbing like hell. There are jobs I want to do, but will have to leave them until I see the doctor on Thursday.

I can't spit a TANNER, Now that is an old,old saying of my dads.!!!!! I am on my 2nd bottle of water already, and I have had 4 COT, and a coffee.

Ros is ironing the bedding from yesterday, together with other bits. She's still in her nightie, so a cool as she can be under the circumstances ;-) ;-) She will get her shower when she's finished.

I started a new book this morning so I can pass the one I just finished to Tony.

Plenty of white clouds around now so it's a little cooler. So I will go out to my lounger for a read.

Jane has Rhomas arrived home yet ?? I bet he finds a nice cool spot under th hedge, and forgets the time ;-) ;-) ;-) Bless him. I know it sounds daft, but I am missing the dogs, especially LENNY. He is such a little darling. <3 <3 <3

Afternoon Everyone
It has got so muggy here now it is ridiculous. It wasn't so bad earlier even though hot.
Yes Thomas the dirty stop out turned up at about 10.15 last night. I had gone to bed after given up calling . Chris called me to say he was in so I hot footed it downstairs to check he was ok. He didn't know what all the fuss was about . I gave him a good brush and found most of the sticky burrs were under his tummy and a bit close to his 'bits' so he wasn't too happy about me doing that LOL I did as much as I could before he scrabbled out of my hands. Then he was up and wanting out again at 3am !.
He hasn't been too far today and is on his coolest place on the settee in hte study.

Frank I am sure Lewis will have a great time in wherever (Is it Barcelona?) You had a bit of a spelling problem with the place :-D

So both Mel and Gill have had some rain....what is rain????? .It has been so long since we even had a little drop. My clothes are literally sticking to me now.It will have to be another cool shower soon. Chris is under the Bay tree again on my recliner .
We had some cheese and biscuits for lunch and a bottle or 2 of wine with Fitz.(Hence Chris having a snooze :-D)
Even some people who love this heat are beginning to want a little relief now .

Congratulations to Hannah Jane, just one more year to go and that will fly by. Pleased to hear Thomas came home safe and sound I know how much you worry about him <3

No baldness here Frank even though I left the colouring on a bit to long, it looks good though. Fancy digging with a sore shoulder, you should be resting it. OH said make a list and we'll come down and do all your jobs for you. Pity we don't live closer we could then come round and help you when you needed it.
Sorry I don't know anything about Induction Hobs, have you tried Googling it?

It's absolutely pouring down here and has been on and off most of the day, the new plants in the front are going to love it, not to mention my HEBE'S. Poor OH and Sandra took some rubbish to the tip, they thought the rain had stopped, but they got caught in the biggest rain fall we've seen for months, I ran a hot bath and Sandra has jumped in it. I've asked OH to take the seat covers off the car seats, they will be wet and dirty now and will need washing, I'm not sure how I'm going to dry them though, I don't think they can go in the dryer. It's very cool here today, much better than all the heat yesterday.

It's OH's birthday tomorrow so I'm hoping it's not going to rain as we wanted to go out. Sandra and I bought him a pressure washer but with all this rain the patio will be clean in no time LOL.
