Good morning Liz and all.
Yes the sun is up and the heat is rising. Roa was late having her hair done, and has a totally different style, which I love nd it suits her. The hairdresser said it makes her look a lot YOUNGER, so she's well pleased. When she had finished she went to Tesco for some bits and pieces. I did phone her, but as always she never answered, but rang me back, and told me what she was up to.
Gill we got a refund from Tesco for the BACON, so Ros bought a different type, which I hope will be alright.
Nothing special happening here today, I might get a coat of paint on the shed, and move all the wood onto to stones at the bottom of the garden. If someone wants it, it will be easier for them to collect.
My right shoulder, hip and knee are playing up a lot more, in the last 48 hours. I am hoping when I see the doctor he will be able to put corterisone (sp) injections in all the joints to ease the discomfort. I am concerned my knee might give out on me, and I will go down in a heap. I expect it will need replacing at some time in the future.
So Jane, you all went of in CONVOY with the cars, where is the garage where the work will be done.?? I thought most garages did a collect and delivery service for repairs and servicing. Ours do. But they are only a small garage, and I expect it ensures them of getting plenty of work. Roa tends to take the car, and bring back the driver, then vice a versa when it's ready.
We both remembered we hadn't rung Harvey about 10.00 pm. Too late to ring then so will try to remember tonight.
No Choir practice until the end of August , so it will be soaps this evening while I sit on my lounger with cold beers and my book. Tony next door, comes and sits on his bench on the patio with a bottle of Red. This is after he has been to the pub. He is complaining about not being able to sleep in this heat. Both of us slept on top last night. I noticed Ros had pulled up he covers, when I got out about 5.00 am.
I have heard that Honey is good for burns, even though I have never thought of using it. !!! I tend to keep it in cold water until the stinging goes away, and if it's a bad one I cover it in a cotton badge. Hope yours is improving Jane.
I trust everything went to plan this morning Liz, What a drag thats going to be for IAN. That is what I call forward planing. 3rd of December, for his appointment ;-) ;-) ;-)
I think I will get a coffee and sit outside. Ros has a basket of ironing, that she is doing while I type.I bet she's hot. !!!!

Afternoon all,
Phew it's now much to hot to be out side so we're in in front of the fan , we have done a few jobs this morning while it was cooler , Max is sprawled out on the cool tiles in the conservatory ,he keeps going out but i call him in as he lays out in the sun !!! lots of shade out there but he lays in the sun .
Hope it all went well today for OH Liz , he might be glad of you driving him some days as his treatment progresses . I'm glad you mentioned card as it's son and DIL's wedding anniversary on Monday and i need to get a card .
Oh Jane your poor arm with all this heat and not being able to keep a dressing on ,it must be really burning when you get the sun on it , i hope it soon heals for you. The poor bride tomorrow she be wilting in her dress lets hope they have Air con to keep her cool .
So you have a new woman with Ros and her new hair style then Frank ,i bet the paint will soak in well on the new wood on the shed in all this heat ,the paint will be drying on your brush before you have a chance to paint LOL don't over do it out there it's so hot we don't want you passing out.
Not like you to go to bed early Mel, you must have been tired ,i think this heat is now making everyone tired .
We will soon look like salad it's all we've been eating ,i have tried not to have the oven on as poor Max has his crate in the kitchen and it makes it so hot in there for him even though he has his own fan in there. I read some where about wetting a towel and laying it down on the floor for them to lay on, but i carn't see that working as he would just drag it off and chew it up lol ,also freezing a bottle of water and then standing that in front of the fan to help cool the air .
Right water time ,we've lost count of the number of glasses we've drunk.

Afternoon all no-one is doing anythng here at all other than flop around trying to find the coolest places. But there are none :-S. There is a fair breeze but it is not helping.
I hope today went ok for Ian .Hopefully the weeks will fly by and the treatment will be over before you know it.
How has Ros had her hair done Frank?Has she had it cut shorter? It sounds a great success :-D
Mandy my burn doesnt feel so sore today . I had not thought of using Honey. I will keep that in mind for next time ;-) as i am sure there will be one. I still have a dressing on and then a thin bandage wrapped to keep the dressing on. I covered it all in cling film this morning when I had a shower and washed my hair. That worked quite well to my surprise.
Your dust can wait Mandy. It wont be the only house not to have been cleaned for weeks :-D It is just impossble to actually to do anything at all.I just have dinner to do later. Not looking forward to that I can tell you. Salad would be good . Chris would be happy with that but I reckon James and Gareth will be starving after a long days work. Gareth has just set off from London. He is driving so fingers crossed the roads will be ok. Hannah will be going out soon to see all the girls and Bride. They are having a meal at a place in town.
My Brain feels frazzled .I keep making so many spelling mistakes and having to put them right.
Frank the Garage where James took his car is a family run place in Trafalgar Rd. The road that goes down from the main Post Office. I don't know if they do a collect and deliver service .They may well do.I bet James didn't think to ask.
I think there has been a bit of rain in Corby nothing here though :-S Must get nearer the fan now :-D

Yes Jane ,for 2 glasses i use 2 teaspoons coffee add more if you like a strong coffee , we like Kenco Millicano mix with 2 table spoons hot water ,2 cups of milk and about a pint of ice ,i use the crushed ice ,put it all in blender and wizz up ,i like sweetners in my coffee so i melt them in a tiny bit of hot water and add them to my glass as if you add them later to the cold drink they don't dissolve . If you want to be naughty you can add some Vanilla ice cream and a squirt of cream on the top .

Phew i don't want another night like that so unbearably hot and now i can hear a few rumbles of thunder in the distance ,it would be so nice to have a little rain to cool things down but we should have high temperatures again today.
Think I'll go and make a cuppa .

Sorry you had an uncomfortable hot night Mandy. I slept like a log again. This morning it is giving the apearance that its raining but its not doing the ground any good its that light. The grass seems to have changed colour a bit so I don't know how long it has been this fine mizzle.
I have to put my entrys in tonight and its about dinner time so I am not sure what to do for dinner. May do lamb chops.

Good morning Mandy, You are an early BIRD. Good morning to you all.
Not a good night again. I was so tired I went to bed at 9.30 pm. Laid awake until Ros came in at Midnight. Got up, had a bottle of water from th fridge, and read until 2.30/ Selpt until 6.30 an and it all started in the old routine. COT opened all doors and windows, both fans going full blast, with me sitting in my u/pants, with my book.
Simon rang at 8.45 which woke Ros. He just rang to check we are alright. He had RAIN in Daventry last night. He should be so lucky. ;-) ;-) ;-)
Again we forgot to phone Harvey, I will ring him shortly on his mobile. I wonder if he would like to come for Lunch Sunday. Not that I am looking forward to standing a HOT kitchen.
We had a ham salad last night, which was quite enough for me. Tonight I might do pork chop with Rice and vegetable (from a pack.) Doesn't take long, so I won't be stuck in a hot kitchen.
Oh how lovely it was last night, watering the garden and greenhouse. Nice and cool with a little spray coming from the nozzle on the hose. :-D :-D :-D and keeping me cool.
I have bought a pen shaped "TENS" machine, you place it on the nerve/mussel that is aching and it pulsates the nerves. I tried it last night, but with no great effect. I expect you have to use it a few its to get any benefit .
How many have you got staying tonight Jane, ?? I hope the girls all get taxi's to have a dedicated driver. Is the wedding tomorrow in London. and are you and Chris invited. ???
I agree with you all. THIS is not the weather to be doing much of anything. The most I will do is sit in the shade and read.
Ros has had her hair cut a lot shorter, and looks like it's layered at he back. It really suits her, and will be easy to keep controlled.
Bit more cloud around his morning, but sill VERY HOT. !!!

Morning Mel and Mandy, morning all
Sunny and hot here today, I've been pottering around the back garden, watering and weeding and I moved a big plant over to the other side of the garden as it's starting to flower and can be seen better there.
You were up early Mandy, sorry to hear you've had a bad nights sleep, it was very hot yesterday, but hopefully it'll cool down a bit soon so you can sleep properly again. I sleep with a fan on me all night which seems to help.
It sounds like you've had a bad night too Frank. Hopefully you'll sleep better when it cools down a bit to. Hope the Tens machine starts working soon. You're probably right and you'll need to use it a bit more to have any effect. Keep going it'll be worth it in the end. Pleased to see you got your bacon sorted in the end.
So you have a bit of fine rain then Mel, I'm hoping we have a clear sky tonight as there is suppose to be a lunar eclipse and blood moon, so that should be interesting to see, but not if there are lots of clouds around. It's suppose to be the longest eclipse in the 21st century lasting just under 2 hours, plus Mars and Jupiter are suppose to be visible and also there's a chance of seeing the International Space Station.......it's all very exciting, well, if you like that sort of thing which OH Sandra and I do, so we'll be outside tonight keeping an eye out for everything.
Good luck for the wedding Jane, hope the weather isn't to bad and the bride doesn't get to hot. I think it would be a good idea to change into something cooler in the evening, but most brides like to wear their dress all day don't they? After all you only wear it once. Maybe taking a cooler dress and seeing how things go might be a good idea. I hope all goes well. I can't wait to hear all about it.......I love a good wedding. Soppy or what? LOL :-D :-D

It is just to hot to do any thing ,i have just hung another lot of washing out and got the first lot in as they are bone dry ,by the time i came in my face was running with water . I have a bite on my chin i have just put cream on as its driving me potty .
Frank i think those Tens machines are good you just have to find the right strength of pulse to ease the pain ,if you have it to high it makes you jump .
Yes make sure you get your entries in Mel we'd all love to see you win a prize.
I was reading about the moon Gill i want to have a look tonight think it's suppose to be a red colour isn't it ? I never know where to look in the sky for the space station .
Poor Max is flaked out in front of the fan on the cool tiles ,we make sure we keep him in more with this heat and definitely no going out walking out on the hot paths .

Have finished A FROST BOOK and returned it to Tony. He has given me another so I am just off to my spot on the lawn to start reading it.
Ros had a good sort out of her wardrobes (not that there is any more space) She has taken 5 bags to the Air Ambulance collection point in the pub car park. Collected the Scripts., and called in to see Carolyn. They are going to see Mama Mia tomorrow at 2.30. I will walk both ways to he pub tomorrow if I decide to go.
I spoke to Harvey. Julia and Lewis are fine. the Temp is 40 degrees out in France, and we are complaining ;-) ;-)
Gill you never seem to sit still for a second. Oh how nice is must be to be YOUNG lol lol. I can hardly remember it. !!!
I was looking at some old photo's on the Computer last night, and come across my eldest brothers wedding photo. He got married in 1945. My sister Clara was a bridesmaid and Jack was best man.My twin sister and I were dressed up to the "NINES" (where did that saying come from ??) Mum also looked well dressed, and Dad in his Navy uniform. I don't know where Bill, Ted and Mary were. ?? All three eldest married in 1945 after the war finished. I expect they thought they would see the war out first, being that all were on active service.
The cool of the shade is calling me, se you soon. xxx

Afternoon Everyone I think we could all do with some Oxygen tanks and masks. There is just no air at all. We had a thunder storm in the middle of the night about 3. Hannah said the lightening was quite something. I just heard the thunder ,but hadn't gone ot bed until 1 as Gareth and i stayed sitting outside after everyone else had goen ot bed.
Frank the Wedding is happening right now and it is at Barton Hall just down the road Full house here tonight Me,Chris,James,Gareth ,Hannah and Sarah .It is just H G and Sarah who have gone to the Wedding .If there is no rain or storm when the wedding ends at midnight they will probably walk home (or stagger LOL ).If wet then they will have to get a taxi which they can share with Polly and Simon who are staying in Grovsner Way up in Barton.I am sure I will hear them come in !!I just need to make up the bed settee in the study for Sarah. It is not very comfortable though so there is a blow up bed ready just in case . Gareth had a bit of a panic as he had forgotten his tie so I had to get all James and Chris's out for him to go through to find a suitable one that went with his Jacket. Men eh!!!!!.
I hope the Tens helps Frank. They are supposed to be good . Maybe it is just a matter of getting the right setting and making sure it is the right place.
Mel I love the Tablet Box. it is brilliant. It sits on the worktop in the kitchen . It is a really good design. Great little pressie thank you :-D :-D
Gareth has already sent me 2 pics ! It looks like little fans have been to all the guests :-D They will need them for sure. I gave one of my big fans to Hannah to take and it just fit in her big clutch bag.Gareth asked if we had a little pack of tissues he could take as he is a bit of a weepy soul at these occasions :-D I then had a call from Hannah to ask if we had any Blister plasters !! Honestly what would they do with out MUM :-D :-D First pick of Runner Beans this morning :-D :-D I was so excited :-D
I think I need to go and stick my head in the fridge .It is getting ridiculous now. Chris is going to go for a sleep in a minute as he didnt sleep well last night. Poor Max is feeling it then Mandy :-(. When I dropped them off at the wedding I popped in our little Sainsburys and there was a lady in her car with 4 dogs !!!!All panting their heads off and tongues hanging out :-S She was waiting for someone to come out from the shop. She saw me look and gave a bit of a sheepish grin. Why could they not have just left the dogs at home.!!

Well that did'nt last long..........................................It is a lot cooler out there though today with the cloudy sky which is a nice change. I did some digging out of that terrible weed this morning so I am getting there but the ground is like concrete so using my two pronged fork oh made me when I broke a tine on my border fork years ago. Its a god send for all sorts of things and very easy to dig with between plants in the border when I do get up there.
Fancy taking dogs out in a car in this weather. People should have more sense unless they were going on holiday taking the dogs with them. At least they did'nt leave them unattended.

Oh Mel it is so bad here I have a couple of sheets of kitchen paper with me to mop up all the sweat that is dripping off my face :-SI have not known it this bad for years. I am ok sat here in front of the fan but the minute I get up to start doing something it just pours off me. I would like to think I might have lost a bit of weight :-D.It would be intersting though just to see how much sweat is lost..I think I have lost count of the litres of water I have had today and hardly any visits to the loo . I can hear Chris up now .He has just had another shower. As for saving water its not that easy at the moment . Showers are a must. There are some dodgy looking clouds building up at the moment.!!
