O dear Mandy I do hope it dos'nt last too long. It may be the dry weather with all the dust around. Take some lemon and honey and a couple of paracetamol that should help for a while.
We still have sunshine and blue sky with a lot of white clouds in it but it is still hot.
I keep dusting everywhere but its still the same next day.
Must get back to cleaning the bathroom which I started before lunch.

Afternoon All Muggy Muggy :-S. So bad that we actually both nodded off this afternoon ! One of the fans has given up today Not the best timing :-S. I will see tomorrow about getting another smallish one tomorrow if there are any in stock anywhere. I did have a quick look on line at Argos and there are lots out of stock now :-S.They did have a few in Tesco on stands with 18inch fan but I dont want one that big. We have been expecting the Wasp Man to come today do deal with the nest in the guttering(well that is where they are going but then are going under a tile by the lead flashing. The chap was going to be here this morning but rang to say he was well behind and would be here for 4-4.30 but still no sign of him.
He's here :-D.. I have just made him a cold drink with lots of ice as he looked a bit hot. so far today he had had 7 lots of wasps nests (one as big as a space hopper in a loft !! ) Ants and Rats he has had to deal with too today. He has just got his space suit on.
Mandy i did wince when you said your throat felt like there was a razor blade in it !!. Hopefully it is not going to linger. I am sure this weather can't help. We must be breathing in so much dry dust etc at the moment.Dose yourself up tonight and maybe have a glass of icecubes ot suck (if they don't melt too quickly)
The man has finished . That took about 3 minutes. £85 plus VAT . Fingers crossed in an hours time we might be able to open our windows again. Not that there is any air to come in. Frank, that was a great amount raised for the choir . What will the £600 go towards? At least you managed to stay for the first half and then slope off to the Pub LOL . I expect there will just be one Doctor at your surgery to do Cortisone Injections.Hope you can get an appointment with him.
It's looking a little bit dare I say it (stormy) . The wasp man said it had been raining in Market Harborough . I want to get Thomas in just in case the weather turns. He as usual has been gone since 4am :-S James is off to Jess tonight but taking Chris's car as his Cam belt is not good. His car is going in next thursday to have it replaced but he didn't fancy the long journey to Kent and back in his car at the moment just in case the belt goes.
Ready meals tonight. I will be able to do our own Green Beans too :-D as I picked the first lot this afternoon. They look good :-D Its a bit dark here now and there are a lot of Fairies blowing around (the dandelion fairies ). Big flocks of Pigeons too . Maybe they know something I don't .The atmosphere almost feels a bit spooky.

So you went to the pub after the first half of the choir Frank, do you still have the dogs come to you for their treats?
Sorry to hear you're under the weather Mandy with a sore throat, it's probably the dusty air, OH and I have felt a bit throaty on and off with doing the front garden but it soon goes. Drink plenty I found that helps. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Have all the wasps gone now Jane? It'll be nice for you to open your window again, it sounds very hot by you. We've had rain on and off all day and it's a lot cooler than it's been for a while, much better for OH with him doing his digging and definitely much better for me as I'm not keen on the hot weather. Did you get your storm in the end?

The Wasps seem to have gone to sleep Gill :-D :-D We had a bit of thunder and a fair bit of rain for 10 minutes or so.But not a storm. It was quite refreshing standing out there and getting wet :-D Thomas still hasn't appeared :-( I have just been an opened windows again and it does feel a little bit fresher for now :-D which is such a relief . Still have to have the big fan on though.

Its good the wasp man came in the end Jane so now you can open your windows. Watch out though as some of the wasps may not have been in the nest.

Good morning all,
Oh what a beautiful morning !!! NICE AND COOL. when we went to get F & C, it started to rain on the way home By the time we pulled into the drive it was torrential rain, we got soaked getting into home. It rained here for at least 3 hours, and gave everywhere a good soaking. I must do the greenhouse this morning.
I bet the windows with b nice and shiny Mel, There will be no stopping you now. lol lol
Why is it as soon as w get a HOT SPELL the Bl@@dy wasps see to come ou in their droves ?? Good job the chap got rid of them. Was he from the council??
Hows the throat this morning Mandy ?? (I didn't know you used to swallow razor blade s :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D Joking apart, these throats are no joke. Hope you are O.K. this morning. Has the OH got rid of all his excess tools. ??
Forgot to mention Simon has a hot TAP that produces building water. There in a unkinder the sink that boils the water and keeps it hot. So they don't have a kettle. I have seen them advertised on Tele, but didn't know anyone who had one.
Ros is still in the land of NOD. I was awake and up by 6.30. I am on my third COT.
Martine rang yesterday to say she would't be going shopping today, as they were off to the Caravan. I expect this will be regular till the end of the season
Still having trouble with my "E" and "T" so if I am missing any, SORRY.

Morning all
A bit dull here this morning and it look like more rain is on the way. Even though we've had rain it's not been very heavy so we're still having to water the plants, we're making the most of it before the ban comes into force. OH is digging again, he's hoping to have it finished this weekend, there's not much left to do now but we only have so many bags to put the rubbish in to so he has to keep stopping to take the rubbish down the tip which is what's taking the time. I did well on my family tree yesterday and only have 21 more families to copy over. With a bit of luck they'll be finished by the weekend then OH and I can go plant shopping on Monday, well soil shopping first ;-) ;-)
Pleased to see the wasps have gone to sleep Jane lets hope that's the end to it now apart from a few like Mel said that weren't in the nest but I'm sure they'll soon disappear now the others are dead. So you've had some rain, I noticed it freshened the air up a bit and cooled everywhere down, I bet it felt nice standing outside in it. Hope Thomas returns soon, I know how much you worry about him. I'm sure he's not gone far and will be back when he's ready.
I've seen those taps Frank, I can't say I like them myself I think they could be dangerous especially with children around. So Ros is having a lie in, she hasn't stopped lately so probably needs the rest, pity you didn't have a lie in too.
Nice clean windows now then Mel? Like Frank said there'll be no stopping you now.
F1 on later so I'm splitting my time before then doing my family tree and sorting out the washing. OH is outside and Sandra is still asleep so another quiet day for me by the looks of it.

Morning Frank and all,
We had some light rain last night, it started Just as it started to get dark and I was shutting the chickens in and it rained all evening. Today it is cloudy and raining again but once again only lightly which is good for the ground as it dos'nt run off but slowly soaks in. If we get a downpour it just stays on the surface.
Egg delivery day today and the shop for the paper and I must remember to get the steaks out of the freezer for tonight. Its rib eye tonight with mushrooms, new pots, onions and asparagus.

Where has the morning gone, All I have done is shower and shave, tied up the tomato plants , and i's almost mid-day. I might go for a GARGLE at the pub later.
Roa went off earlier to get some bits from Tesco. I expect her back anytime soon.
The clouds see to be going away, and the sun is breaking through. The one good thing is, it's not quite as HUMID as yesterday, YET !!!
Gill, Ros is a late person like Mel, when I go to bed she turns over the TV to her Jewellery programmes, and might sit and watch them making different things. We are forever getting parcels coming through the letter box with GEMS from her programs. She has more necklaces than you can SHAKE a stick at. She must have sixty or seventy, but still buys more materials, for making more. I must admit she does make some and gives them for presents Our conservatory is her store room. There are trays of beads, wire and threads, that's without all her sewing stuff, and materials. ;-) ;-) ;-) She loves doing it, so no problem for me.
I feel so tired, and my neck and shoulder is being an absolute Bu@@er, I never seem to be out of pain. I have various creams that I rub in, I am sure they do nothing to help it :-( :-( :-(
The SUN IS OUT NOW, so I expect it to get hotter this afternoon.

It sounds like fun for Ros making all those necklaces Frank, maybe she could sell some at a craft fair if she enjoys making them, people love things like that, especially around Christmas time. Sorry to hear you're sill in pain. If it's not to hot maybe you could try a hot water bottle, the warmth might help to relax you. When you read your book do you rest your arms on anything, if you don't maybe holding them up is making the pain worse. I hope it eases soon. Enjoy your gargle at the pub later LOL.
We have that fine drizzle of rain like Mel, although it doesn't do much for our ground in the front as we've just put in about 2 foot of soil so we'd need a good downpour for quite some time to soak all that. OH waters it every night with the hosepipe but won't be able to do that in two weeks time. I think OH is enjoying the cooler weather with having all this digging to do, so he's happier. He was starting to get a bit grumpy in the hot weather.
I'm almost finished copying over all the information to my family tree, I'm on family number 154 out of 165 so with a bit of luck it'll be finished over the weekend, ready for me to go back in the garden for the planting....well, providing OH has finished the digging that is ;-)

Afternoon All Oh my Lord I'm so hot. I have just got in from town. Tooks trousers back to M&S,then Dunelm to get a couple of sheets and see it they had any fans . No Fans, so it was Wickes next and no Fans there. But someone told me that had seen a couple of fans in Poundstretcher just along the way so I hot footed it there and got one :-D :-D :-D Chris is now putting it together. there were only 2 left so i was very lucky.
Frank I have not heard of those kind of taps that Simon has.It sounds a good idea but like Gill I am not sure I would want one. Crikey Ros could set up shop with all her necklaces !!!!! I am sorry you are in so much pain. Are you like me and find the hot weather makes things worse?
The Wasp Man was not from the council .As it was Friday I knew they wouldn't be sending any one out so we looked up this one on line. Job done which is the main thing and there dont seem to be any wasps there now :-D Thomas finally turned up at 10pm and looked like a drowned rat !!!. I have never seen him look so bad LOL he was also covered from head to toe and tail in sticky burrs. It took me forever to try and brush them out and it was made more difficult because of his wet fur. I did the best I could and got most . But he wouldn't let me get to his tummy. James didn't leave here to go to Jess until 10.30 !I made him promise to message me when he got there which for once he did and that was at quarter to one.
I am just beginning to cool off now.I have one fan blowing down the back of me and the new one is up and runnng and is cooling my feet :-D I hope Mandy is not feeling worse today and that her throat has no more razor blades in.

Well our little shower of rain did'nt last long this morning and then the sun came out. We have a bench like yours Jane on the decking by the pond and there is a soak tray underneath it but there is only a tiny amount of water in it so although it rained lightly for 4 hours last night it dos'nt seem to have done any good at all.
The chickens run is still like a dry river bed with many cracks.
I keep getting big blow flies in here today so I shall have to shut all the windows which is a pest as there is a little breeze every now and then.
Sorry your shoulder is still sore Frank. I hope you can get some relief soon. Oh had an injection in his shoulder a couple of years ago. Its the one he injured coming out of a Woolworths in a nasty blaze and he hit it on one of those bits that stick out on the tills.
I too hope Mandy's throat is better today. Sending love to you both. <3

Mel I think we need days of rain really for it to make any difference but that isn't going ot happen anytime soon. I see that the whole of next week is still going ot be 28 /29 !! Next friday is Hannah's friends wedding here and it is forecast 29 that day ! I shall have a houseful from Thursday right through the weekend as I will have H&G , James and Hannah's friend Sarah who is coming over from Spain for the Wedding.
Blow Flys are around a lot here too Mel.Horrible things. Any wet food of Thomas left in the dish is soon covered in little white eggs :-So . I now I am just leaving dried food down during the day.
I am thinking of moving out and just letting these blasted spiders move in LOL well they are already in.I just can't keep up with them. We are both in doors and Thomas too with all the curtains drawn and fans on full. Its just too hot to be outside for more than a few minutes. We should all be having a Siesta like the hot countries .A couple of hours sleep in the afternoon and then get cracking again early evening.

Afternoon all,
My throat is about the same ,i nipped into Tesco's and asked at the pharmacy if there was any thing that would help and she gave me a spray ,it is funny tasting stuff but does numb the throat for a while it is antibacterial too so i hope it will help.
No rain here just lovely sun shine although on saying that it has now clouded over a bit , the family will be here later for their swim . Tomorrow is Carnival day ,all the floats parade through the town and this year Chelsea and Katie will be walking with the school so i hope i can get a photo of them ,they are number 14 out of the 30 floats in the parade . Only two days left for them at school they finish next Tuesday so i expect they will be here a lot to have a swim ,little Lacey is now starting to swim with a float so hopefully by the end of the holiday she will be swimming like the others
Sorry to hear your still in pain from your shoulder Frank , i wondered if it might be that with sitting out in your chair your holding your book a different way ,perhaps not supporting your arm as you usually do when you read . I know some times i tend to sit with the lap top on my knee and i bring my left leg up so i'm on my tip toe and it starts to really ache .
Thats a good job done with the wasps Jane there are so many of them about this year ,i stocked up with sting cream just in case the children get stung while they are here . I wondered if we should have another fan as our old one is clicking on the peg bit on the top the bit you pull up to stop it from turning from side to side .
Oh Colin wants a cuppa better get the kettle on BBL

Rained a bit here yesterday but nothing to speak of and none today! We've had lovely sunshine too Mandy and apart from gong out this morning to buy OH some shoes we've spent the day in the garden soaking it up! Quite a bit of cloud on and off this afternoon but mostly sun which although is just the ticket, does make us even too lazy to read! Lots of flies too but no blow flies. All the windows have been treated with fly pen which is fairly effective, apart from that we both have fly swats which work well too!! We haven't got any fans! Open doors and windows are enough to keep the bungalow cool enough. OH has made a cuppa!! Hope the family enjoy their swim Mandy!!!

Sorry to hear your throat isn't any better Mandy, hope the spray helps. How nice for Chelsea and Katie to be involved in Carnival day. Are they dressing up in anything? I'd like to see the pictures if you take some please.
It sounds like you're going to have a house full soon Jane. Pleased to see Thomas is back safe and sound. You were lucky to find a fan, you'll be nice and cool again now.
How's your shoulder Frank, any easier?
Well, I've finally finished copying everything over onto my family tree. It took almost 3 months on and off with there being so much of it. I'm off for a soak in the bath now. I'm recording the F1 so I'll watch it with OH when he's finished in the garden.

Not quite so hot today but still too much for me. I have been catching up on the house work for the last couple of days. We haven't had any blow flies or the tiny spiders and at the moment the wasps are few and far between thank goodness as Ruby does like to chase them. We do have a lot of bees which is nice to see but not so many butterflies..
We did have some rain in the night but no where near enough so will be watering again later. Richard said he heard it and he sleeps with his window closed, mine were open but I had the fan going.
Toby is still keeping a low profile, tonight when I put the food out in the kitchen I am going to adjust the cat flap so they can get in but not out, it won't worry Shadow as she stays in usually until I get up. Should have thought of this before as it is the obvious thing to do
Sorry to hear you still have a sore throat Mandy and hope the spray helps it go. Also Frank and your painful shoulder unfortunately these things do seem to hang on being so hot doesn't help, I still get the odd twinge around my ribs from when I fell over a while back.
Pleased that you managed to get a fan Jane they do help a little, there are two going in the sitting room and a couple in the kitchen diner we have had them all quite a while
Gill that must feel rewarding adding more to your family you have been working hard on it, I've got to a point with Mine & Peters where there are so many brick walls but I did find it very addictive when I first started just after I retired for the first time.
Just going to get tea we had salad earlier so it will only be filled rolls now.

You have done well with the family tree Gill :-D I have not been on Ancestry for ages now . Mandy lets hope that spray helps your throat and you won't need to get a Dr appointment . The girls will love being part of the Carnival tomorrow. 30 floats is amazing!!! It is going to be quite a 'do' They wil be so excited. Hopefully plenty of water for everyone as it is going to be yet another very hot day.
Liz what is Fly Pen? We would find it very difficult here without some fans .So many south facing windows .It is just stifling :-S No doubt are Electric Smart Meter is showing high levels of electric use right now . Maybe nearly off the clock LOL .I don't care as long as the fans do the job :-D

They are like thick felt tip pens but filled with fly killer. You draw with them down the sides of the windows, or wherever, the flies settle on the treated bit and bingo, they die!! One lasts for ages but we get them from the local hardware shop. Brilliant for thunder bugs in particular, we've killed literally thousands this year! Wasps all sorts!! It's cloudy here and quite cool, but no rain, so we'll have to water, boo!!

Family gone now and we've just watered ,i can see one tiny little runner bean about half an inch long :-D
Yes DIL said she was giving the girls a bottle of water to take with them ,they are dressing up as Emoji's ,they have made their costumes at school ,painted them bright yellow so i don't think we'll miss them :-D There were quite a few floats last year when we watched ,but last year it poured with rain but eased up by the time the floats came through ,i think his year we might need the umbrellas for some shade !!
I bought one of those fly pens last year when Liz said about them they are good and work very well ,we've been lucky this year and haven't had so many flies in but i think it might be the new streamer curtain i have up at the back door ,it has some sparkly bits on the streamers and the seem to keep away from it ,they don't like the shine from it .
We have just had a nice lolly ,oh it went done a treat .
