I dont like Ancestry being public. I told a distant relation ( our grandfathers were brothers) my aunts exact date of death as its my birthday. Now there are 3 trees on there with this info and I am not one of them.

Good song that dea I stole the single off my mum almost 30 years ago 20 years later she found out I had that plus a couple of others and wanted them back

Royal wedding guests !!!!!!!!!!

Just heard - Members of other Royal families etc. etc. (I didn't hear the rest!! - AND 'soldiers injured in Afghanistan' !!

WHAT is that all about !!

NOT that they don't deserve recognition, BUT - where do they fit in with all these 'dignitaries' ??

What will they feel like (Out of place, I think), !

What will it cost them to find something suitable to wear?? How much will it cost them to travel ??

I do not think for one moment that they are inferior as 'people', - It may be that these invitations were offered with the best of intentions but I feel that there has not been enough thought put into it !!

In my opinion, we are all equal - i have brought my son up to believe that he is better than no-one and no-one is better than him, unless they have done or achieved something to prove that is so.

He speaks on the same level to Managing Directors at his workplace as he speaks to 'Office Juniors' (Often getting him into trouble when he was younger , I am afraid!)

Anyway, - I have the upmost respect and sympathy for soldiers injured in Afghanistan, and their families, but I don't see how they fit into this, other than for 'political' reasons.

From my sister -- the Gardener on ""Lemon Tree"

#
Don't know for sure but in my books this looks like a Fothergilla - its a deciduous upright shrub with glossy dark green leaves, that turn red, orange and yellow in autum. it has tufts of fragrant white bottle brush likeflowers that appear in spring - height 3-10ft depending on the variety

#
Meant to also say that leaves are slightly bluish-white underneath - which these look like they have - any help?

Send that thunder and lightning this way Dea....I love a good storm.

Haven't seen the bit about the soldiers attending the royal wedding but I think it is a lovely idea personally. They could well be colleagues of William's or from his regiment. I would rather them go than a lot of aristocracy who have a 'name'. It will be an absolute privilege for them and something they will remember all their live and pass on to their grandchildren.

No Gins, don't agree ..... sorry, but I have a great admiration for HM, Prince Philip and Princess Anne. Not that keen on the rest but I think William is brilliant and will make a superb King.

It did not grow from a LEMON PIP.....
The lemon pip did not germinate but rotted away and that seed happened to blow in there and germinate instead..!

I expect a birdie poohed it in passing

Dea -- in "winter" here when the overnight temps are 40 50 deg -- young lemon trees are wrapped in fleece -- as are Avocados and for that matter oranges --

Coz they dont like the cold

Do you really believe the lemon shoot could have stood 17 deg below freezing

Coz ifthey can .. why on earth arnt all Fannys farming family growing them they would make more money than their Lambs and blooming easier too -- just stick in a few old lemon pips and have a 4 ft tree following spring

Dea

Dea Report 23 Apr 2011 21:15

I know what you are saying Renes but I can't get beyond the fact that it grew from a lemon pip !!!

I will see how it goes over the next few years and keep you updated !!!

Dea

When you repot as you should be doing now --or should have done - in to fresh compost -- with a 4ft growth -- it must now be starving in that pot

look for the rotted pips they will be there

and in any case the lemon pips should have been started in a 2ins pots in the the greenhouse or or in a warm room
