Dont you hate it when someone out of the blue comes onto a thread and states a fact which could not be true and bu&&ers orf

I had one the other night who did that and it was incorrect and the poster then got confused...because it was said "This is who she married" rather than "she may have married xyz"

I know Ja...x,thats one of the reasons I dont do much "helping"nowadays,,,Some helpers do not check things out at all before posting...And then they get upset when you point out how WRONG the info is.

And I hate having my water muddied...

It also annoys me if I have started on something and posted my first bit of facts and someone else comes along and posts the next bit after seeing mine....

What???You think I wasnt getting to that bit as well....???
No...I kept getting too peed orf...So thought I would take a break for a while...

jax Report 22 Apr 2011 16:54

I'm like that too Fans especially in the middle of the night when you are gayly asking questions so you give the right answers...then someone comes in from out of the blue and posts seconds before you with what you have spent ages worming info out of the poster to find it for them.... aghhh.

This marriage could be correct.....but dont say "This is who she married" without following it through

Anyone want help please come to my office on FB please lol

Do I have to friend somebody on FB to have any friends at all now?

But I need a friend ...

I'm trying to get work done before I leave tomorrow. But I got distracted by a message at Ancestry (from a descendant of an actual Irish Monck in London line I'd researched intensively way back and posted notes about at Ancestry, even though they turned out not to be mine), and then answering a message from a new rellie in my Wiltshire Barnard line whom I'd neglected ... which spurred me into some more procrastination.

My grx3 grfather Barnard thread:

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/boards.page/board/trying_to_find/barnard/thread/1143274

He married Frances Collins in 1814 in Bristol (as Bernard), had my grx3 grparent in 1819, then married in Scotland in 1839, I know not why (he died in a workhouse in Wiltshire in 1869). What happened to first wife, and who was she, other than her name?

Well duh. I just decided to try deaths at ScotlandsPeople. And sure enough, I find that a Frances Bernard died in Scotland in 1824 (narrowed to that year by twiddling my search parametres).

Anybody got any SP credits they really don't want??

It would mean looking at the actual record. (And of course saving a copy so you can email it to me!) If there's mention of a husband Richard, if her other surname were Collins ... that would be my grx3 grandmother, and it might even say her parents' names or something!

I'd owe you forever. I have a few expired credits at SP and no functioning credit card to add to them ...

Ohhh Cynths - was this something I didn't know about this morning ??

I thought it was the 'Good Friday thing' at your church but it seems it might have been something more 'personal' to you.

Sorry if I 'made light of it' this morning.
