I did do a message to you Grace re your little girl.... honest... but I got the order of the boot and got kicked into touch.

Now that I am back into the scrum... I do hope she improves quickly. Children are a worry when they get sick, you wonder when it is going to stop. I know mine hated that electrolyte solution that they had to have to get them back on an even keel. You feel so helpless plus I had the added irritation of my mother giving outdated and nonsensical advice.

JC, I beat you to it and sent GR an email already....lets hope they read it

You know if it is one or two people doing all this reporting then they should be banned from the site

Lets hope GR can see the wood for the trees

Grace....I can relate to your little girl not enjoying making a mess, my no 2 son was just the same, he didnt seem to bothered about being sick...just the mess!

Hope she is back to fighting fit today, bless

Hi Grace, glad to hear your daughter is feeling better bless her. It's a horrible thing for them to cope with - and for you too!

Have just got this vision of Sylvs in 'frilly sequinned bits' - she only wears that when she's going dancing didn't you know??? ;-)

Thanks for brekkie Sylvs.....much appreciated. We'll let Dea have a lie in this morning cos she had such an exciting time yesterday.

Good morning all,

Yes, Cynthia, I did have a lie-in this morning after my busy day yesterday but also, my internet connection has been down so I have only just been able to get on here. Hope there is some breakfast left as I am starving !!!

Yesterday was good, although a few 'hitches' - It should have taken us about an hour to drive there and after 55 minutes we were, indeed, only 5 minutes away, then, we hit MAJOR roadworks and it took us another hour to travel the last couple of miles and to arrive at the Museum.

It was an interesting place with lots to see and we didn't see half of it but I think grand-daughter was a bit 'over-awed' at first and she didn't want to go inside the small houses etc. because they were full of other people but she got over that in the end and enjoyed seeing into them.

I kept pointing out all the things that I remembered as a girl like the old fashioned washing tub, washboard and mangle etc. and explaining how they worked. She was fascinated by the old style pottery hot water bottle which you filled with hot water and put the cork into, which I also had (tee hee).

She won a prize on the 'hook a duck' in the old style fairground and just 'had' to have another go to win another prize to take home for her little brother.

She loved riding on the old-fashioned tram and watching other children playing in the cobbled streets with the old whip and tops, metal hoops and skipping ropes, though she didn't want to have a go herself.

Anyway, all in all, a lovely day and I managed to walk around all the time without resorting to inhalers etc. so I was quite pleased with myself.

I must say though, I was a little disappointed that it was not better organised with the people in costume who had been mentioned. Apart from the old-fashioned policeman who was around and interacted with people you just caught the odd glimpse of one or two others in costume but they were not doing anything.

I remember going to one of these places in either America or Canada and that was wonderful in this respect. They had groups of them going from place to place acting out scenes and little plays - Now that is how it should be done.

Grand-daughter enjoyed it though and would like to go back again so it was all worthwhile.

I was shattered when I got home - little feet throbbing - We both went to bed fairly early and quickly fell into a deep sleep only to be woken with a start at about 10.30 by someone ringing us. We have 3 telephones in the house so they were all going. Needless to say, we ignored them and when they finally stopped we fell back into a 'coma' very quickly.

SO pleased that I don’t have to do too much today, I think I need a ‘day of rest’ !

Now I have bored you all to death with my exploits, I will have a look around the boards and see if I can find someone else to ‘pester’.

See you later.

P.S. - I hope your little girl is feeling much better now Grace!

I'm logged in on .co.uk at the moment Fans, perhaps I will be logged out again soon

Sounds like you have had a wonderful day Dea inspite of the traffic jam. It was a pity that more wasn't make of the people in costumes.

Just in case you don't hunt out any leftovers, here's a bacon butty to put you on, there is a choice of ketchup or brown sauce.

Hope your little girl is feeling better Grace

Glad you had a good day Dea

I had trouble yesterday with maintenance could get on ok then after a while got maintenance messages on most boards. Shut down laptop and started again...then got it again but when you can only look and post on three boards Living Rellies, Games and Quizzes and Genealogy Chat at 3 in the morning it gets a bit boring

Shut it down again and it was ok...hope it stays that way today.

As there has been nowt to do on here been looking through Anc*stry FB page...why has Dilly Dally unblocked me again? does she not know her posts annoy me :-D but it sounds like her little part of L'pool has spanish weather...Olive and Lemon groves in her garden :-D

Hello. Have I missed some excitement?

I have just got back from a long hard session of physio.
I am definitely making progress.
She said to me it was unlikely I would ever get full movement back.
It seems to have stretched each time.Well I am jolly well going to do the best I can.
It has been a heavy few days at work. I am shattered now but I still keep waking up at 5am.

Cynthia I have had a contact with a descendant of Eliza Parris, sister of your Harriet and James the murderer.
Quite a surprise for him.

Hi LK, - Good to see you!

I am so pleased you are making such good progress - it has been a long hard 'slog' for you but you seem to be 'getting there' at long last.

Keep up the good work!

Maybe you are waking up at that time because it is light then? - Have you thought about some 'black-out' blinds? - They may help?

Dea x

P.S. - I just 'have' to add this too and I am sorry if it offends anyone's sensitivity but 'May a 'curse' be on the person who did this to you in the first place' !!!

Re the recent unpleasantnesses ...

I have had another reply in my continuing conversation with a member of staff ... it would be inappropriate to report the content of that one, so I will just say that I am completely satisfied with the outcomes and the information provided (this being a new phenomenon in these conversations over the years).

I shall now exhale. ;-)

I think it has more to do with a need to get up and go Dea.
I am taking the water tablets in the morning so not those. I still cannot get closed boots or shoes on.

And Dea I do not even think about him now. He will get his reward. I am concentrating on me.

About two dozen of my posts ... well, I exaggerate slightly ... were reported yesterday, along with Ginny's OP here. When someone expressed disbelief that one of my posts had been reported, someone else suggested that I'd be reported for breathing. (See, even the paranoid do have enemies, and even normal folks can see that!)

All were reinstated, as was Ginny's, and I'm a happy camper all round these days.
