Still no rain here....a few spasmodic drops this morning but its just bright and blustery at the moment. Waiting for son and family to arrive to see OH on Father's Day........ah......hope he wakes up before they get here ;)

I've just had a pm rom someone to whom I sent one of my messages. She tells me that she'd received an email from GR to tell her that her post had been RR'd because she'd put too much info. She guesses she should have read the small print first!! I think her post has been reinstated now.

No it wasn't that one....but I know who you mean. I did contact that person yesterday as they were struggling. I hope she comes back to acknowledge your work.


The other one was something to do with the 1940's.

I posted about it a few days ago Ginny

It is said to be London's oldest carrnival with roots going back to pagan times. It was originally a boozy lewd afair with a paradeand a reputation. I posted a quote from Daniel Defoe.

These days it is a happy family occasion with Irish dancing, music and stalls etc.We had a stall promoting eyehealth and gave out stickers, balloons and eyeball choclatesgrand daughter had lots of fun.

We had a few showers but it was quite windy so I spent a fair amount of time chasing after things. At one point the gazebo blew over as we were taking it down. I automatically tried to catch it with my bad arm but could not hold it. It is throbbing somewhat now.

This all took place next door tp where my 4x great grandparents were married.
