Hi all, hope you had a lovely weekend!

Took my daughter flower girl dres shopping and the bride found her a gorgeous dress in a shop that was closing down, so it was next to nothing to buy and both the girls looked beautiful and raced around the shop and wouldn't take them off!

Had a birthday afternoon tea yesterday, I think about the tenth in a row on the weekends, am looking forward to a nice quiet one where I don't have to go anywhere!

Nothing done on my tree, I was very happy to see so many hot matches for a change, but I can't open any so I guess I'll have to wait for that issue to be resolved.

Anyone have any remedies for an aching throat (if that makes sense)..not dry just sore when I swallow etc...

Persephone Report 20 Jun 2011 03:27

Can you buy Betadine... it is in a bottle and you gargle it. It has worked for me... I gave some to a friend and she could hardly gargle for laughing as her three dogs could not make out what she was trying to do. I know you can buy Betadine ointment in OZ (himself cut his hand) so assume you could get the gargle there.

Persepharmacistone.

Thanks Persie I am willing to try gargling anything!

lots of people in the office seem to have all come down with this throat cold thing, I think we must all be a bit run down.

I can visualise the dogs looking at your friend!

Good morning all.

I'll have a go at breakfast then........

Cereals.......assorted (please leave a note of any which are running out)

Bacon - underdone or crisped

Eggs - scrambled to leather or hard boiled to cricket ball standard

Fried bread - greasy or patchy

Tomatoes - burnt for you-know-who

Mushrooms - well, I think they are mushrooms - I picked them myself.

Offal tubes - otherwise known as sausages

Toast - brown, white, black.

Ciggies - on doorstep.

Now, if that doesn't put you off wanting me to do breakfast....nothing else will!

Come back Sylvs...all is forgiven!

Grace, meant to say, loved the image of your little girl running round the shop in her pretty dress.

I always wanted to be a bridesmaid but, sob, we moved around, sob, too much, sob and I got married young sob, and moved 'down south'........wail.

I'm up for grabs now though - for being a bridesmaid that is :-P

Hope your throat is better soon. Never heard of Betadine.......sounds like a posh cafe!

TCP is what is used over here.....and you would definitely want to spit it out!

Dea

Dea Report 20 Jun 2011 08:27

Well, thank you Cynthia (I think)? :-S

I am sure I will find 'something' to nibble at in there...........

I couldn't be bothered this morning - I cooked a lovely breakfast yesterday and everyone wen't round to Ginn's 'Greasy Spoon' instead!

I had to eat it ALL myself

There was an awful lot of Lunch left over too - I don't know why I bothered!

Best thing for that throat Grace is to gargle with 'soluble aspirin' - guaranteed to help.

I bet your little girl had a lovely time and looked beautiful in her pretty dress.

You cannot get TCP here anymore, I chose Betadine because it works a lot better than burnt tomatoes... A person I worked with suggested it. I am hopeless at gargling, I become a dribbling mess.

Used to give the kids soluble asprin when they were little, we would put raspberry flavouring in it and call it a fairy drink.

Thanks for the breakfast Cyns.... will wrap up a takeaway for Ginny.

Patchy bread?

Persie

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 20 Jun 2011 09:03

Just give her the ciggies Persie - that should see her through!

Not patchy......black on one side, white on the other. Brown is probably an error.

Dribbling mess eh? Reminds me, wonder how Fans is getting on??

Any leftovers from yestedays breakfast. I had to rush off in a hurry and today's just does not quite do the same thing for me?

Persephone

Persephone Report 20 Jun 2011 09:16

I wonder if she took her lamp post with her?

R... sniffing window cleaner of any sort is likely to have me reaching for my ventolin. Too cold to go streaking around Cyn's place... You can't see the windows at the moment, all the smoke from the breakfast cooking has reduced us to gas masks. ;-) and poor Grace with her sore throat.

I think the littlies are lovely at that age in their dainty little dresses. My friends little girl (3) ... nearly everytime we meet up for coffee she has on a her fairy princess dress.. It has a huge hem so should outlast her obsession.

No - sorry LK - I ate all the breakfast myself but there is plenty left from lunch!

I could thinly slice some of that Roast Beef, heat it up and do you a hot sliced beef sandwich on lovely freshly baked bread with a few onion rings on the side? (I know you like them)
