Hi everyone....v. late today but have been busy.

Certainly hot and almost close enough for a storm.....hope so. I love storms.

Have been busy helping at a Strawberry Tea at our church sports pavilion. It's a popular community venue with state of the art equipment.

It was lovely to see people enjoying themselves and it was fun in the kitchen too as several of us worked together providing the refreshments. We were bopping along to the music as we worked.

Mind you, I was glad to get home and put my feet up........

Hi Cynths,

I love storms too - I used to be frightened of them but when my son was very youg, he was frightened so I used to sit with him at the windowmand watch the lightening and hear the thunder and get him all excited about it all!

Since then, I really enjoy them myself !!

The very best ones are to be seen coming into Madrid from the north - the TV reports in the morning how many strikes of lightening come in per minute !!!!!! - There are LOTS !!!!

Ohh b#####er !!

I just remembered ! - I spent ages last night making my son his special 'canadian cookies' which he loves !!!

He has always been 'strange' with food (he was born anorexic so we have always struggled with him.

Thinking about 'puds' after the barbacue - we had fresh strawberries and raspberries etc - I made a batch of his 'canadian cookies' for him.

I have just remembered them - 4 hours after they have all gone home !!!

B####er!

You are welcome Cynths but I am just SO sad that I didn't give them to him today !!

I had another box full for him to take home too !

Never mind, I will see them on Tuesday so I will give them to him then !!

Somehow, when they all arrive - 'practical thought' goes out the window !!

It does for me anyway - perhaps it is an 'age thing' ???

What does born 'anorexic' mean Dea?

Dea

Dea Report 26 Jun 2011 20:27

Ginns - It is an eating disorder - a 'fear of food' !

All I know Ginns is that my son would not eat - he wasn' t 'faddy', he just did not like eating. !

From the beginning on solids he would only eat cornlakes (and they had to be Kerllogs or he would spit them out) !

He also graduated to 'toast but I would have to sit with him for at least an hour at every meal trying to teach him how to chew

On his 4th birthday we had a party and I did all the usual 'party things' and he actuallu ate a tiny piece of cheese - I 'phoned everyone in sight to tell them - I was SO excited !!

We struggled with him until he was about 14 and managed to get him to eat a bit more of a variety but he still has problems !!

That's what I mean about being 'born anorexic' !!

Dea...I have/had a son very similar ( he eats ‘owt now’) but would never define him as anorexic

That’s what confused me Dea Dea...he was a fussy eater, to the extreme

What did the docs put it down to Dea? It sounds more that just a 'fad' to be honest.

It must have been such a worry for you especially if you had to teach him how to chew...never heard of that before I must admit.

I is 'ot.

My second boy would eat nothing....except powdered mash....ewee

I just knew I had to feed him something and worked my way through a hundred and one foods

He is now a strapping 18 year old!

I saw a tv programme about this problem a couple of years ago - It now has a name but I can't remember what it was !!

NO - he wasn't 'faddy' - He just had a fear of food -If he tried to eat anything it would make him sick instantly !! - SO embvarrasing if you were out anywhere !!

When I took him to the Doctor he asked = "Do you eat peas? Do you eat tomatoes? Do you eat ????

He said yes to all, but he didn't say that "yes - I eat one pea, 1 slice of tomato etc, then I 'sick them up again'# (excuse the frankness) !!!

The Doctoir did not seem to understand !

He is now 37 but still has 'eating problems' !!!

It could be worse !!
