Gins, I is NOT a scrubber (or even a duster, usually)! But, the ceilings are far too high to reach, even with vacuum extension, and cobwebs were dangling - but no more.

Hi LK, night all.

Morning all,

Hope you are well. Little daughter is still sick and very very grumpy! OMG wants a bottle then it is too hot, then it is too cold, wants a dummy that's teh wrong one, wants to wear pink socks but NOT THOSE ONES MUMMY THEY DON't WORK ANYMORE all screamed at the top of her lungs.

I am sure the neighbours must wonder what on earth I am doing to her!

Grrrr!

LOL on a lighter note my nephew kindly revamped my ipod with his music which is pretty good...suprisingly given he is about 18 years younger than me..! But am discovering what a great voice Adele has (if anyone is familiar with her) :-)

Hi all,

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I have misplaced a shipping record and I can’t for the life of me think how I found it to begin with, I certainly can’t find it again on Ancestry and it is doing my brain in!!

I am looking for the following family who returned from Glasgow on the Empire Brent to Australia in May 1948:

Annie B O Bishop
William Bishop

And their children

Allan Bishop
Edwin Bishop
James Bishop
Gordon Bishop

Annie, Allan and Edwin travelled to the UK from Australia in 1931 aboard the Orontes and were then stuck there for the duration of the war. James and Gordon were born (James in Scotland, Gordon in Rugby, England). William must have travelled separately as I can find a record of him leaving Melbourne but I know he was over there with the rest of the family.

Any help would be HUGELY appreciated!!!!

It must be right under my nose and I just can’t see it!

AmazingGrace08 Report 31 Aug 2011 01:59

Thanks so much Jax!! That is most definatley them! Could you please tell me if it tells you what date they arrived in Australia or what occupation is shown for William?

Was it on FMP or Ancestry?

jax

jax Report 31 Aug 2011 02:04

Think you will need ancestry world wide for the arrival date I only have incoming, although I heard it was free this week for both?? not been able to access it though

AmazingGrace08 Report 31 Aug 2011 02:18

Thanks so much, you are fantastic. gee I have that package with Ancestry, I must be looking at it with goggles on or something!!!!

I don't know if William fought in the war. My mum said that he worked in a factory in Rugby during the war but that is the extent of her knowledge and i haven't been able to find anything else on him while he was over there. he was born in 1902 in Bendigo, Victoria

Edited-

Wiliam Robert bishop born 1902, Bendigo, Victoria
Travels back to Scotland at some stage and marries Annie in 1928 in Ayr.
Annie and William emigrate out to Australia between 1928 & 1930
In 1931 they return to Scotland as Annie could not settle and were caught in the war
They returned to Australia and remained here.

At various times, William was employed as a motor driver, chauffeur, process worker, Fitter, Fitter's Assistant.

Physio went well ....... got some tips on how to handle the flare up of arthritis which has caused my big toe joint to become red and inflamed ....... and no, it is not gout!! But it is exceedingly painful to walk!

Had long talk with physio Matt about when I can resume normal physio, and also exercises in the hospital pamphlet that I should not be doing.

Yesterday, I was given a list of private physios who specialise in treatment after mastectomies, and it included a lady at Matt's clinic, who I have seen before because she also does acupuncture. Marg was in, so I also talked to her.

Then I went for my usual sushi lunch, did a little bit of shopping in the block, met OH in the coffee shop in that block ....... and he took me over to a clinic to have the chest x-ray done

Now I have to ice down my toe joint "frequently"

And will have to tell our 80 year old friends that we are visiting this weekend that I will be unable to keep up with them :-(
