Merry Christmas to all!

LK-What would your OH's text/speech phone do with that??

Chris...so sorry to hear your Mum is not well. I did wonder where you were!

OH and I are spending the week in San Antonio (Texas).
Been here before for Xmas and it's a treat. Warmish weather and good food.

I did manage to get a "pat down" at the NY (islip) airport .
No idea why the bells and whistles went off when I went through the scanner thing. I think I heard (deaf in one ear) the nice security man say something about "random
checks".
Good enough.
I think the woman doing the pat down was as baffled as I was. She kept saying "sorry, sorry" and I kept saying "Don't worry about it!".

Love to all on the thread,
Mo
:-) :-) :-) :-)

Made it!!!! So grateful.

OH's meds hadn't kicked in enough for him to manage church this morning but I went with my daughter. Came home and had coffee and he had come round. Went off to son's and were there for 4 hours which was brilliant. :-D :-D :-D

Had a lovely lunch with all the trimmings and everyone behaved themselves - from the 2 year old upwards!!

Got home about an hour ago so am nicely settled down.

Sorry about your daughter Persie......and I do hope things get sorted out for her very soon.

Also hoping that LK's family and Gins family soon start improving.....what a lot we are!

Chris....count every day with your mum as a blessing :-D <3

Waving Happy Christmas to Maureen :-)~~~~~~~ :-) You could just pop in and say hello to my oldest friend who lives in San Antonio...... :-D

Going for a wander round.....

LOL!

Dea-trust me-no one had any joy in my"pat down". OH didn't even really notice it. He thought I was "wanded".

I think I've become the "ideal candidate" for these sorts of things at our airport. I don't cry,curse,pull a gun,offer a bribe,etc.

Love,
Mo <3 <3

Renes,

I always remember those VERY thin lamb chops which you get in Spain - cooked on the griddle and SO tender and tasty !!

Those are what I REALLY like !!!

NOT like anything we get in the UK!

Renes Report 25 Dec 2011 20:15

They are very very popular --- at this time of year the price rockets -- as do large prawns

I saw the chops in market at 25 euros a kilo !!!!

ask your local butcher to cut the chops very thin -- they did in Norfolk when I asked

Renes

Hi Mo,

We loved San Antonio when we were there. We stayed at the Hyatt on Riverwalk with a room on the 8th floor looking straight down at the Alamo, brilliant view. Mind you we went from the sublime to the ridiculous. After spending 4 nights at the Hyatt we moved off towards Galveston and ended up spending a night in a Motel 6 just outside Houston. I still bear the scar of whatever it was that bit me during the night..

San Antonio is a great place, can't remember where we stayed, been to the Alamo (got a photo somewhere of us and some GI s) and we also went in those Gondola chair lift things over the sunken gardens.. But I ddn't get bitten. :-D

Quiet rest today with a cup of coffee and nothing stronger... himself is outside hammering etc so he is happy..

Hope everyone had a happy day .. :-) :-) :-)

Persie on Boxing day.. ;-)
