Cyns, I guess you hate Cocoon because it reminds you of what you cant have ;-)

Never heard of 'Coma' but the name speaks for itself!

Cyns???You even THINK of phoning me at 6am and the language will be FAR worse down the phone than you will have heard before.

Mr H has only asked 4 times to come home since 3pm yesterday...Not bad going... :-D

I have downloaded 12 free books [until I get my account set up on Amazon] including Mrs Beeton's Household Management!!! It is wonderful! - gives you guidance on hiring staff, who to have as friends etc etc + cooking!! I hope to learn quite a few tips from it!

Dea

Dea Report 27 Dec 2011 17:51

Shall you be hiring servants in the new year then Laines ???

Gee

Gee Report 27 Dec 2011 18:04

So thats us lot gorn then if Lains has been reading Mrs Beetons advice ;-)

I get my servants through the agency :-D

lainie39 Report 27 Dec 2011 18:36

One would like to be thinking that one should be hiring servants in the New Year - however - one may [as an alternative] only be 'hiring' a dishwasher if one is lucky!!!

One will come back to you at a later date about the guidance on 'friends' when one has had time to study the guidance in further detail! lol

It is fasinating stuff - what little I have read so far - a slice of history from the Victorian era!!!! Brilliant!!! :-D

Gee

One hopes that after studying Mrs Beeton's book one will know exactly how to act in every social situation that should present itself.

lainie39

lainie39 Report 27 Dec 2011 18:44

What with Mrs Beeton and 'the tudors' one feels that one will be well furnished with the social graces needed to survive in this world.

Since reading Phillipa Gregory and watching 'The Tudors' series I have asked the children to address me as 'lady mother' and kneel in front of me so that I can give them my blessing .... still working on that one though!!! :-S

I have been practising my 'deep' curtseys - but the knees just wont stand up to it! I think that I should have been born 'above' curtseying!!! [just because of the knees! lol] :-D

lainie39 Report 27 Dec 2011 18:53

My Lady Dea - I am glad to hear that you fair well!!!

[I love it - I can download whatever I want to read in less than 60 secs - and it switches itself off after 10 mins of none activety - that is when I have fallen to sleep - and it doesnt lose your page like a book cos as soon as you switch it on again it goes back to your place in the 'book']

AND .... you can subscribe to newspapers which will be downloaded every day to your kindle for about £10 per month!!! Good value eh?

Dea

Dea Report 27 Dec 2011 18:55

Play nicely!! ;-)
