I do only need a dish but I dont have Sky Ja..x

If you have Sky you dont need a box for either Full HD or HD Ready tv set

I know me and my dad dont need boxes or dishes but my mum has a smaller version of my tv so I am sure its HD ready, but she has so many video's and DVD recorders attached not sure what has...but does she need a dish after April to recieve her programs?

Ja..x if your mom has a box with her tv she will not need a dish to recieve the standard tv channels.

Does she get Freeview (ITV2 BBC3 etc) I would have thought so if she has a box, she sounds sorted to me

Our tv has built in Freeview and Freesat. You dont need a dish to get Freeview, just a tv with it built in or a box if its not built in

You do need a dish to recieve Freesat whether its built in or not...if youve got sky, youre sorted, nothing extra needed

Has your area still got an analog signal then? Ours was switched off last Aug

Ahhh right I dont understand this freesat sounds like you dont get half the channels with that, but then with all the repeats on my sky I may aswell have a free something :-D

Freeview you get about 100ish free channels and the same again with Freesat but they are in full HD, thats why we are having a dish fitted

I agree Ja..x.............you may as well get the repeat rubish for free!

And youre not quite over 75...... yet ;-)

Missed you there Sylvs.....only flown to Canada once and cant remember the time it took?

Those flight prices that you mentioned seem hefty, cant OH get anything cheaper?

Hi Gins

It's 8-10 hours flying time from here to London, plus waits in airports

This week is still part of High Season rates ............. your schools are still on holiday, although all of ours went back on Tuesday :-D

The cheapest rate the travel agent could find on a scheduled airline was leaving at 1 pm on Friday, and going Vancouver -> Calgary, Calgary ->London. London->Manchester.

Cost increases tremendously for Friday evening!

He could possible have got a cheaper rate on Air Transat, which does have scheduled flights ................ but too many of our friends and relations have had bad experiences with them.

So, we stick to AirCanada ..... BA and British Midland also have flights, but are much more expensive

And there was me about to suss out a good coffee shop !!! :-(

The wind has eased now thank goodness. I know what you mean about the roof blowing off Gins....the insurance companies must be mad busy at the moment.

I have just had my friend on the phone. She is sounding happy tonight. A physio has been to see her today and said that she couldn't believe the difference in her. She had last seen my friend when she was so poorly last year. Definitely talking of her going home as soon as she is a little more mobile. :-D

Is Dea quiet today or is it me??? Grandchildren day perhaps? :-S
