I have Mormons in my tree too Catherine but they are newbies... my mother's 1st cousin married an American Marine when the boats were here in NZ in 1944. She became a Mormon.

I have stayed with them in Arizona and not once did they ask us to go to their church.
Wouldn't have done much good if they had.

I only do my tree not his... he has enough records of his Ancestry mostly done for him. Lots of smartypants nobility etc whereas I am from peasant stock.. with a few Mayors, surgeons and the odd Lady (bit like myself) and Earl.

Doesn't everyone? I really tried not to because he has enough to sink the Victory. But someone just had to get a bit important and marry some wowser and then another did as well. My father would turn over in his ashes if he was aware of his ancestry. He was a bushman for gawdsakes.

Thank you for passing on that message from Estelle Persie - I suppose I will have to e-mail her later. I do think they miss the point though - It is not 'me' who has a problem using the site, it is the site which has the problem!! :-D :-|

Why is it you are not at the hospital again Cynthia - Is you still a bit poorly?

Yes -

- wish I had kept all my 1st wedding presents -- they would be worth a fortune now

my sister 40odd year old Kenwood is much coveted by her soon to be 30 daughter - who lives in Cambridge ---

Also the original pyrex dishes --- the very very white ones - with red rose on --- are being sought everywhere --

They should look in my cupboard I have several - with lids

Best designed kitchen item ever made ---bowl can go in any oven and micro, as lid --- which was always useful for pies

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Mar 2012 11:12

I and others have broken that many pyrex dishes... I broke the lid off the slow cooker so then I found I could use this large pyrex pie dish until it broke. I threw out my acropal dinner plates except one.. it is the lid for the cooker... only problem is I have to get the thin spatula underneath the lid and manoeuvre it off without lid smashing on my bench.

However my grandmother's cast iron enamel (I think) coated casserole lives on forever. My father' s camp ovens are used as planters. I am surprised my mother never chucked them, she left all the silver behind in one house cause it was a beggar to keep clean.

Stay by the door Renes................don't want to miss those covers arriving!

Dea, I had to finish at the hospital a couple of weeks ago. There have been new arrangements with the parking facilities which aren't convenient to me etc..........

I used to have Pyrex dishes with a blue and green stripey pattern on. Most of my dishes are now clear ones but I do have a scarlet one because it matches my kitchen... :-D

(Do we have to curtsey to Persie now??) :-S

I have a 40 odd year old Kenwood sitting in the garage, is it worth something then?

Very sad day for me, after 31 years of always having my own car insurance, I have had to give it up. I recieved a medical form to renew my licence but there was not much point in filling it in as I knew I could'nt drive anymore, infact I hav'nt driven in nearly two years anyway.
Kept the car in my name so HID cannot take it with him, if he decides he has had enough :-D
