Good morning all !

Thank you Sylvia, I will just have my tomato toast for now as there are LOTS of goodies for brunch which I can't resist :-D :-D :-D

Those lovely home-fried potatoes with garlic and bacon are back so I just HAVE to have those, with extra bacon, of course - also grilled mushrooms and a few turkey sausages.

I MUST start with the Potato, dill and cheddar soup and I HAVE to fit in some Chicken Karage somewhere

Thank goodness you didn't make any of those Caribean Banana Fritters !!! ;-)

OOhh - just spied those 'little fat pancakes' (Buttermilk Dollar Pancakes) so I will finish with a couple of those !!!

Many thanks Sylvs

Most places in Vegas were 24hour when I was there they don't even have locks for the doors... They had to just shut them when JFK was killed... we stayed in a pub just along from this place that had a neon cowboy and the darn thing said "Howdy Pardner" every so often all bleedin' night. What with that and the place being lit up like a Christmas tree outside it was fairly horrendous.

Morning you chatty lot! :-D

I see that Dea is just concentrating on the food and has missed all the witticisms flying about! She should weigh about 26 stone at the rate she gets through breakfast! ;-)

Thank you Sylvs....porridge again please.

Nice one Jonesey :-D

We used to love watching All Creatures, I just didn't realise that it was so long ago :-(

As for the little brown box which may, or may not, contain dubious material, I wonder if it has something to do with free membership? Thank you for being so unhelpful ....... I do wonder about the people on here sometimes....... I really do. ;-)

To be purely pedantic.........the correct name for the celebration at the weekend is Mothering Sunday!

'Mothers Day' is different and is celebrated over in those far flung places where Sylvs and others live and is set at a different time of the year.

One could, naturally, go into the history of the same, but one will not bore you as one cannot cope with all the yawning which will occur :-P

Lovely day here........off to get myself sorted.............

Oh yes...........Grace has disappeared again :-S

I 'would' have commented on Jonesey's witticism Cynths but I was too busy tweazering the splinters out from by ???-bot ! :-0 :-0

Jonesey is always guaranteed to make us laugh :-D

I don't know where Gracie is but she won't be on here tomorrow as she will be too busy 'mothering' :-D

P.S. - All creatures... what ???

Only joking ! - I used to enjoy watching that too - in the olden days ;-)

I guess as the token Irishman here (by birth) I must acknowledge the man who chased the snakes out of Ireland.

He first went to Ireland when he was 18 to be a shepherd (either pigs or sheep) on Slemish mountain (about a 15 minute drive where I spent my misspent youth)

The following is supposed to have been written by him and is aptly named

"St Patrick's Breastplate"

I bind unto myself today, the strong Name of the Trinity,
by invocation of the same, the Three in One, and One in Three.
I bind this day to me for ever, by power of faith, Christ's Incarnation;
his baptism in Jordan river; his death on cross for my salvation;
his bursting from the spicèd tomb; his riding up the heavenly way;
his coming at the day of doom: I bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself the power of the great love of cherubim;
the sweet "Well done" in judgment hour; the service of the seraphim;
confessors' faith, apostles' word, the patriarchs' prayers, the prophets' scrolls;
all good deeds done unto the Lord, and purity of virgin souls.

I bind unto myself today the virtues of the starlit heaven
the glorious sun's life-giving ray, the whiteness of the moon at even,
the flashing of the lightning free, the whirling wind's tempestuous shocks,
the stable earth, the deep salt sea, around the old eternal rocks.

I bind unto myself today the power of God to hold and lead,
his eye to watch, his might to stay, his ear to hearken, to my need;
the wisdom of my God to teach, his hand to guide, his shield to ward;
the word of God to give me speech, his heavenly host to be my guard.

Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me,
Christ to comfort and restore me.
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself today the strong Name of the Trinity,
by invocation of the same, the Three in One, and One in Three.
Of whom all nature hath creation, eternal Father, Spirit, Word:
praise to the Lord of my salvation, salvation is of Christ the Lord.
